BOTH MEN AND WOMEN: Get educated about the facts, risks and prevalence of HPV. This virus is widespread and in high-risk form, can cause anal, cervical and oral cancers. HPV doesn't cause the health risks in men like it does in women, and a reliable HPV test doesn't exist for men even though they get it and spread it just as rampantly as women. Furthermore, condoms aren't reliable because HPV is passed skin to skin, and a condom doesn't cover all genital skin.
There is simply not enough awareness and discussion about HPV because of its sexual nature and stigma. But if both men and women knew more about the serious risks and rampancy of HPV, we'd have a safer world that might not continue to erode the significance of being intimate with someone.
