Mr. Rove, the GOP nominee you have just described, is Mike Huckabee. On every point- authentic on what he believes, optimistic and visionary for our country, clear on the need for victory in Iraq, able to garner minority votes (48% of African American votes when he was governor of Arkanasas for over 10 years), issues important to families, dealing with the "health" problem, not "health-care" problem, etc., etc. Vote Huckabee!

Karl Rove made the following statement--"As people do better, they start voting like Republicans--unless they have too much education and vote Democratic" Rove, how much education is too much? Does Rove favor eliminating colleges?

There will be two commercials that will do Hillary in and for which no defense will be sufficient.

First, there will be one recounting the $100,000 trading profit she made in cattle futures as a first and last-time trader. Then there will be interviews of real traders talking about the likelihood of doing such a thing. The only conclusion: the profits were a payoff.

Second, there will be a commercial once Rudy is selected that will contrast Rudy kicking Arafat out of Lincoln Center and tearing up the $10 million check. It will be contrasted with Hillary hugging Mrs. Arafat after the terrorists wife accused Israel of using gas on Palestinians.

That is all that needs to be said.

What crap. Why doesn't Rove talk about what REALLY needs to be done to beat Hilary? Unleash anonymous attack groups to run "issue" ads that blatantly lie and spread gossip and false inuendo about the candidates. Commission groups to do "push poll" phone calls. Put officials from your party in charge of falsely and illegally purging legitimate voters from voting lists, use "caging" lists to disenfranchise military members who's ethnic and economic backgrounds make them more likely to vote Democratic, and have your smears distributed and rehearsed by top political operatives in the Republican party for constant, rehearsed repetition on mainstream media argument shows. Be ready to cry about "liberal bias" if anyone insists on trying to make someone verify facts or speak genuinely about the issues.

Why Newsweek finds it necessary to give such a large platform to someone who's only "contribution" has been the debasement of political discourse and the elevation of "winning" over the democratic process is beyond me.

What crap. Why don't you ask Rove what he'd REALLY do? Hire faceless agents to smear and lie about her, spread inudendo and gossip, the more outrageous the better, coordinate the right-wing noise machine to coordinate and repeat the smears, verbatim, non-stop, and complain about "bias" if anyone asks for an authentic, unscripted and factually verified take on the issues.

Why Newsweek feels it necessary to give a platform to a person who has done more to debase our political process than anyone in history is beyond me.

If you are trusting and following Rove's advice, you are trusting and following the the WRONG advice.
Rove only cares about a Republican empire, NOT America as a whole! Please, America, don't let Rove
    fool us again!

"Calculating," he sais about Hillary Clinton. Please! He created the worst President in the history of the country. His role in "selling" of George Bush to naive voters is so much more than calculating - how about Frankenstein?

The Libtards who read this parody of a news magazine apparently can't abide anything that doesn't fit into their dogmatic narrative of recently revised history. I'll bet most of these posters didn't even read the (emminently innocuous) article lest they chance piercing their protective bubble of misinformation. I guess there is always Time Magazine.....

  • Posted By: pwandersen @ 11/19/2007 1:20:19 AM

Did Rove also invent the lie that Clinton's staff had trashed the White House when they were leaving in January 2001? And was he the one who invented the lies about Saddam having WMDs and the capability of creating nuclear weapons? Let's go directly to the issue of credibility here.

    • Posted By: Chesterson Willington III @ 11/19/2007 9:51:43 AM

The Clinton staff DID trash the White House on the way out and Sadaam DID have WMD.

    • Posted By: Fact Finder @ 11/19/2007 1:23:52 AM

Bill Clinton said that Saddam had WMD BEFORE Bush became President. There's your credibility answer, fella.

      • Posted By: American Middle Class Peon @ 11/19/2007 1:58:09 AM

Who cares.. what Clinton did. Everyone is jumping on the ban wagon because it's the first female who has a chance at the White House. No one liked Billy when he was in office, he is a thief and used the office to get laid. Hillary ran the country and everyone knows it and it wasn't that great. The approval she is getting is because 1. Americans have very short memories and 2. Because even the devil is a better option than another Republican seeing what Bushy Boy has done to this country.
        A. Check Bush's bank account at the time he went into the White House and the time he leaves and let's see if it shows his $100,000 bucks a yr as a public servant

        B. GO EDWARDS pres and OBAMA as his VP

        • Posted By: cmicah6:8 @ 11/19/2007 2:14:56 AM

Whatever you may say about Billy, his approval rating when he left office was 65%, the highest of any outgoing president since Franklin Roosevelt.

    • Posted By: Fact Finder @ 11/19/2007 1:28:59 AM

Lest you forget...here's the speech in 1998 where Bill Clinton said Saddam had WMD...

You can say this about Rove. He knows how to stay on message. Nothing NEW here. Way to go Newsweek, looks like you hired "the Bush Apologist." Time for him to start rewriting recent history.

Patrick Henry222-you're clever. OK, not really, but you are obviously an idiot. Thanks for contributing-nothing.

  • Posted By: Indyssent @ 11/19/2007 9:23:05 AM

You can say this about Rove. He's still on message. Nothing NEW here. Way to go Newsweek. Looks like you hired the "Bush Apologist."

Rove continues to be Rove, defining the opposition negatively and focusing on how to win, even when it's obvious that the Republican candidates don't have to care or honestly believe in any of his suggestions for what they should promise or emphasize to win votes. Hence we had W, who turned out to be a walking contradiction of everything he claimed to stand for in the first election. He taught W how to win but did not care in the least about how to lead, nor did he care in the least about what is best for America. Hence we are where we are. Newsweek has a right to publish his thoughts and pay him lots of money, but we the people would like to read the thoughts of smart people who really care about what is good and right for the United States of America, its people and its brave soldiers. We need a leader who cares, and we have some good people to choose from for once in a long while. Rove gave us a non-leader, a chump for people like Putin and Mussharef, and someone who really, really doesn't have a clue and doesn't care. Unless you think the emergency room is a substitute for medical insurance, or 'Bring 'em on' is a good anti-terrorist policy.

Clinton and her followers are hypocritical and should be taken down a notch for playing both sides of coin, where the woman, obviouslly, has no straight answers to tough questions. She also has no proven experiance or past successes at achieving anything substancial enough to be considered Presidential material.

Why can't Karl stay buried? Isn't there a big enough hole for his head?

    • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 8:52:12 AM

the earth spit him back out

seems that even good old mother earth ain't claiming him

      there's hope though

george bush DID want to send a man to mars

      I nominate kkkarl

no need to plan for a round trip

      one way will do fine

  • Posted By: notaknowitall @ 11/18/2007 1:21:06 PM

I subscribed to Newsweek simply because they hired Carl Rove and will cancel once he is gone. : )

    • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 8:50:16 AM

so you'll pay to get stupid, but if somebody tries to unstupidize you, you will resist

    countryfried,

I do have to agree with you that NYC is a total craphole.

    • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 7:26:17 AM

for the last time, NO, we can't discuss the issues or treat the candidates with respect

      that doesn't work for repuglitards

they have to be mean spirited and practice the politics of personal destruction

if they didn't, nobdy would listwen to the repuglitardbozos for two seconds

look at the tripe newsweek is printing here

and this is supposed to be a "serious" news outlet

instead they just print kkkarl's little hissy fits about hillary's mirror (which ain't even hillary's)

it's a sad state of affairs

      welcome to george bush's America

      • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 8:46:42 AM

that was a reply to a totally different comment

took me a while to figure out this confusing comment box

and I still can't see anything below the second line, so ignore typos and all caps stuff. It's not intentional

2 ISSUES AVERAGE FAMILIES CARE ABOUT: WHO WILL CLOSE THE BORDERS; SHOW YOU 'GET IT' THAT THE EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS FAILED..... DESCRIBE WHY $$$ ARE NOT WHY..... 'WHY' IS BECAUSE THE QUALITY OF TEACHERS HAS FAILED, THE BIG MONEY GOES TO THE UNION AND ADMINISTRATION, (NOT FACILITIES AND TEACHERS)... TELL WHAT YOU WILL DO TO STOP THE INBREEDING OF SOCIALISTIC, ANTI-AMERICAN TENURED PROPOGANISTS. PERHAPS THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ESTABLISH A SECOND ED SYSTEM THAT IS FAIR MINDED, GETS NEW TEACHERS OF HIGH CALIBER(NOT HOME-GROWN) IN THE CURRENT TEACHER-TRAINING SYSTEM, , PAYS THEM $75,000 TO START, GOING TO $150,000. PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SEND KINDS INTO THE CURRENT SYSTEM MAY STILL DO SO. EVERYONE ELSE WILL HAVE A CHOICE AND VOUCHERS WILL BE THE WAY. THIS DOES NOT GET VOTED ON. THE NEW PRESIDENT WILL SIMPLY ESTABLISH A NEW COMPETITIVE SYSTEM. PERIOD

    • Posted By: kimoco @ 11/18/2007 6:04:46 PM

LOL, Hey 'we care' I wonder if you realize how ironic your post is?

      Of course not.

Karl Rove's tenure as a GOP strategist are over. People do not want any more of his unethical tricks to win elections. People in this country want someone to fix the mess Bush has made, including restoring our moral standing in the world.

Any of the current Democratic nominees are heads above the current GOP crop. And it seems after reading the comments here, most Republicans likely realize this, don't want to admit it, thus their only option is to attack the Democratic front runner with childish taunts.

      • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 7:22:18 AM

there's a solid vote for the repuglitard nominee

that's one hell of a "base" you got there kkkarl

so of em can even read ...

        • Posted By: freepatriot @ 11/19/2007 8:43:23 AM
