Is it me or does Hillary's line make no sense. "...when somebody starts throwing mud, at least we can hope that it's both accurate and right out of the Republican playbook." So we should hope that it's accurate. And we should hope its right out of the Republican playbook. why would I ever hope anything is right out of the Republican playbook. I think I understand what she is saying, it was not executed correctly and I wouldn't give her any points this round like every one on the Hillary bandwagon wants to. Remember Kerry's botched joke? We all knew what he was saying but its not what he said.
Regardless, I wish team Hillary would stop pretending they're above the fray. If any campaign has done any mud sliging it is hers. All they care about is power. They have done nothing but criticize and spin every other candidate. And give me a break on not playing the gender card. Who are you really trying to convince the voters or yourself. This is one Iowa Democrat that is going to have some difficulty voting this year if she gets the nomination. Wake up America, she ain't Bill and the good old days aren't gonna come back just because a Clinton is in the White House.

    Go Edwards/Obama 08!!!

You did not hear or read the comment correctly. Or what you read was typed wrong. She did not say "we can hope that it's both accurate and right out of the Republican playbook." She said, "we can hope that it's both accurate and NOT right out of the Republican playbook." So as you can see...the word "not" really makes a huge difference. I watched a clip of her comment and I'm correct on what she actually said.

I sincerely believe that if Obama and Edwards declared themselves to be "The Democratic Ticket" they would pull the rug right out from under Hillary's candidacy. Too many Democrats are searching for an alternative to the Bush/Clinton/Clinton/Bush/Bush/Clinton syndrome.

This Iowan believes the country will wake up on January 4 to a new frontrunner. His name is John Edwards. No polls indicate that; just a gut feeling after talking to many Iowa caucus-goers over the past several weeks. Regardless, it's going to be a much tighter race than the media is leading us to believe.

Your mouth to God's ear. Do you have a pulpit?!

What I would like to know is this: why, when he is the only viable alternative to Clinton and Obama, did John Edwards get less time to talk last night than either Biden or Kucinich, neither of whom has any realistic chance of winning the nomination? Why was he seated off to the side instead of next to the other front-runners? It really makes you start to believe that the media is out to get him, as his campaign has alleged. For some reason they are trying to force-feed us Clinton and Obama (especially Clinton), maybe because they are owned by big corporations that are scared sh*tless of an Edwards presidency. Hopefully people will see how unfairly Edwards is being treated and it will make them angry.

I would like to see the American public show some insight and some spine and say "You are not going to choose our president for us. WE will choose our own president. We're not as stupid as you seem to think we are. We will choose the person that's going to do the most for us, and we can't be bought, bullied, or tricked into voting for the candidate that you want us to elect so that you can continue to flourish at our expense." That's what I want to see happen, and that's what I think WILL happen.

As far as Edwards changing his positions on things like universal healthcare from a few years back, that's ok. People change over the years. They have time to reflect, they see the error of their ways, and they change paths. That's entirely different from what Hillary Clinton has done over the past couple weeks regarding drivers licenses for illegal aliens. Two weeks ago she said she was for them, then she stuck her finger in the wind and realized that was an unpopular position. So last night she changed her position. Hillary Clinton is just a double-talking politician.

And furthermore, I think nominating Hillary is a great way for the Democrats to up the odds that they will lose the 2008 election, which should be theirs for the taking. Winning New York is a WHOLE OTHER DEAL from winning the United States. Maybe Hillary can win New York, but can she win Texas? Montana? Tennessee? NO. Hillary Clinton cannot win conservative rural districts. Period.

How can anyone vote for Hillary Clinton? Even I could say that I will get a bi-lateral commision to solve all the world's problems, which is what I continue to hear from her. We already have that group - it's called Congress. What we need is someone to lead, not get another languishing group together.

This Ohioan also believes John Edwards has many more latent supporters than indicated by current polls. His campaign is right to concentrate on appealing to actual voters and in refusing funding from big money lobbyists on principle. If we elect our next leaders based primarily on their support among our financial elites and their media enablers then our national health can only continue to deteriorate. I urge all voters to consider John Edwards and other principled candidates on their own merits, and to not be lulled by our commercial media into supporting candiidates based soley on their appeal to large contributors and special interest advocates.

This Iowan believes that Edwards will, indeed, astonish the country by winning the January 3 caucuses. No polls tell me that. But that's the sense I get from talking to many Iowans over the past several weeks.

I agree that Edwards will be the winner-I tell all the way from New Jersey !

John Edward's downfall was his self portrayal as coming from poverty. Nonsense. However, he is the only candidate of either party who seems to be concerned about poor people.

He seems desperate at this point. Why? Would anyone really want him to be president? He had a totatlly meaninfless term as a Senator - why would he suddenly become a good president. Not that anyone wouldn't be better than Bush and his syncophants today!

I think Edwards/ Biden is the ticket I'd most like to see. They in my opinion they are the most sincere, honest, realilty based candidates on either side. Hillary is becoming more intolerable with each passing day.
Edwards wants to do what ever he can for the people of this country, Hillary, what every she can for her own selfish ego. That is exactly what I see!

What brought John down was his own rhetoric. His claim to be poor was suspect at best and spurious at worse. However, since he was the only democratic candidate who seemed genuinely concerned about poor people. As for the republican candidates - forget it. They could care less about poor people!

What in the world has made Iowa the state who decides who is the nominee or not. The state is hardly representative of America at large and the folksy portrayal of its citizens as average Americans is ludicrous. The same holds true for New Hampshire. Both states are important, but hardly set the tone for the rest of America.
