Hillary is not fine tuned, that woud meaen she is running for a reason, not just running.

    • Posted By: norocksquatterhere @ 11/17/2007 12:30:27 AM

What do you mean 'Hillary is not fine tuned?' She is just like a robot, everything is computerized to a T!
I hope she wins too, we can whip her easily!

Ya know, I did not see anything but disgrace and disgust when Hillary and Bill were in Office with the creator of the World Wide Web Al Gore. I can't in good conscience vote for her for alot of the same reasons I did not vote for Bill. If she had contributed something for the country when her husband was in office we might be talking a different storry, but I think she was probably watching Bill and Monica the whole time all that was going on..
Plus all this about mud slinging and crying of the Republicans...HA! That is all we have heard for almost 8 years is crying and snibling from the Democrats since the Republicans took the Presidency. Can you imagine what kind of country we would have right now if Al Gore had been in office when those planes slammed into the side of the trade buildings? I dont even want to think about it.
I do think though our country has been sold a bill of goods by all the politicians and how they are going to reform the tax structure in this country and they have all been liars..All they did was structure it a little more for the wealthy. Well pretty quick we won't have a country that we can enjoy the fruits of our labor because their won't be any fruit if they keep draining the working class the way they are doing.
So I say like one of the other bloggers said. "Revolution is just a step away and Power back to the People is needed"!!!!!!!!!!

georgiabraveheart: Sic 'em- I agree with you down the line! The other blogger has it right also:
"Revolution is just a step away and POWER to the People is needed"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it." -- Albert Einstein

Nothing but disgrace during the whole Clinton administration? Most of the disgraceful items you are reflecting on came to naught. It was just the republican houses "wasting time" with whatever potential scandal, trying to discredit the president. Just as Bush is accusing the current house of doing (as they question the details behind the money lost on/in this war in Iraq). Clinton left the white house with the economy going up and our deficit going down, the reserves left have of course been rapidly depleted by the Bush years....and was it $9 trillion dollars I heard recently for our current national debt?

Hillary was not born with a silver spoon, she knows what is like to struggle. A woman will do a better job at the helm . Give her a chance.

  • Posted By: tigerlilyno @ 11/16/2007 10:16:48 PM

Yeah, right. She had a good night. What do you expect? When questions are planted (again), the audience is Clinton supporters hand-picked at the last minute, and the post debate commentary is by her unacknowledged current advisor Carville, she should have looked a whole lot better.

    • Posted By: Steven Daytona Beach @ 11/16/2007 10:43:49 PM

haha! hand picked audience? where do you get that from? she got 22 tickets, the same as all the other candidates, then half the rest of the tickets were given out by unkv to students and half by the democratic party. also in the post debate i guess you didn't notice david gergen, who worked for ronald reagan and george hw bush before spending a few months writing speeches for president clinto. and oh yeah, who was that other guy? oh,! that was JC Watts, the self=proclaimed clinton hater and one of the most hard-line far-right neoconservative people walking on the face of the earth. even he was able to give kudos to hillary for a great performance, why can't you? i'd say you have some real personal issues you should seek therapy for. tell your therapist that you have this intense hate for hillary not based on anything she has done or said, just based on what others say. if you're honest with your therapist i'm sure he can help you get a hold on you psychological dysfunction.

After watching parts of the debate, I would want everyone of the candidates on my side working for me in there specific field. I believe they would represent this country well. Being a Native American I have a good feeling about Hillary. She has more cojones than most men and posesses the ability and strength to run this nation . I think the first four years will be a warm up.
    She's tough!!!!

  • Posted By: cna0705 @ 11/16/2007 11:44:10 AM

As a native New Yorker who DID NOT VOTE for Hillary to become senator in a state where she did not belong nor knew anything about.....

She is a liar and conniver, which is worse than a manipulator. She is not using her intelligence (if she has any), she is using her gender and ability to raise money as a platform.

Debates are nothing more than entertainment value these days... so this 'attacking' tactic used by all candidates should not be surprising.

    • Posted By: andysgal59 @ 11/16/2007 3:27:58 PM

It is not unusual for someone wanting to become a Senator or Representative to change their legal home of residence. Another example of this is Arlan Specter who actually was raised in Kansas and represented Pennsylvania.

      • Posted By: Steven Daytona Beach @ 11/16/2007 10:22:09 PM

you can also add robert f. kennedy who represented new york, but was from massachusettes, elizabeth dole representing south carolina but from kansas, barack obama from hawaii representing illinois, the list goes on and on. i would dare say(without having anything factual to base this on, just knowledge of politics) that a great many people have been elected to represent a state where they were not born or grew up. another non-starter for an arguement.

  • Posted By: SanDiego007 @ 11/16/2007 4:40:04 PM

San Diego average home cost is $500,000 - and that small house would be located in a sketchy part of the city. Gas is over $3.60/gal. and seems to be heading quickly towards $4.00. A family earning only $97,000 would barely get by here - good luck with that. I imagine they would be considered rich in the South.

    • Posted By: sparks08 @ 11/16/2007 9:36:46 PM

It is considered wealthy here in the south(my area) and the shame is gas this morning was at 3.09/gallon. Imagine what is like to work for 7.00/hour to have to pay that amount for gas. I am sure the south is not the only area in this great big country with a heavy population of very poor people.

  • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:28:50 PM

I sort of hope Hillary gets the Dem. nomination - that would be the perfet things to get Rep.s back together.

  • Posted By: misere @ 11/16/2007 2:31:35 PM

As one of her most stubborn critics, she has not only won my approval, but my vote. Edwards was likeable because he had a good heart and well meaning ideas..but...resorting to dirty mud-slinging has taken away that likeability and with it, he's lost not only my respect, but any edge he had over his competitors, and any charm. Obama, I appreciate and like, but he's just NOT ready to be president and his constant error in fact and attempted wisdom only puts his inexperience on display. He speaks too quickly and acts without considering the consequence of his words or actions! These are NOT good qualities in a president, and I just won't vote for him right now.

But Hilary? Strong, Determined, and Knowledgeable.

Guess that makes me a "Hilary Girl." because those are the kind of things I WANT in a president, and quite frankly, we're overdue for someone of her caliber to lead our country.

    • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:26:30 PM

If you are a Dem, admit it. "As one of her strongest critics", seriously, all you do is tout your party. Telling people you are a not a supporter, then saying what you do about others hides nothing - good try.

    • Posted By: tokivc @ 11/16/2007 6:39:00 PM

hillary is weak, unknowledgeable and a liar like her husband, a New Yorker!!!!!

    • Posted By: Older and Wiser @ 11/16/2007 4:29:14 PM

By your definition of "mud-slinging" Clinton has dirty hands herself for suggesting that Edwards is "like Bush" and "using Republican tactics.' I have not heard either Edwards or Obama say anything personal and negative about Clinton. This is a fabrication that her campaign is spinning. I doubt if you ever considered supporting either Edwards or Obama. Are you a Plant?

    • Posted By: Older and Wiser @ 11/16/2007 4:24:50 PM

By your definition of mud-slinging, Hillary Clinton is doing so when she accuses John Edwards of "being like Bush' and "Republican tactics" and so forth. Edwards has made no "attacks" on her that are as negative as some of the comments she has made about him. I doubt that you ever supported Edwards.

  • Posted By: SanDiego007 @ 11/16/2007 4:27:06 PM

Clinton was the only one who acted Presidential. It was interesting to watch - all of the men attacking her at once. It seemed a desperate and failing strategy.

    • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:22:55 PM

Hold on - I remember debates on teh past 10-12 years - and MR. Clinton made a ocmment that "acting" presidential doean;t mean you can do the job.

  • Posted By: SanDiego007 @ 11/16/2007 5:00:44 PM

    Clinton lied, nobody died -------------------------------------------
Bush lied, hundreds of thousands have died (counting Iraqi civilians) I'll take Clinton for 0, thank you :-)

    • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:19:56 PM

Clinton lied, nobody died - oops - I guess Bosnia, Sudan, and others don't matter? he knew about the atrocities in teh Sudan and did nothing but mess with Monica.

  • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:08:31 PM

HIllary is a good politician - that is far different than a good leader. JFk was a good politican, and did relatively nothing in the White House. He has been immortalized for getting lucky in Cuba, and that's about it. I know the Dem's will claim they were the ones leading the charge for Equal rigths for minorities and women - look it up - the Republicans has a higher percentage vote fo these things than the Dem's. Sorrry

  • Posted By: grantzy @ 11/16/2007 7:48:50 PM

Hillary was very fine tuned and extremely positive. She is the commander-in-chief we need. She has the experience, the fortitude and the education to lead us out of these troubled times. Anyone watching the 11/15/07 debate knew that Hillary was the prime candidate the Democrats should nominate for President.

    • Posted By: dissatisfied New Yorker @ 11/16/2007 9:04:09 PM

experience - at what? Folks, she has never been in charge of anything except as a Senator in NY, and she is destroying it!

  • Posted By: kool_baby777 @ 11/16/2007 1:45:03 PM

    iN RESPONSE TO:
She is truly a leader, in every sense of the word. "The Boys" cannot touch her.

    Based on WHAT???????????????????????

Her healthcare fiasco a few years back? She led that right into the toilet.

Geez, who in their right might can see leader in this lady and back it up with some facts?

Ask our miliary who they want to lead them. I can guarantee you the last name isn't Clinton.

RON PAUL - most contributions from our military both current and past

There, I just answered that question for you ignorant one.

    • Posted By: andysgal59 @ 11/16/2007 3:25:35 PM

Hillary's "health care fiasco" was not hers. The insurance companies and drug companies do not want universal health care; it means an end to their incredible profits. Look at the Medicare drug plans they are still do not save Medicare recipients much when the cost of the plans is considered into the equation. Due to the special interests no universal health care plan will ever pass into law in this country. Hillary's only mistake was she was too naive to think she could overcome the special interests in this company like insurance companies.

      • Posted By: kool_baby777 @ 11/16/2007 4:15:42 PM

No Hillary's only mistake is believing she is actually fooling the nation into thinking she would have a chance in h e l l to get anything done FOR the people she cares SO MUCH about. Have you gotten your check from China yet? They appreciate your devotion!

        • Posted By: Steven Daytona Beach @ 11/16/2007 8:58:47 PM

kool-idiot: no one will be getting a check from China anytime soon. All they will be getting is a bill asking for the repayment of the loans that this president and the previously republican congress used to finance this "war on terrorism" that supposedly would pay for itself with all the oil profits from Iraq. What a joke you are. You tell people to check the facts, maybe you should check a few for yourself. Tell me where you get this statement about how most of the military supports Ron Paul? And by the way, maybe you should "read the Constitution"...it's "Commander 'IN' Chief", not Commander AND Chief. While you're checking all these so called facts, maybe you should go to the library and check out a book on taking the General Equivalency Diploma exam. You see your problem is you try to put forth an uneducated arguement that is based on a personal feeling as opposed to facts(which you so readily claim to be quoting) and any person with a 6th grade education can see right through you and your totally flawed arguements. Do yourself and your family a favor, shut up and stop embarassing yourself.

I can not believe that Sen. Clinton is ahead in the national polls. Is anyone that claims to be voting for her listening to her? She can't answer direct questions that she hasn't memorized an answer for without using her laugh as a space filler as she thinks of a way to get out of questions. I think that the fact that she has taken money from criminals, twice, and she isn't ethical enough to not plant questions and tell the truth while speaking, makes her a bad choice for President of the U.S.. I am tired of leaders that are not leading by example. Besides, she is no Bill, until she lies.
P.S. I am a nationally ranked college level debator from Phi Kappa Delta, and a woman. I am ready to vote for a woman to do the job, just not Sen. Clinton!

    • Posted By: Steven Daytona Beach @ 11/16/2007 7:34:46 PM

It amazes me that you people- both obama supporters and the media are trying to make an issue out of the "planted question" fiasco! Did you hear the question? It was a question about where she stands on global warming! Seriously! How does having someone ask you about global warming make you a bad person? It doesn't, it just allows you to get a point across that gets very little attention when people ask questions in these town hall type meetings. Also, you are really naive if you think that other candidates and people from any "news conference " forum don't have planted questions or favorable reporters in the audience to do the same thing. It's nothing more than making sure an issue gets discussed. Again the question was "where do you stand on global warming and what will you do about it?" How in God's name does that question favor her in anyway, other than allowing her to say something on an issue that doesn't seem to be on the media's top ten list of questions. Probably because it doesn't create any controversy. And if you really listened to the debate innnnnnphlyand her comments afterwards, you would understand that she never said 'I am in favor of giving illealllllllllllllllicense', she said she understood what the governor was trying to do and supported him for trying to do something about what the administration that has failed completely and miserably on doing. Also if you hold Hillary to such high and stringent standards of not being able to change a position, why don't you mention every other candidate on that stage" Eg, obama on his four different positions this year on social security; edwards on his voting for trade agreements and then criticizing them, and not supporting universal health care then supporting it. Politicians take positions on issues based on what they believe, sometimes when they switch positions it is because the people they were elected to represent disagree with that position. And so they change their position to do what they were elced to do: represent their constituancy.

  • Posted By: stentoner @ 11/16/2007 1:05:36 PM

Why does Hillary think she is qualified to be President? She's held no elective office until recently; she's has no business experience worth mentioning; she's never been in the military; she's never been in much of a leadership position or displayed leadership; she is divisive and polarizing to the populace; her baggage includes Whitewater, demeaning motherhood (comments about baking cookies), and her husband's misconduct. All she offers is talk and plans - she has no substantive solutions or record to examine. Most likely she'd govern by consensus, waffle a lot, and be a disaster ala Jimmy Carter. She's in a no-lose position...regardless of the outcome, she has politically advanced the cause of women. Perhaps one day, America will a viable candidate with governing experience, leadership and communication skills who is a woman. But it ain't today, and it ain't Hillary.

Hey kool_baby777, what are you talking about. 35 years of experience doing what? Being a lawyer and a mother and wife of a President? Didn't run any large organization, hasn't any foreign experience, wasn't appointed to anything of note. I'm talking about experience that instructs and matures a person, not simply leading a successful life. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Bed rest may help.

At least Howard Fineman noted that Hillary Clinton evaded the question about NAFTA. AS I recall she also chuckled when she made her comments. The impact of NAFTA on families and communities is nothing to laugh about and I hope that some of the other candidates call her on this (since the media seems to have abandoned this role). Ditto for her definition of "middle class." That is going to be a surprise here in Iowa!

    • Posted By: sparks08 @ 11/16/2007 5:43:27 PM

I noticed her chuckle. You know I understand that 97,000 in CA is considered middle class to some but I dont live in CA (like a huge population of us don't) 97,000. a year is very much upper class. CAFTA has devasted my area--I live in the notorious 8th district of NC---the region where Rep. Robin Hayes really stuck it to his constituents when he did the about face and voted yes for CAFTA. He admitted he did it for political favors promised to the 8th district by the republican party. Needless to say the promises were broken and so was the spirit of alot of hard working good people who are forced to work for a little more for minimum wage at Wal-Mart or be unemployed. I am just sick and tired of these people who never stop and think about areas whose income is so far below theirs. You know we aren't asking for a share of their(politicians) million dollar lobbyist funded pie--we just don't want the little we have(in camparison to them) stolen from us and to be slapped in the face by their lies. Do all you can in Iowa to get someone like Kucinik or Paul that hasnt accepted money from special interest voted in. I'll do my part in NC. This is our country we need to take it back!

It was very enjoyable to see Obama tripping over his own feet for a change. For once questions that seem reserved for Hillary Clinton during the last debate, this time around were put to the three front runners, and this were the difference. John Edwards must realise, he is not a trusted man, the American public are not going to buy his crap about not being perfect. They were never a perfect politician, and we don't expect one either. He is a liar, just like the croonies running on the other side. Now is the time for the others, Biden and co, take a deep breath and decide if they should be hanging on in this race. The best of the bunch, is Governor Richardson, who seems honest enough in outlining what he stands for.

  • Posted By: feddup @ 11/16/2007 4:57:25 PM

The only reason Madame Clinton will need her asbestos britches for is to protect her from the fires of hades as she fries for all the lies she has and continues to tell for the last 35 years.
