I dont see why America keeps sending our children to Iraq to fight Israel's wars. Our troops need nothing short of that Annapolis conference to succeed. It is stunning how people like Braes say "The policy of the US is the survival of Israel, period". Let Braes pick up a gun and fight his own wars.

    • Posted By: Braes @ 11/14/2007 4:44:57 PM

I did carry America's guns, and am retired military. I also did not create the policy that we will defend Israel, Korea, Japan, etc. Period. Iraq is not Israels war, it is Cheney and Big Oil. But you are probably not interested in that, because you can't tag a Jew for it. And I am not Jewish. The policies are older than I am. Again, I ask, Where are all these America-loving Muslims when America needs them?

That is amazing! How could this happen?

Terrificworld and Christlike, it is a shame that anyone could be so ignorant. Christlike, please change your name because it does not fit.

    surprise...surprise....

why doesn't the the governement hire and outside agency to investigae the state department, cia, nsa and fbi for starters........i'll bet there aren't many people working in any one of those agencies who have put
    America's intersts first.

Al qeda doesn't have to do a thing....it has all the agents in place to pull a coup de etat anytime they choose.

The 249-page report, ???Why They Died: Civilian Casualties in Lebanon during the 2006 War,??? represents the most extensive investigation to date of civilian deaths in Lebanon during the war. In five months of research, Human Rights Watch investigated 94 cases of air, artillery and ground attacks by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to discern the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 510 civilians and 51 combatants, nearly half the at least 1,109 Lebanese deaths during the conflict. Of the approximately 510 Lebanese civilian deaths investigated by Human Rights Watch, at least 300 were women or children. Human Rights Watch visited more than 50 Lebanese villages and interviewed 316 victims and eyewitnesses, as well as 39 military experts, journalists and Israeli, Lebanese government and Hezbollah officials.
Maybe if America would stop blindly supporting these hateful Israelis the Lebanese and others wouldn't bother spying on us...you can be certain this is "why they hate us" You'd hate the people that condoned the wanton killing of your friends and family.

    • Posted By: Makesomesense @ 11/14/2007 10:05:10 AM

MESIII use your brain. Human Rights Watch is an anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian organization. Israel did not start the war, Israel does not purposely target civilians and Israel does not use civilians as shields by firing their artillery from the middle of civilian populations. Israel DOES send leaflets warning people that areas will be bombed (ironically letting Hezbollah terrorists get away) and does restrain itself from using all its firepower in order to court world opinion that will hate it no matter what it does. No other nation in world history has put up with daily missile attacks on civilian populations as Israel faces, nor should one. Far from being hateful, Israel has shown how much it values the life of innocent people. It is their hateful enemies who glorify and seek death, including civilian deaths for Public relations purposes. Hamas itself has said the Israelis love life as much as we love death. The Arabs have a culture of death and until they start to love life, there will be no peace. You probably still believe the lie that Jenin was a "massacre." The only massacre there was of Israeli soldiers fighting in hand to hand combat because Israel refused simply to bomb building holding terrorists for fear of civilian casualties. Wake up MESIII. Your ignorance is disgusting. By the way, how many Lebanese will killed by your friends Hezbollah THIS YEAR when the Arabs fought each other? One hell of a lot more than Israel killed. Hmmm. And where is the Human Rights Watch Report on that? Or Darfur? Or Syrian massacres under Hafez el Assad? Or the massacres of Saddam Hussein? Or the report on the Iran Iraq war that killed over one million? Or the PLO/Jordan Black September fighting? Still waiting for those reports. By the way, how would the US respond if we were being bombed by Mexicans? If you think we would exercise the restraint of the Israelis, you're not very bright.

Makesomesense...use YOUR brain. I'm working here in south Lebanon cleaning up the one million plus cluster bombs that your Israeli buddies left all over the landscape here. They didn't work all that well against Hezbollah, but they do manage to kill and maim plenty of civilians. (I think we're up to 1,300 civilians dead from the 2006 conflict...great going!) Good going with the leaflets too: the IDF told people to get out of town...and then bombed the roads and bridges. I saw the lines of burned out cars...they weren't military, they were families in those cars.

I won't bother with the rest of your post...too much ridiculous and erroneous windbag stuff for me now...I'll just say you should google "Walter Sobchak" and consider suing the Coen brothers for stealing your character. Shoma shabbas!

No doubt the FBI and CIA didn't do their job on background checks. Perhaps people who want to find out what Hezollah is REALLY all about should pick up a copy of Smoozing With The Terrorists by, Aaron Klein.

    • Posted By: daharbin @ 11/14/2007 2:51:19 PM

I think this "Aaron Klein" may have an angle...I checked out some of his writings.

You'll learn a lot more if you try the latest International Crisis Group study and recommendations:
"Hizbollah and the Lebanese Crisis" from October 2007. It explains the motivations of the various actors, without trying to sell you a reactionary t-shirt like Aaron Klein.

I am happy to see that in searching for resolution to conflict many of my countrymen are beginning to realize the danger in viewing other cultures in terms of their own. I believe that this realization is a Start for a Resolution. We have a term for this process of distorting cultural perception in our English vocabulary, "ethnocentrism". The more we ascribe right or wrong to the actions of our global neighbors, the more they resent it and the further apart grow the chances of reconciliation between peoples.

By nature, I am very conservative in thought and action. I have lived in Iran and Pakistan and so perhaps have different views of this cultural struggle than most Western people. I consider myself fortunate to have had friends in both countries and to have traveled extensively while I lived there. I can tell you that the Iranians are a warm and hospitable people and the Pakistanis are just the same. Both are curious about Western culture and judge us mostly by our movies and newspapers. The majority of the population in each country is devout Muslim and while poor (by our standards) live a life guided by belief in their Prophet. It is a rich life not well understood by Westerners, but upon close examination could probably be compared to the Pilgrims in the early history of the United States. A simple life, ridgid in belief, not too tolerant of people or ideas which contradict what is accepted as correct. For centuries emphasis has been on maintaining the status-quo. Where Islam has "bumped" against Western culture(s) conflict has been the result. I believe that the current interface of Islam and the West is just another interface of the two in world history.

This interface could be different in its outcome if we (Western countries) recognize the potential distorting effect of judging another culture in terms of our own. We must learn to accept differences in other cultures - and move on to peacefully coexist. I have witnessed public stonings, hangings, and other penalties as permitted under Islamic justice. They were a shock to me then and are still today. But we have to find a way to live and let live. Even if we have no other motivation beyond living, the means of conflict resolution are going the wrong way. Pakistan has and Iran is reputed to have shortly the means to kill large numbers of people. Wouldn't it be easier to bring every head of state for every Muslim nation together and discuss or better yet describe the "end game" result of nuclear destruction? And do the same thing on the Western side. As time goes on, Western and Muslim cultures are moving to the brink. Both sides must see that concessions must be made to the middle. It is a large undertaking to be sure but it can be started by changinging the way we view differing cultures.

I was being sarcastic, and I definately do not agree with poster that most individuals in Dearborn loves America very much...if that statement wasn't sad, it would be laughable...Wake up America is right, look at what is front of you...stop acting like the Muslim communtiy wants to play nice and get along..here's a shocker, they don't...and the certainly don't love America

Let me clarify - while she didn't physically join until Bush was in the WH it has been generally accepted that depletion of active assets in the CIA during the Clinton administrations led to aggressive recruiting of Arabic speaking operatives. I really doubt the she was a big fan of G. Bush's policies...

6 to 12 months? There is a man in our US prisons named Jonathan Pollard who is from Israel and he was caught spying for Israel (which should not be a crime since we share and actually they have better technology than us) and he has been there over 20 years. And this woman gets 6-12 months WTH is wrong with us. She should never get out of prison. Hand her over to Israel to swap out for the kidnapped Israeli troops. Wake up America!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Posted By: AMERICAN DEFENDER @ 11/14/2007 1:11:18 PM

So many Americans are soooooo weak!! Amazing to me that Americans still fall for terrorist explanations for anything. They use any kind of justification to get your sympathy. Then you help them spread propaganda so they can achieve their ultimate goal. THE DEATH OF YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN!! AND THE DEATH OF AMERICA!! With your help this is going to happen within 50 to 100 years. They got you explainging why you must die!! Brilliant. I hope the weekling wimpy Americans are the 1st ones to have their heads lopped off!!

Hizbulla may have ,but let them continue and they'll wish they never heard of Israel, as GOD will remind them in the near future.

As a former employee of the US Government abroad this does not surprise me. U.S. security is fragile and vulvernable, mainly because those in charge are looking in the wrong places. One - almost funny, it's so bad - future tragedy we should be aware of is 3,000 anti Americans running the American Embassy in Baghdad. Now, that's an international disgrace. Please withhold name thank you.

FBI and CIA recruit many muslims and non muslims as spy for plotting against different countries. if this lady has decieved them so nothing wrong in this. they deserved it. but i still doubt whether she was forced to plead guilty and made false story or it is a real because for sure US intelligance department is not going to uncover the real case and we have seen in past that how true CIA speaks out. it can be a conspiracy against hizbullah as hizbullah started military exercise that really threatened Israel once again. and this time israel is not going to teach hizbullah any lesson as it itself got lesson from hizbullah in 2006.

To respond a little along with what FDJ_LA said. It was foretold that all this confusion in the Middle-East would happen, 1000s of years ago. There has never been peace there, nowhere actually. It is written that we will never know peace until Jesus returns. And that is imminent. He will be here very soon. We all need to be prepared for His return. Regardless of our intellect, problems, wealth, poverty, color, race, beliefs, etc. the whole world is divided into 2 groups. Either the flock of Jesus (His followers), or the flock of Satan. The flock of Satan includes every man and woman that has not accepted Jesus as their savior. They follow (are obsessed with) their car, their music, their cell-phone, their job, their sexual play; you name it, they follow it. The thing is, all of these 'its' (gods) are just things that Satan uses to trick us and take us farther away from the One true God, Jesus Christ. He stands at the door and knocks. The choice is ours. We can either open the door and let Him in, or we can ignore the invitation and accept the prize at the end of our current race. Please open the door to your heart now! Before it's too late! Jesus loves you, and calls to you now!! You can do it, let Him in!!

Are you kidding me!?!? We're worried about muslim fanatics outside our country looking to do us harm, and yet we still have uneducated, crazy-with-Christ fools like this in the USA! Fundamentalism, regardless of its mythological/religious basis, is among the greatest threats to our peace and prosperity. There will never be peace in this world until small-minded, fascist sheep like this guy (and Falwell, Bin Laden, etc) wake up and become rational, thinking human beings.

Polygraphs can catch spies now? What's next, Richard Clarke making a pithy remark? Or Newsweek hiring some more lazy reporters who are more interested in hype and ignorance than the facts?

I guess the apologists for illegal entry into the United Dtates are on to something - This is just another case of an illegal alien doing a job that no American will do!

  • Posted By: FreedomforUS @ 11/14/2007 10:38:34 AM

Its bad enough when our enemies abuse us, but Israel has been guilty of some pretty unfriendly acts, such as murdering our servicemen on the USS Liberty, AIPAC spying on us, Sandy Berger destroying documents tainting Israels activities during Clinton admin. No, I think Ron Paul is right: no foreign allegiances. Israel and the Moslem world can work out their own problems. If we did that they wouldn't have a desperate need to spy on us at all.

    • Posted By: Disintegration @ 11/14/2007 11:32:12 AM

"No foreign allegiances." "Let the rest of the world work out its own problems." We tried that once, in the 20s and 30s. Didn't work out so well. The failure of the League of Nations to stand up for the freedom of smaller and less developed nations came back to us with a vengeance at a place called Pearl Harbor.
