Howard Fineman is a giant right wing tool. Enough with hating the Clintons, get over it already. He was the best President in the last 100 years, and you can't stand it!!!

It is truly as I feared that the writers of these articles have no more brains and even less braun then the "Blonde" now grey guy in the whitehouse. And excuse me but Guliani would be nowhere without Mr. Bloomberg's business savvy! It's also sad that men find a little masculinity in a female so hard to take, are YOU fearful?
The answer about driver's licenses was not a contradiction: For it to be a contradiction it would have to refer to "yes" and "no" to the SAME question. However, she answer "yes' to Spitzer's actions but "no" as to a DIFFERENT ASSUMPTIONS, which is what she was trying to say when she said that "illegal Immigration" is a complex issue. Two different questions with two different answers do not imply a contradiction. Please check, reread your Philosophy, Logic books and stop writing/shooting from the hips: You are supposed to be an educated person.

The only fear I see is in the men! Is it so hard to accept a tough female? Perhaps you should look within to find a stronger you. If she were a male then this so called "control freak " issue would be deemed "a fighting man". How sad that we have not evolved enough to recognize that traits are within both sexes and let us see them for what they are. I can see President Bush's female side, a bit on the blonde side but a female side non the less. What you call defensive I call assertive, Go Hilary!
Hillary is the only Dem playing long ball. The others need to stand up a bit and take a bigger role.

Howard, you are spending too much time with Chris Matthews, the human megaphone that shills for Republicans. He might as well have a tattoo on his forward that reads, "I hate Hillary Clinton,??? and one his bicep reading, ???I Love Rudy Giuliani.??? Why aren't you pounding on Rudy Giuliani for his shameful 9/11 profiteering with the zeal you go after Hillary for showing the kind of attributes America needs going forward? Giuliani mocked her lack of management experience, saying she's never run anything like a state or a city, as he has. But by those standards, Giuliani would have dumped on Abe Lincoln, his party???s first president who also had no management experience and who had lost two successive runs at Senator. Hillary???s won two battles for the upper chamber. Please don???t enter the mainstream media echo chamber that feasts on personal mannerism like, like Mr. Matthews did with Mr. Gore???s ???sighs??? or not Hillary???s ???clapping,??? which like a second grader he finds confusing. The American people have a hard enough time as it is figuring out what???s important from what isn???t, don???t confuse them more with sophomoric articles like this one that are the equivalent of a crowd shouting ???jump??? to a person on the edge.
Couldn't agree with you more!
Hillary Clinton has a huge advantage to America as a president, in that the experience and intimate knowledge of the inner workings of how things are done in Washingto DC will allow her to hit the ground running and spend the first two years feeling her way around like every other candidate will have to do. She also knows there are indeed really ways to get the budget under control as Bill Clinton had America in the black for the first time in forever, and America was in a very good position until Bush and the Republicans went on a "cut the business taxes and it will create jobs" campaign. Well, the result of that was huge profits for business, huge oil profits, huge numbers of homeless and a fast disappearing middle class, a huge increase in millionaires, and lastly as advertised a huge number of new jobs. The problem is most of those jobs were in other countries.and the ones here in the US were all service economy jobs. Ever try to buy a house, pay utilities, buy a car, and all the items to fill a home (or your gas tank even) on $8.00 an hour? And there was another huge occurance that the Republicans "business and profits first" mentality has brought us. A huge influx of illegal aliens, and a huge number of Americans no longer able to get most of the jobs that kept lower middle class America alive. Try to get a construction job, be it carpenters for homes, steel workers for buildings, concrete workers for roads, or any of a long list of similar jobs, and you will find what used to be good $14-$24 an hour jobs paying far less and the jobs filled with illegal aliens
Oh now it's Mrs. Hillary Clinton as "control freak" AKA "ballbuster". That is misoginistic psycobabble. When somebody runs for President being "in control" is actually a job requirement. Finneman, how do you spell Pencil-Necked-Geek?
yeah as for me
I like the point Fineman makes in this article that a candidate's campaign is an extension of his or her personality. I'd go one step further and make the (obvious) point that it's also an introduction to how said candidate would run the country. If Clinton micromanages her campaign staffers and Senate interns, what do you think she'll want to do with the rest of us? I don't know about anyone else, but I personally feel quite qualified to run my own life, and that's a right that I'm afraid will be seriously infringed upon in a second Clinton presidency.
By stark, stark contrast, Republican candidate Ron Paul's campaign has consciously run a loose, open, no-secrets campaign that has been greatly enhanced by a large and growing grassroots movement. He has 40 or so paid staffers, but literally thousands of freelance volunteers who are constantly making videos, DVDs, and homemade signs. They put fliers on windshields, hire planes to two banners over football games and NASCAR races, and coordinate all these activities via the internet. Oh, and last week they independently coordinated a 4 and a half million dollar fundraiser over the internet. As far as I'm concerned, I'd much prefer a president who trusts the people to use their own ingenuity to improve themselves (and by extension, the country). It's a attitude of openness and trust which engenders reciprocation from supporters.
America needs a leader who believes that freedom works, not one who is afraid of anything she can't control.
Yes, but that has helped him get 2% support.

Sound a little more defensive! The Author is merely saying that Mrs. Clinton is a control freak. He isn't saying she isn't smart, or brave. He's merely pointing out a part of her character that, while in some ways is a strength, but can also sink her ship. Lighten up -- I read it as criticism, not an indictment.
To the Author of this page, "get over Mrs. Clinton"! She's married and yes, she is smarter than you!!Do you love her or do you hate her? You are so confusing!! She's a very smart lady and brave, she is gone where you can only opinion. While some of us agree with her others disagree and that's perfectly o.k. But to say she can not do the job and put her down the way is done is not o.k. unless you can say "I can do a better job!" and if so, why are you not running? exactly!!
MSNBC.com offered readers the ability to vote on candidates' performances after each debate. Hillary Clinto scored very poorly in the reader polls, yet the talking heads raved about her performances. When asked such questions as did she answer the question, readers overwhelmingly voted against her. Joe Biden far outscored her each time. We need Joe Biden in these troubled international times, not Ms. Clinton and her spin machine.
Dear Mr. Fineman,
Hillary Clinton is a formidable candidate for the top job in this country, and the media has a right to ask tough questions and issue tough critiques. What is not fair, is when the media plays softball with the rest of the field. She deserves to play on the same, equal playing field.
As a the working woman in my household and female with a position of authority in my workplace, I am well aware of the reality of being subject to a different playing field than my male counterparts. But in 2007, Mr. Fineman, we should be much past newstories like your article ???Hillary's Achilles??? Heel: Brainy women don???t frighten voters. Control freaks do,??? which rings so painfully clear with sexism and negative-female gender stereo-typing. For goodness sakes, when is a man ever referred to as a "control freak" or "brainy" with negative connotations just for being organized, thorough, and prepared? Never. A man in similar circumstances would be praised as intelligent, strong, in control, a real leader, etc.
Come on, Mr. Fineman, you are better than this. Or, at least I had hoped you were.
At the end of your piece you go into further how she should show people at large how ???warm??? and ???charming??? she is when she feels ???safe??? in a little, cozy living room. Maybe men need to see a woman behave like that ??? matronly and like a housewife ??? , but I know that I could give a damn about that - I want my President to behave like she knows exactly what is going on, is thinking two steps ahead, and is in control at the world stage level.

Whether one is a Democrat, Republican, or an Independent, it is troubling that Hilllary only seems to be able to function when the envirionment is "safe" and "predictable". Since 9-11, the world is neither "safe" nor "predictable". As a result, I don't think she has the instinctive personality to be President. On the other hand, despite his shortcomings, Rudy Guilliani seems to have demonstrated the abilty to govern amid chaos.
I think it is hilarious that peope are concerned about Senator Clinton's campaign. One gentlemen even stated that his fear was extreme micromanagement in Hillary's presidency. That is laughable because our current administration, and all of the Republican frontrunners have used fear mongering and 9/11 to seek EVEN MORE control over the American people (Freedom act anyone??!?!). THAT is what I am afraid of... Not some stupid question planted by a campaign. Questions are questions regardless of who they come from.... Was it smart, probably not, was it necessary... nope... did it change my view of her and her ability to lead a country?? Absolutely not!
And using the "swift-boating" slur, also despicable. We're STILL waiting for The Kerry to release his records, which he promised to do. What does he have to hide?
To a LIBERAL, ANY question of a Democrat's record or their own statements is now termed "swiftboating." How DARE we question John Kerry's time spent in Cambodia, that was seared into his memory, when his own memoirs say he wasnt near there on the date in question. The bulk of John O'Neill's book dealt with The Kerry's UNFITNESS FOR COMMAND, based on Kerry's actions AFTER he came back from Vietnam - his muddy history of how he received his medals - and it IS muddy - was tangential. All i've seen are attacks on the writers of the O'Neil book, and NOT much discussing the merits of their charges. But of course, the LIBERAL press chose to believe John Kerry, and NOT the 100 decorated members of John Kerry's unit that were his peers or higher up in his chain of command, who were in positions to KNOW how The Kerry was as a commander.
Mr. Fineman would do much better if he moderated his liberal bias, and stayed with facts, not unsubstantiated opinions.
