    Warhorse,

I couldn't have said it better, You're a good man.

I am quite surprised that newsweek would publish such a vulgar article. Was Roves point that an old woman reffered to Hillary as a "***" really relavant to the point of the artcle? No, it was simply another low-blow by Rove, who is a sick man mentally. But ultimately, Newsweek should be reprimanded for printing something so offensive and vulgar. Would it be ok for Hillary's campaign tem to respond and refer to Rove as a "Dickhead?" No. The quality of newsweeks article pale in comparison to magazines such as the Economist, where the level of writing and analysis rises far above the pop culture lowest common denominator style of NewsWeek.

barryh22, guess statistics weren't your strong point, Hey, I'll take my chances with starvation here in the good ol' usa..... I was actually more worried about heart disease and obesity. What did I know? But seriously, why don't you volunteer to go to Irak so you can get out of harm's way, since obviously our troops have it so good in the theater of war. Good God, I've promised myself to quite taking the bait from imbeciles. Call it a public sacrifice....

One final point: Where does that usually reliable purveyor of fashionable chatter (ie Newsweek) get off invited a rogue like Rove to write an (unreadable) column in their mag? Whatever sells? Moving into National Enquirer territory? Shame on you, Newsweek.... Rove, however, is beneath contempt.

Mr. Rove, your mirror story reminds me of the push polling you did in South Carolina in during the 2000 primaries. Thant was very clever. Your capaign polsters called regular folks asking questions concerning John McCain's family. Remember this question, and I'm paraphrasing, "Would you be more likely or less likely to fvote for John McCain if you knew he fathered an illegitimate black child?" In South Carolina? You were not interested in the numbers. You simply wanted to plant that idea in voters minds. That was low especially since Johm McCain was campaigning with his adopted daughter. She was from Asia and dark skinned. Another

It's obvious Rove was planting a seed for the Republican party. Let's make Hillary look unfit for such a commanding position, too concerned with femininity (full-length mirror). Rove isn't favourable to the public eye, but was the "brain child" behind the bush administration. Love him or hate him, he's knows what he's talking about.

Dear Epeterseno506, Hey that is soooooo cool that your portfolio is up under Bush! Let's base all economic policy on what works for you! Again, don't leave America, or that impression of wealth may just evaporate like a budget surplus under that wunderkid GW. What a prince! Hey, why not 3 terms (constitutional amendment anyone? We could include compulsory execution for flag burners.) So the boy can finish the job. With patriots like you (read scoundrels, who needs enemies?

  • Posted By: epetersen0506 @ 11/19/2007 6:38:31 PM

Slidemike are you serious? If you are, you need serious help as you have deep, deep issues, if not that was pretty funny! Both parties have people who strive to make money - our country was built on democracy AND capitalism. The red states seem now to be clustered in the mid-west and I don't know if you've been there lately but it certainly doesn't have the wealth of the bay area, NYC, or Seattle all traditional liberal communities.

My vote will be simple - Hiliary would raise taxes across the board. That is very, very bad for the US economy. Oh, and slidemike - I'm not rich but my portfolios is looking awesome since Bush took office. I'm not saying he's a great President, I think it is clear that most people think he is not, but the market is up!

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 7:05:59 PM

Hey peterson--RED STATES--They love their GUNS...The republican party better really kiss the NRA's ass because thats the only base they have left. More importantly--the ONLY reason these people, for the most part, are republican!

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:57:53 PM

STAY THE COURSE PETERSON--FISCAL IRRESPONSIBILITY, REAGANOMICS, BUSH IS THE MAN--STAY HOT KID!

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:55:05 PM

HEY PETERSON--I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT YOUR ING ACCOUNT! GET ON THE PHONE WITH YOUR BROKER! THE PAAT 2 MONTHS YOU'VE TAKE A BEATING! ADMIT IT, YOU'LL ONLY LOOK MORE MORONIC IF YOU DENY IT! DON'T WORRY IT'LL GET A LOT WORSE BEFORE IT GETS BETTER! GOOOO BUSH

      PETERSON, STICK WITH ING !

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:48:45 PM

Wake up! You obviosly have know one in your life to care about. If you did you would be concerned with the tab they will have to pick up for this presidents irresponsible actions. GREED obviosly cosumes you!

I'm all for free speach, but since I pay for this magazine, I am seriously considering cancelling. This jackass has NOTHING to say to the American public, and I'm certainly not interested in his sexist rants against Hilary. His mirror story is telling--more about him than her. The truth doesn't matter. His telling and re-telling of his litle story implied just what he wanted it to. He has done more damage than Nixon to the fabric of our nation. We will only see the extent of his Machiavellian manipulations as we climb out of the disaster we're in both at home and abroad. I pray whoever takes office next, whether it is a woman, a black man, or another white guy can start to undo the damage. I hope he or she starts by bringing our troops home--on January 10th 2008.

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:27:26 PM

Very well said. ROVE and his cronies treat the American People like MORONS. A person with half a brain could see passed the mirror story and realize exactly what his intention was!

      • Posted By: KINGofthemountain @ 11/19/2007 6:57:57 PM

I'm with you Slidemike, Rove was mearly diminishing Hillary's stature with the mirror story. Make her look unfit for such a commanding position. Rove was establishing a foothold for the Republican party.

epeterseno506, actually mate, if you look at the market in any other currency but devalued dollars (did I say budget deficit?? Did I say tax breaks for the obscenely well-to-do?), the market isn't up. Or haven't you traveled yet this century? Or, by the way, I loved Hillary's baking comment. Haven't really liked much sense. Americans, get a grip. We are seriously being challenged to come to our senses. Not to drop bombs or start another war, no, the challenge lies elsewhere. Oh, by the way, the general level of outrage here is good.

  • Posted By: roxycat @ 11/19/2007 6:47:45 PM

Karl Rove is nasty, slimy pudgy little man. His retelling of this so-called mirror story was a thinly veiled attempt at implying that Mrs. Clinton is a vain, shallow woman because she had a (gasp!) full-length mirror in her office. As for the GOP, it would be refreshing for all concerned if their candidate spoke of health care, families, job, taxes, etc., because they truly believe it and not just as a tactic to get elected.

  • Posted By: newsweekkrapmag @ 11/19/2007 6:44:34 PM

Rove, go get indicted. Admit it, you work for the antiChrist. Sorry, did I say that? I meant George Bush. Can I say *** on this blog? Oh Karl, you know what I mean. Go find a rock, crawl under it and call it home. Why should waste intelligent comments on a propaganist such as yourself. Shame on you! Rove. Become irrelevant for the sake of the country.

  • Posted By: commonsenseparty @ 11/19/2007 6:36:07 PM

Unfortunately, Hillary is un-electable. She comes across as superior and abrasive. I have no doubt she is an extremely intelligent and competent person who would certainly do a better job than Bush, but too many people just can't stand her. Anyone recall her "I didn't stay at home baking cookies" comment?

    • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:43:52 PM

COMMONSENSE my ***! Wake up man! People love her! More people love BILL! She CAN'T LOSE and right-wing wackos know it! People can easily remember how great the times were during the CLINTON ERA! Especially compared to this Administration full of pompous JACKASSES!

  • Posted By: acey @ 11/18/2007 11:26:31 PM

I know news week has to print the news, but if what this man has to say is the only news you can find in this corruptable country we live , I`ll not buy your news anymore. I`am sick of Carl Rove and his republican tongue. Now that he`s undercover from the white house, why don`t he just shut up. Maybe Bush ought to go to China and find some better mouth pieces, this one stinks.

    • Posted By: raleylola@hotmail.com @ 11/19/2007 6:42:05 PM

Too late for Bush to go to China for a new mouthpiece as you suggest.....I believe all the Chinese ones have been taken by Hillary...after all isn't she the one receiving all the huge campaign donations from the Chinese...if the Hsu fits........

    • Posted By: raleylola@hotmail.com @ 11/19/2007 6:35:11 PM

Too late for Bush to get Chinese mouthpieces as you suggest....I believe Hillary (and Bill before her) have a monopoly on the Chinese...after all, isn;'t Hillary the one receiving huge campaign donations from Hsu and others...just say in'.....

  • Posted By: barryh22 @ 11/19/2007 6:39:59 PM

She will never be president of the United States, she still stands on blaming the Bush administration while campaigning, she is not battling the Bush administration, he is gone, she needs to quit referring to it, it makes her look like a complete idiot

  • Posted By: roxycat @ 11/19/2007 6:35:30 PM

Karl Rove is, and always has been, a nasty piece of work. Any honest person worth their salt would certainly think twice before taking his advice. The story he "says" he told about the mirror makes crystal-clear his manipulative agenda. By telling this story he could imply that a vain, shallow WOMAN is the only person who has a FULL-LENGTH (gasp!) mirror in her office. He's a low-life pudgy little slime of a man.

    • Posted By: commonsenseparty @ 11/19/2007 6:39:06 PM

      Well said, Roxycat!

  • Posted By: slidemike @ 11/19/2007 6:33:57 PM

TWO CLINTONS ARE FAR BETTER THAN TWO BUSHS' AND A HUNDRED MORE REPUBLICANS (COMBINED)!

  • Posted By: HotConflict @ 11/19/2007 6:33:00 PM

Interesting to note that Rove had specifically mentioned going after minorities and other demographic groups. The other interesting thing that has always plagued the Republicans is the fact that they assume Hillary is the inevitable nominee of the Democratic party.
The democrats have to come up with a new focus on how to Win the War. http://www.HotConflict.com

  • Posted By: urmine @ 11/19/2007 6:28:15 PM

For the first time in my life, I see no viable person running for president. As far as Rove goes, I wonder if Hillary paid him to come out with that. He is as hated in this country as his ex boss. The house and the Senate all, both parties have fell to the power and greed that politics seem always to bring. Who will I vote for? I don't know yet, but I can tell you who I will not vote for,, I am from Arkansas, It will be neither Hillary or the baptist preacher.

  • Posted By: charliehorse222 @ 11/19/2007 6:25:26 PM

Karl certainly knows what he is talking about, particularly the Clintons'. Do you think Hillary will be the ONLY Clinton in the White House, if so, who will be the First Man? Think again, raise the taxes, than raise the taxes and look for another reason to raise the taxes!! Why would the Clintons' change their home address to New York state, did you ever think about it? She is good at planting questioners and we all know the Clinton clan is famous for, shall we say, "not answering a question truthfully". It's obvious that Hillary has already started, it must be in her DNA!
