    There is a mistake in the title of "Revolution" on the White Album. The radio version was on the B-side of Hey Jude, but "slower, funkier alternate take" was actually titled "Revolution 1." I can see how you messed it up, no hard feelings. Plus if you want the entire line from that song it goes "But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow." And again, the Beatles "white album" actually is self titled, the "white album" moniker was given purely based on it's iconic minimalist cover. So, i'm just a Beatles purest, just wanting to bring that to your attention.

    In the endless battle between freedom and authority that is America, 1968 did give us a shining musical moment.. And like our great historical moments, 1968 resonates to us still because it had what so much of our institutions lack today -- great imagination and the ability to inspire us forward. That's what we miss now from our culture and our leaders, and must look to ourselves to unleash.
