well...spreading disease can b an ISSUE..but but tat can b taken care of..by no. of authorities who work for animal society..and at the same..if enitire community is together..then it wont make such problematic situations as they say..:)
well ...is it human or monkey...need justified examples....:) Q is about all of the species and not male females..:)) and their habbitat.
Kushal- Why not create a natural habitat out of Delhi.. They can still roam free, the people can still worship them (Is it Wednesdays?) and then it protects the children and people of Delhi from the possibility of disease. India is a very beautiful country. Maybe a park should be established outside of Gurgaon or Delhi.
I traveled to India last year.. Both Delhi and Mumbai (Bombay). We were able to go to a monkey park in Delhi where the monkeys roam free. Even there our driver told us we could take pics and such and then some of the monkeys were screaming at us and headed towards us. Our driver pushed us in the car. The problem with the monkeys is that they are full of rabies and diseases. He told us that you aren't sure which ones are "safe". I understand the Hindi culture, and I agree not to kill the monkeys but Delhi should consider trying to move them out of the city and into a park where they can roam and people can still come and worship them and feed them fruit as a sign of worship to the god Haruman . Bombay doesn't have this same issue as Delh. You don't see so many there. It would be just nice to know that the people of Delhi and children of Delhi are protected from the diseases that they carry.
well CUTE4ever ur ID is forever :) but tell me wat it means when it comes to FREE ..they r compelled to run on streets coz of human act of exploitation of nature ,..so where to push them????????
Why not have a controlled hunt and use the monkey meat for feeding the hungry? Regardless of the religious significance of the monkey the problem is not going away by it's self and the right thing to do is control the population and then force some kind of birth control on the poor things. The problem in India is way out of control. With less animals around they will fight less for food and live better lives and not have to depend on handouts to survive. Look at the Cat and Dog problem in the states, it is no different. I take care of ten abandoned cats, and I have them neutered or spade, give them their shots, take them to the vet if needed and try to find them quality homes. I have had around 25 in the last seven years. It is something I can do to help, but I am just scratching the surface. The best answer is to start controlling the population by educating people on the value of fixing their pets. I live in a place where the unwanted pets get dumped out in the country. It is sad, as all of the cats and dogs I have helped made wonderful pets and they eventually understood they could trust again. A few of these little guys have taken over a year of care to become what I would consider normal. I've been lucky I guess, as I have been able to turn a couple of very wild cats into loving kitties. I kept the one that was the toughest to get to trust, as I am not sure how she would react to a new home. She has become a wonderful part of the family and she has pretty much taken over. She is quite friendly to other cats and helps teach others like a mother. I sure hope I see less this year as it is kind of hard to place adult animals as it seems everyone wants cute little puppies or kittens. This is a very frustrating problem.
That is amazing!! nice comment and " protest ". I had 3 male cats, all fixed. one of them died... but i still have 2 male cats that are fixed and plan on not having babies anytime of their fixed life. LOVE NOT HATE ANIMALS!!! THEIR A GIFT!!
Since I have been to India.. Last year actually in Delhi and Bombay.. the problem with the monkeys is that most of them carry rabies. We were able to go to a "monkey park" to see them in their natural habitat, but our drivers warned us not to get too close because of the diseases that they carry. He allowed us to get out and take pictures but we had one come up to attack us and our driver had to protect us. I agree that they should live but I am not sure if they should live exactly "free". I understand the Hindi culture, but you also have to protect the monkeys and the people at the same time. We didn't see hardly any in Mumbai (Bombay) just in Delhi and remote spots of India.
the one comment i made aqt 6:51 is not as good as the last one i just made...
Its not the mokeys or the citezens fualt, as they said, most of the city is made up of hindus, which respect nature and animals, i bet when they heard of the news that the forest is going down, they were not happy, and so they protested. Its the frikin government.. and if this is too late to solve, then build a place that imitates the monkeys' natural habitat. Do it before they get confortable in the streets and homes of people.. because not all people there are hindus. ( some people like to sell or eat monkeys, so they'll come here. Dont kno whhy, its always just OMONEYMONEYMONEY these days)
Monky is right.. but that doesn't stop the fact that they should have " zoos " that imitate their natural habitat, because they are in danger in cities, and so are the people in it. With places that have plants just like thier habitat and bugs and such, they can keep these monkeys safe. Why should both have to suffer, its not like all the citizens agreed to cut down their forests.. i mean, its always the government, and as they said, their hindus so their have must of been a protest to cutting it down......... U considered dat?!
well well well ..so APE is bac to city ...Nice to c them though Menace..but who is responsible...ultimately MAN whos has given them CITY in place of JUNGLE....so shud be acted positively...coz golden rule is LIVE n LET LIVE....both species desevre equality of space..
...LIVE n LET LIVE
HMMMMM,NOTHING LIKE A GOOD OL BOWL OF MONKEY GUMBO!!
After all the information that we are the creaters of the problem, that we destroy habitat, and animals have to adapt and seek new opportunities, shelter and food wherever they can, there are posts like this... There are also homeless people and they are a pest, and I don't see anyone saying SHOOT THEM!! On the contraire, you all feed, give cloths and love them... It's sweet...
time for some monkey gumbo !
it' is people who are encroaching on the the monkeys' territories, not the other way around. this problem is the result of overdevelopment, and the destruction of their natural habitats (basically corporate greed). the monkeys are not to blame, they deserve to live on this planet just as much as we do. this comments suggesting a conrolled hunt and refering to the monkeys as a "problem" is truly idiotic. open your eyes and wake up.

canadaboy, you're probably in the wrong country, you should go to America where all the fanatics are, praising they're word as they were Jesus... You're probably one of the fewer Canadians that are PRO for the killing of baby seals, too. The monkeys go to the cities because there is opportunity and free food, isn't that why the homeless exist? For you the solution for those would also be: Shoot Them All!!! Right?
.....Animals part of the earth..love them and not hate..
