    I don't trust, I don't like, and I won't vote for the ice queen. And I'm a registered Democrat.

I believe Hillary Clinton has you Republican neo-cons scared! You are the dysfunctional Party. I guess we will see in Nov. 2008. May the best man or woman win! As a side note I believe a convicted traitor worked for Cheney. Scooter Libby ring a bell?

Hillary clinton is an ice witch and I as a Democrat will not vote for her.

Karl, dear, any woman who wears a suit or dress likes to have a FULL-LENGTH mirror to check that her slip doesn't show, especially if she is going to be photographed or taped. So what? Is that the best you can throw at her? tsk tsk you are losing your touch. What amazes me is that you took the time to inventory the walls of every room in the West Wing to determine the size of the mirrors. What ego! Who were YOU looking at? I prefer Hillary's "vanity" mirror to the "smoke and mirrors" you have foisted upon us.

    mikesorensen,

Ssshhhh. Let me let you in on a little secret: NO. DCTown is overrun with Utopians of all stripes, and if they had ANYTHING on Karl, AT ALL, he'd be in jail forever. Remember the phrase "Fitzmas"? This was their desperate hope that US Attorney Fitzgerald would "get the goods" on Rove. No dice. In fact, the misrepresentations of fact on this thread have been hysterical. I don't know where to begin...

About a week after 9/11, Victor Davis Hansen, a noted (classically Liberal) conservative historian, wrote a piece on NRO.com telling us, almost sotto voce, that 9/11 represented the end of Liberalism. Basically, Liberals must choose between reality and everything they believe in. And it's driving them insane. This phenomenon was diagnosed by Charles Krauthammer when he coined the phrase "Bush Derangement Syndrome".

You'll note that we had a similar problem when Billy Boy was president. And now, we see rigged debates, a massive fundraising scandal, flip-flopping, triangulation, hiring a felon as her chief foreign policy adviser (Sandy Berger), media intimidation and more allegations of Clinton-presidential wrongdoing.

Before we've had our first primary. You Democrats have the vote. A vote for Hillary is a vote for breathtaking sleaze. Will you man up and toss her out, or not?

Well the prediction markets disagree. You may now have a chance to make some money because Ron Paul leads the GOP pack by almost 10% in his prediction market odds of being President if he is nominated:

    http://laboratoryofthestates.com/ElectabilityGOP08.html

All you need to do to make a bundle is click through the link there and start betting against the prediction market???s current opinion.

Actually, since you aren???t so sure yourself, you might want to forward this to good ole??? George Stephanopoulos who, I am sure, will now bet the farm.

Being President of this great country is more than just being a person who sits behind a desk making decisions, it has everything to do with taking us in the right direction. If you think Hilary can do the job then vote for her but remember this, if she makes those changes in health care you can forget about that gallbladder or cataract surgery you need, oh you'll get it but not for say 5-6 years, that's the health plan she proposes. It's called solcialized medicine, just ask anyone who lives in Canada or England. She wants more Government and there is too much of that already. Can't get a job? Let the government help you, People are screaming everyday what's wrong with this country, let the Government fix it for you and pretty soon we'll be like that third world country we are sending our troops over to.
If Bill Clinton had been doing his job instead of unzipping hhis pants 9-11 probably would never have happened. We need the Patriot Act, we needed it before 9-11. We need strong leaders who can take this country forward not involve us in more red tape. Our tax code is in shambles and should be abolished, but have you heard any of the Democratic candidates tell you how they're going to fix it?
Yes, Republicans can be extreeme but so can Democrats. We need a leader Democrat or Republican who is less interested in their own gains and more interested in ours.

    Mr. Rove,
I was hoping that you would introduce yourself to us as you advise the nominee to do. Are you really as bad as the leftists say?

  • Posted By: PSGInfinity @ 11/18/2007 8:52:20 PM

Good job, Karl! Recycle a position paper and drive the Utopians insane! We always know the (classically) Liberal (a.k.a: conservative) writer is on target when the (pro)regressives go insane. Hats off to all those who canceled your subscriptions; perhaps you'll have the truth seem into your consciousness. 'stephenprestwood', Karl's column isn't journalism, it's opinion. Like Kos', BTW.

And I'm truly impressed by the reading comprehension. Karl was keying on her inability to accept ANY CRITICISM. However oblique. However gentle. If Queen Hillary of Rodham can't handle Karl, how can she possibly handle Osama?

Republicans should ignore this article. Karl Rove is a spectacular failure in politics and is partially responsible for morally and financially bankrupting this country. Allowing 'turd-blossom' to hijack the party again will be a grevious mistake.

For everyone who says they're cancelling their subscription to Newsweek because they have given Rove a platform, please think again. So much better, don;t you think, to know what he's proposing his party do than to not know. This way, Markos - and commenters - can getb their 2 cents' worth in and debate. Debate is good. Bringing ideas to the table is a good thing, worthy of the process. Honest to Pete, we must stop allowing ourselves to be pushed to extreme positions, because, really, that's where the current Republican Party has been shoving us for too many years. Back away from this - engage one another with ideas, with honest debate, not knee-jerk bullsh*t. We're a big country with lots of people, and most of us are in the middle - mbut it's not the middle the Republican leadership has crafted, which is just way too far to the right and extreme. Why should we be afraid of debate? We shouldn';t. What we should fear are the extremists among us. Truly. It doesn't have to be this way. We have just allowed ourselves to be used by the Roves of this world. Let's take them on. Let's see who makes sense, and who does not. Let's see who areb hypocrites, and who are not. This may be our chance to take "politics as usual" and throw that ugly stuff out the window. It's not about which side wins or loses - it;'s about our country, for heaven's sakes, It's about finding a compromise wherein we all win. But that compromise must not include the Patriot Act, a unitary executive, unending war on abstractions ("Terror", "Drugs", etc), and loss of civil liberties and the trashing of our Constitution. Torture? Why are we even defending such an obscenity??

Since rove stole a Democratic letterhead early in his career, did he also steal the Niger letterhead???

  • Posted By: nova @ 11/18/2007 8:39:47 PM

Newsweek.... why let Karl 'traitor' Rove have a platform? It's disgusting. All I get from this article is when campaigning, tell the people what they want to hear, get "elected", and then do what you want. Whatever 20% of the population agrees with.... go with it. Promises....what promises? Ultimately, The Decider in Chief answers to no one.

I wish Newsweek had not hired a person who was the top enabler for George W. Bush. I cannot respect his opinion.

  • Posted By: JohnHess @ 11/18/2007 8:16:12 PM

Why is Newsweek posting, what is essentially, a Republican advertisement, on their site? The whole point of this column was to put down Hillary Clinton. I will cancel my subscription if this propaganda is going to be part of the print edition

    • Posted By: bobojo @ 11/18/2007 8:35:18 PM

Agree. IF the pos, Rove - who should be in jail, has a column, my subscription is cancelled.
Opposing views are ok. I dont want to hear propaganda from a would be felon that escaped the
      legal system.

Carl Rove is a shameless, overrated opportunist who does not care about his role leading to thousands of dead and wounded American soldiers, and their hurting families. Instead of prognosticating about politics, he needs to first write some apologies to the American public for being instrumental in putting Bush in office. Of course, his apologies would need to be written from the heart, and I almost forgot that his is busy with money, power and, oh yeah, religion.
