If America is to blame for all the sickos and lunatics of the world and Europe is so healthy and blameless how do you explain Jack the Ripper and Hitler? And these are just 2 quick examples, I'm sure many more could probably be found.

      • Posted By: london22 @ 04/01/2008 2:17:02 PM

would hate to burst your bubble but jack the ripper was supposedly american.and as for hitler they need to bring someone like him in to run america to sort you all out.crazies.it must be great living in a country known for serial killers, cuckooland or is that hollywood.fake,fake,fake.its just gross.even your accent is vile.

I just think that this girl fell victim to three very sick people...the fact they come from different backgrounds just goes to show that statistically antything can happen anywhere or nothing at all can happen. I hope the girls family can find peace and are not reading these comments.

I am so glad as an american that after all these decades since it was created, we have finally been able to shed the nickname of the ugly american. Unfortunately, the new nickname will be much worse.

No one knows how they will react in an extreme situation; however, their decision is always based on the situation. Ms. Know could have been frozen in terror; drugged up; or unable to find a safe way to call the police; or get out the house; and who knows how the police would have responded. We do not know how this crime was carried out. Whether a look out was stationed in and out of the house. Until we know all the facts we cannot make any intelligent statements about this case; only gut reactions.

  • Posted By: Merl73 @ 12/02/2007 11:46:13 AM

This story makes me glad not to live in Europe or anywhere the establishment has no sense of justice--the law is whatever they say. Consider how the McCann's are being vilified. Look at the buffonery displayed by officials in the Holloway case. All of this makes foreigners look like idiots; and makes one thankful for living in the USA.

  • Posted By: Merl73 @ 12/02/2007 11:28:24 AM

The press is using an attractive victim like Ms. Knox to sell papers; is that sleazy or what?
    Free Amanda now.

  • Posted By: radumser @ 11/30/2007 10:55:21 AM

(quote)"If this crime had been committed in the US, Ms. Knox could not be assumed or declared guilty by the press, the judge or internet bloggers."(quote)
    Sure, tell Sgt. Peterson that!!
Now they have another person to hang in Italy. They found the fourth person involved,Rudy guede. He admitted being there and they found his semen in the victim.

Why do we in America feel the need to defend people on the bases of being an American citizen. None of know this girl, yeah she looks sweet enough but looks can be decieving. the girl who was killed deserves justice, even if I hurts our American pride!

  • Posted By: glad2bhere @ 11/23/2007 11:34:40 PM

If this crime had been committed in the US, Ms. Knox could not be assumed or declared guilty by the press, the judge or internet bloggers. She may not be the instigator nor the perpetrator of this rape and murder. She may well be just a material witness, but what do the Italians or the British care?! It is times like these that I thank my parents for taking me the hell out of Italy when I was young and bringing me to the US where the rule of law actually means something. I wonder if there is such a thing as "innocent before proven guilty" in Italy?! I hope Ms. Knox has a good "American" lawyer! She is going to need a team of them!

If this crime had been committed in the US, Ms. Knox would not be assumed guilty by the press or the judge or you internet bloggers. She may well not be the instigator, nor the perpetrator of this crime. She may simpy be a witness to it. I am sure it was a male who raped the murdered girl and a male who murdered her. Why don't you people who are quick to judge wait for forensic evidence to be officialy released and for a trial before you are ready to put Ms. Knox in jail for life or worse. Italians need to learn a thing or two about evidence gathering. It's times like these that I thank my parents for moving me the hell out of Italy and to the US where the rule,of law is much more defined and much more fair. I hope Ms. Knox has a good "American" lawyer. I wonder if there is a thing such as "innocent before proven guilty" in Italy?! I guess with the Italian press, the British press and the help of Italian judges, who needs a fair trial in Perugia?! Maybe that's how they save tax Euros!

Patrick has said he is the grandson of Patrice, but not sure if it is true. So far, all the evidence is not looking good for Amanda. I think there were some serious drugs and alcohol involved. I think her boyfriend is creepy and also responsible. So far, I am not convinced that Patrick was involved. I think Amanda is framing him. There is not one trace of evidence he was in the house. Italian police think that he and Amanda set an appointment to meet up later, after he texted her to say not to come to work. She replied with "see you later" which police assumed meant - I will see you later. But I think we all know that it means, Bye.

One thing that is refreshing to see is that so many Italians are defending Patrick. He is a bar owner in the town, and has a kid and a wife, and is in a band, and seems to be a stand up guy in the community. There was a program the other night and tons of Italians came on to say that they think he is innocent. Italians are not always very pro-foreigners...

The police are looking for one or two other suspects, but so far all DNA and fingerprints are pointing to Amanda and her bf. There was another bloody fingerprint on the pillowcase that did not belong to any of them.

The only thing that makes sense to me, if Patrick IS involved is if he were a drug dealer... otherwise, I just don't think he fits in the picture. It is very weird indeed.

One thing that I thought was kind of funny, if you can find anything funny in the whole thing, is that one guy came forward because he got a mysterious text message that read: "For me, meredith dies tonight or tomorrow." The cops jumped all over it. It turns out that someone sent it after watching Grey's Anatomy. It was the episode when Meredith drowned.

    • Posted By: Hawk Master @ 11/21/2007 8:48:23 AM

ROTFLMAO!!!! That was tooooo funny. Grey's Anatomy....LOL. Can't blame the poor cops but rather the poor sap who didn't bother to check who sent the message and then ask them what they meant. In this whole sorrid and sad case, this made my day...thanks for the laughs.

Wow! You guys really are paranoid! No-one is stating that this is all about americans, just stating that one of the accused IS an american. But look how you lot react. Even down to that old favourite of mentioning how you lot saved the world from Hitler. Um....you did kind of turn up late for that event and only after Pearl Harbour. Some bunch of altruistic lot you were! But back to the point, take a deep breath, put a lid on your paranoia and accept that all nations are capable of anything, ok? Its all this lunatic ranting that gives your country a bad image. Sigh.....but I guess y'all come right back at me with more bile and ravings and just perpetuate the image even more. How sad.

I think it's a horrible tradegy that Ms. Kercher was brutally assaulted and murdered for some sick, perverse, "sexual pleasure" of some sick individuals. I hope her family can get past this crime and find some peace. At this point , it's hard to put blame on any one person. I think the suspects they have in custody are involved in some way. I wonder if Amanda would be in favor of rape if she was brutally assaulted? Unfortuneatly, all races, ethnic groups, etc, have their good and evil people. This is one example of that. Why are people so stupid as to ruin their lives for a crime (that's never worth it in the end) that they are too weak to admit to. Maybe they like jail cells and being told what they can and can't do. Ms. Kercher did not deserve this. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED!!!!!!

    • Posted By: fayfaz @ 11/20/2007 6:26:12 PM

there are many more to arrest i have a feeling also another woman whose shoe was that its not the americans!!!!also ms kercher was mixed race that had something to do with it also if i were the victim id never have stayed in that house with all those weirdos coming in there day and night shows what drugs can do ?????? for sure the death penalty for this crime to show we cannot accept the abuse like this let it not go unpunished!!!!!im sorry for ms kerchers people may god be merciful

  • Posted By: fayfaz @ 11/20/2007 6:19:29 PM

i believe sincerely that there were are more than those already detained in the poilice cells now i also knew in 1998 of that houses notorious status also of italoian women picking up african men north west africasns for flings its never been a nice place since they began allowing just about anyone those with money etc soon began debasing the immigrants who are were vulnerable due to low socioeconomic status im saying this so the truth comes out...........italian women have been playing around there for years now we have a scandal people more of them will die i know that this isnt the last we will hear of sordid allegations from perugians

  • Posted By: scottiekim1 @ 11/20/2007 1:31:01 PM

I think it's a tragedy that Ms. Kercher was tortured and murdered for some sick sexual, perverse "pleasure". I think all the parties listed are involved in some way. They need own up to what they did. I mean, how stupid can they be to leave soooooooo much evidence behind linking them to the scene and the crime? Criminals that stupid get what they deserve. I wonder how Ms. Knox would feel if she was brutally raped? Would she still be in favor of it? It seems that society has no morals and values any more. No one wants to be held accountable for things they do. They play the blame game and accuse everybody else. How pathetic. My condolences go out to the Kercher family. This was a crime that should have never happened.

ITA with your, anonymous_person. The Italian boyfriend is the one who advertised he liked extreme sex, the murder weapon is his knife, he posed in pictures with weapons. Plus you are correct, men commit rape and other violent crimes at a MUCH higher rate than women. I'm not saying she is without fault, but it seems like the Italian boyfriend is trying to shift blame onto the American.

  • Posted By: Recu @ 11/16/2007 6:08:13 PM

There us certainly a lot of fear in this country, due to the current president. Lets remember our values in the U.S. are different than in other countries. Here people are innocent till proven guilty, in Italy people are guilty till proven innocent.

You ovbiously have never had to go through trial or divorce with our corrupt judicial system. One is guilty if they do not have the money to prove through pr, find an attorney above the corruption, and people who care enough to support you knowing it will take a ton of their time, stress, strain, and could have them somehow affiliated with your final "judgement". I was sickened by the legal system and have realized that the only real justice I may seek is in continuing to be an honorable person, with ethics and morals...hoping I get a second chance to prove I am not the person the media and my ex's manager has me out to be. Furthermore, I must have faith in a larger legal system, one that is universal such as "karma" or heaven and hell. The longer I live the more "politics" I see in everything, and I was dragged through the dirt in a hollywood media scandal. It is a shame that sex and violence sell in the media, and combining both in this gruesome and painstaking story will sell papers. I just hope that the parents and loved one's are able to find justice through the courts, and hopefully in their mind and hearts. And that they need not be tormented by references or findings, that the media uses to build upon a true life soap opera as their means to gain. I know how this feels, and it is a blow of pain, each time the topic reserfaces. Especially, if there was not justice found, through international, governmental systems. I will pray for the friends and families of the girl. And also have been a victim of sexual assualt. The friends and family may also find solice in that she needs not live with the scars, the stories, the gossip amongst society and sharing that with a potential mate. After such an experience, one's life and nervous system is changed or holds an impression for years of healing. If nothing else, the young girl now rests in peace. I pray this to be of some small consolation, while her loved ones suffer through the media's profit off such a sensitive and harmful story. And "damn" any criminal defense attorney that may try to find things in the victims character to twist as though she was in on, expected, was forewarned, or was into such "extreme sex" turned a violent murder. So is the American Justice sytem, that is will offer the killers this "innocence"until proven without a doubt guilty. God pray her loved one's have a strong attorney to fight this and get it over and out of the press soon. I can relate to the pain in various ways, and wish her loved ones well. And that neighbors and thier social circles can just "shut up" offer condolances with sincerity and also let them move on. Sincerely, Genevieve

yeah here in america everyone is innocent until proven guilty SURE!!! wake up dude!!! values in america STINK and amanda know is some white trash girl that is blaming it all on the black guy, since here in america things like that happena llthe time.

where are you from? not the greatest of responses.

        • Posted By: GeminiII @ 11/17/2007 11:44:41 AM

Why is she white trash? What does his skin color have to do with anything? My father was from the Highlands of Scotland -- does that automatically make him a kilt wearing barbarian? People don't commit crimes because of their skin color or whether or not they grew up in a nice neighbourhood. These things may affect whether one engages in criminal activity or not, but they are not the cause.
My thoughts go out to the victim's family and friends.

I fail to see how Pres. Bush has caused the fear that Americans have been experiencing since 9/11. If memory serves me correctly it was the radical Muslim extremists who attacked our country and continue to make plans for future attacks. I believe THEY are responsible for the fear. Let me also point out that your comment really had nothing at all to do with this sad story.

      • Posted By: helpfulheroine @ 11/16/2007 8:08:44 PM

One's true enemy is itself. America's main enemy is not radical Muslims, it's America - America's reactions, America's interactions, etc. Our country constantly attacks itself by letting itself be attacked (Pearl Harbor, Lusitania, 9/11) so that a small group of people can reap the massive financial benefits. How do you think Hitler duped all of Germany to his side? Propaganda. It's a powerful tool. Obviously, it worked on you.

      Recu - are you serious???
If you are, you are so out of it you probably vote for Bush!

May I remind you that there are hundreds of people subjected to imprisonment and torture in Guatanamo Bay?! Some of them have been held there, without having been charged, without having access to legal help or contact with their family, since 2001.
And there's plenty of fear in the US as well, but there would probably be a lot more if people like you opened your eyes and realised what Bush is doing to your constitution.

People are not guilty until proven innocent in Italy - that's you talking out of your behind!

      • Posted By: Recu @ 11/16/2007 6:34:01 PM

No, I didn't vote for the Bush, I voted for Clinton

        • Posted By: havfruen @ 11/16/2007 7:04:13 PM

          Are you for real?

George W. Bush ran against Al Gore in 2000, and John Kerry in 2004.
But I'm sure Clinton really appreciated your support!

I agree. So much emphasis on the American, pinpointing her as the culprit. I get a sick feeling from reading the paltry, insufficient 2 sentences about that devilish boyfriend of hers that she hadn't dated for more than a month. I don't think this writing is fair. It's sensational. And more questions should be asked about that sick Italien boyfriend of hers. He's the one that needs to be put away (for life)!
