There sure is a lot of fear in this Country, probably due to our president. Remember our values are different then other countries. Here people are innocent till proven guilty. In Italy people are guilty till proven innocent.

      I'm sure you're right. It's George Bush's fault.
Thanks for taking the pressure off of us!

Very fine police work on the part of the Italians. I have to say very swift and detailed. I wish the family of the departed girl well. I hope for justice. At least Amanda and Raffaele will not face the death penalty in Italy.

i don't think this was supposed to be a promotional piece. did you miss the bigger point?

    People:
As I read this article: I never seen any of these people as British, American, Italian or Immigrant. I see each of these idividuals as people. People whom, where ever they are from, they are themselves. The world has become very small in the past 40 years. We no longer live in a seperate countries, we live together on EARTH. Relax, my friends, we all see it as PAIN.

since when did race figure into any of this? we should be thinking of the sad fact that the human race is capable of doing something so sick--and that all you people can talk about is whether or not race had anything to do with it. you're a bunch of racists.

after 2 mo. no one will remember any of this let alone the acts of this generation.

Wow imagine that, a black dude killed someone.....crazy.

    • Posted By: karcer @ 11/16/2007 5:54:00 PM

Excuse me, have you not read this story? The other two suspects are white. Why do you have no racist remarks to spew about that? Your posts are barely worth the effort to reply, if there weren't, sadly, so many other people who thought like you do and don't understand how their views are racist.

It's interesting to see the comments posted here, based on one story in an American magazine, versus the reaction in other countries and the press coverage the story is receiving there. The only thing we know for certain is that Kercher died a horrible death. Meanwhile, I find it interesting how we sit around talking about how Sollecito looks creepy on his Facebook page (with photos that were probably taken for Halloween), or we want to conveniently blame an African immigrant (who has been said to be held in high regard by the local community), or the slutty American student (the old standby stereotype). Sollecito and Knox were only together for 2-3 weeks before this whole thing happened, so it would've been hard for her to dump him "before now" as one commenter suggested. I've been reading the coverage by at least three major Italian newspapers every day since it happened and so far, nothing makes sense.... Two things regarding this Newsweek article, though: first, the photo that was circulated showing a foot sticking out from under a duvet cover was a recreation, not an actual photo and, second, the photos I???ve seen of someone walking through a parking garage are anything but clear.

the human race is a crime...

  • Posted By: renegade @ 11/16/2007 5:48:50 PM

Crime has no color..What is important is to investigate this fully and serve justice...No race is here to commit crimes...

"Comment: Funny how an american sees only the words "she was an american", and takes away from that that the author of this piece is coming down on all americans. And to the person in Seattle...same information for you. I read this with horror and disgust because of the act that these people allegedly did to that poor girl. It never occured to me that they were slagging americans. Just shows how arrogent and self centered you americans really are.

Perhaps out of the rest of the Nationalities mentioned, the Author should have left out the word American Kleo4 but it just so happens SHE WAS AMERICAN. Deal With it.

I fail to see how the author of the "piece" is coming down on anyone and is just writing an unbaised news story about a very tragic event.

This by no means should be a reflection on all Americans no more then your assertion Americans are all arrogant. Don't tell me it didn't occur to you they were slagging Americans when you sound like that is exactly what you'd like to see happen to ALL Americans Kleo4.

Your own hate and prejudice has blinded you and you seem to mis the point on this sad story in it's entirety. I think I speak for all Americans when I say we detest what happened in this story no matter who or where the victim was from.

Now, what was that you were saying about "arrogance"

    sheesh.

One thing I have noticed, state the facts about reality and most people dont react ... talk BS and avoide reality and most people really get into the chat... ha

The white community in America needs to address the issue of why they're raising daughters without morals. There's a definite pattern here. It seems like every day there's a white woman in the news for molesting children, murder, etc.

    • Posted By: bigtime @ 11/16/2007 5:22:30 PM

What a sweeping, ignorant, hypocrital, devisive, racist generalization. Not to mentioned unsubstantiated. Get your head out of your @$$. Your mindset is a key contributor to the race issues in America.

A good point made there,DMKFLA.. Yet where I work at - A state prison in Ohio - almost 70% of the inmates are black. And most of them come from the same neighborhoods.. I can honestly say that it is not just white Americans that needs to start teaching their children to have better morals and values - ALL people, regardless of what race they are and where they live - needs to.
And then, sad to say - you can raise the kid good and they can still make bad decisions... People make bad choices and crime is a choice.

You are ALL killing me. Needed a break. Read these comments, could not stop laughing. Thank you.

This incident is a reminder of the vicious attack against this British native, to the O. J. Simpson attack against Nicole Braun Simpson and Ron Goldman. Kercher was almost decapitated and she was ever so innocent and didn't deserve this cruel attack and death. How obscene!!! It appears that the Italian investigators are really conducting this investigation with a high level of expertise. Kudos to the officials.

Most of you posters, no matter your race or nationality, are ignorant, narrow-minded, racist, idiots and don't even deserve to have your opinions posted. A few at least, show some semblance of an IQ. Why pray tell do people feel they are in any kind of a position to say anything other than, "I'm sorry about the young woman who lost her life." and "I hope the truth does come to light and the responsible parties made to pay for their crimes."

    • Posted By: dottore10 @ 11/16/2007 5:00:39 PM

Thank you remmrtn, I hope you will give us some private lessons in order to become more clever. However you are right about hopefully the guilty will be arrested, at the moment from investigations there are strong clues on all 3, and there is the suspicion there was another person with them
