The press is using Amanda Knox, who is young, attractive, and intelligent--although not so wise to sell papers. How sleazy is that? We know who did this crime. Free Amanda now.

Considering the number of your posts here, Merlino, Merl ...or whatever, we have all understood that you are in love with Amanda Knox. What a pity it wasn't you to be murdered instead of Meredith. Nobody would be sorry for the death of a racist like you.

how much do you want to bet that it wasn't the american GIRL's fault? Sounds like the italians are trying to make it out to be her fault... I think men are more likely to cause a rape than any women would. Look up the statistics on THAT. Quit making it an american thing. American man MAYBE... american WOMAN??? Not likely. The stats on females are very light. And it's the italian guy that was looking for violent sex and who posted a pic of himself with a knife...hmm...AND it was HIS knife!

Oh, poor American girl !!! Please, stop your chauvinism ! If she were innocent, why on earth should she tell the police several different versions of what happened. There is only one truth and Amanda Knox kept on changing stories.

yeah. I agree. The black guy did it, no question

    • Posted By: Horizon @ 07/16/2008 9:50:21 AM

Do you have any proof to state that the " black guy did it " ? Or is it just your racism talking ?

London22, you have some major anger issues. It's amazing how much hate one person can have for a country. You may not like all the politics of the land, but neither do many of the people living in the US. Perhaps you should put your energy to better use and instead of moaning about the US and the ugliness it's causing in the world, go out and make our world a better place. And of course, never visit the US!

So..this issues now war between Italian, englan and american war???...

Its sad how the discussion of a young woman murdered in cold blood turns into an American bashing session. If you don't like america fine but lets stick to the topic, the guilty people of this crime should be severely punished for their crimes. America is not as perfect place but then again where is that place.

eerrr, do they use lie detector tests in italy? if not, why not?

  • Posted By: cassieblack @ 07/15/2008 10:49:35 PM

Who gives a crap whether these people were American, Italian, black, white--whatever. THEY COMMITTED A HORRIBLE CRIME AGAINST ANOTHER PERSON. They destroyed not only the life of the young woman who died for whatever sick thoughts and suggestions were happening between these people. They have completely changed the whole course of life for the families, friends, and acquaintances of her, taken a piece of their lives, hearts, minds and souls, regardless of how big or small.

I believe that if proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt, they should all receive maximum punishment for their crime. If the death penalty is offered there, they should receive the death penalty. I probably sound like a cold person to a lot of the people who have and will make posts about this crime, and frankly, I don't think cruel and unusual punishment should be an issue in any crime. An eye for an eye.

This case does not surprise me at all. In 1966, when I was 19, one of my friends from school told me how she had been raped at ag 12. Some older girls told her they were having a "surprise" party for her 12th birthday, and they picked her up in their car to take her to the party. Hiding in the back seat was the young man who lived across the street from me. The girls shoved my friend into the back seat and drove away as the young man proceeded to rape her. The older girls thought it was a "joke" and some sort of sexual initiation they thought appropriate for a 12-year-old.

My friend, now 61 as I am, has had a troubled life due to this trauma. In remembrance of my friend's horrible incident,, I always was very careful of my children's friends, and I never let them go out with anyone unless I knew the family well and unless parents with good values and sound judgment were present as chaperones and drivers.

The horrible end of Meredith Kercher echoes the same lesson: You can never be too careful in choosing friends. It pays to be a bit fearful and paranoid. -- Kaye from Ohio

I don't understand why you people are arguing over whether or not the Italians or the Americans commited the crime. No one knows who commited the crime. Just because she is a white, American women, doesn't mean that she didn't commit the crime. Surely the stats say that men commit more rapes than women, but they are JUST numbers. It is proven that women are capable to commit the same type of crimes as men, it doesn't matter your race or your gender. I'm not trying to say that she did do it, but it's very likely that she did.

There are a lot of screwed up people in the world. That's why we have doctors to help, but it doesn't seem like too many want to go and get help. You are frowned upon for many different things, being divorced after having children, being poor, even going to community college. This world is crewl and unjustified, but only we are the ones who can change it for our future.

It is interestijng to read these comments and easy to blame this or blame the US etc.

The press are there to sell newspapers etc otherwise we wouldn't have any, so sometimes you have people who don't let the truth get in the way selling a product.

As a foreigner to Italy it is easy to think their justice system doesn't work as well as your own. I think Italy being a country that has been well established will have honourable men and women, who want to see justice performed.

I am very sorry this whole incident has occured at all and at the root of everything is sin and each of us needs to take responsibility for our actions. All people are capable of falling short. I think what is true is that each of us is not perfect and perhaps should start fixing that first before pointing the finger at others.

I feel sorry for the family of the murder victim, a wicked and sick act was obviously performed. Nationality has nothing to do with it. A group of depraved humans performed this act, I hope justice will be served.

I totally agree with you london22. I live in America and I've always thought this country was a joke. People running around like idiots, doing what they want when they want without any consequences. It makes me sick. I've actually had to take antidepressants before because of growing up here and all the things that has happened to me from both of my husbands, and then get looked down upon because I'm a single mother. I

who gives if she is american.she done the crime now she should do the time.i personally think they should hang the witch.she looks nasty and evil.i have to agree with one comment made in this case.you are ugly americans who live in a very ugly, cuckooland of a country.whoever discovered america should be hung drawn and quartered.come to think of it so should amanda.and before you tell me who discovered america it wasnt christopher columbus.

    • Posted By: peaceonearth79 @ 07/15/2008 5:19:49 PM

london22 why do you hate america so? some of us here hate the way things are but we are here and we have to deal with it. if you dislike us so much then never come here, never buy anything american, heck never subscribe to anything american but please don't put us all in one category because your upset that some girl american or not killed someone. i agree that she should pay dearly for what she has clearly done wrong. wherever she's from. the statements you've made about americans in general is what breeds hate amongst us all. stop assuming you know so much about who we are based on the wrong doings of people highlighted by the media. I'm not here to put you down but your culture and history is smattered with as much if not more blood than any mass murderer or thrill killer from america. you have had many blood thirsty citizens in your time as a country as well. being drawn and quartered is afterall a pretty harsh statement for someone who can't understand how someone could be so cruel. by the way im not 100 percent american but i will say that we are by far not the bloodiest country these days take a look around sometime and keep your finger pointing to a minimun. please

It is sad that this girl will probably represent all Americans in Italian minds. They already forget that we saved their a** from Hitler and Mussolini. That we saved them from the communists. People of the world forget that we Americans are The Arsenal of Democracy. Tell me if I'm wrong, but in Italy you are guilty and that you have to prove yourself innocent.

    • Posted By: london22 @ 04/01/2008 2:30:52 PM

your sad.all you can blab about is who fought who and we won that war.you never won any war sad american psycho.the norwegian guy is right our grandparent, grandparents are older than your pathetic fake country.ugly country.think about the poor girls parents for once and not yourself.

no,Italians don't don't think she will represent all Americans. They think President Bush represent all Americans......unfortunately.
Please don't make your self to be so much better than the rest of the world.
