Newsweek, You've sold your soul to the devil. With one poor choice (hiring Rove) you've destroyed your long earned credibility. I guess you need to compete against Fox News? And this obvious and benign debut is supposed to make us feel that he's harmless? He's evil and responsible for flushing our country down the toilet. Just wait until he gets started. I'll be looking elsewhere now. Buh Bye.

I don't think she can be any worse than Bush. If Americans can survive Bush administration for 8 years, they can survive Hillary Clinton as well. What worries me is not her; it's the fact that America cannot elect anybody else other than either Clinton or Bush. It's time to give a chance someone with new ideas and policies i.g Ron Paul or Obama.

Thank you Newsweek for being unbiased in your reporting...this week and allowing a conservatives political view be published. Hillary really scares me. People often wonder just how Hitler could have been elected or any other dictator for that mater given all the history we learn years after the fact? Well if you vote for Hillary and her dictator social views and styles???dictate is what she will do. After she destroys America and what our fore Fathers created and when history is written, people will some day say, ???How could she ever have been elected???. She has accomplished nothing as an elected official and not much more at anything else she has done. Don???t drink the kool-aid!

    RE: the mirror...

Just like you didn't say Valerie Plame was a CIA agent, right Karl? You said Joe Wilson's wife was... and you may not have SAID Hillary put the mirror there, but anyone with half a brain knows that's the impression you hoped to make...
Seriously, Karl, we're not ALL stupid...

    • Posted By: razajac @ 11/18/2007 6:55:20 PM

Y'know, Singer, that's the whole point here, isn't it? Rove is given an opportunity to say something about the race, but just can't seem to stop himself from inadvertently highlighting really the most pertinent truth about the what politics has become. This approach to public communication is in Rove's blood. Why has it taken me so long to come to understand that he set this particular agenda for the "Republican" brand: Lie without lying; conflate, conflate, conflate; and do it without breaking a sweat.

How do you beat Hillary Clinton you ask. Do the same thing the Republicans have done in the last 2 elections.. CHEAT!!!!!!!!

All these left-wing loonies are hollering cheeting, cheeting when Mr. Bush won the election fair and square. They have no proof that any cheating was going one, but it sure makes them feel better to claim Mr. Bush's victory was illegitimate. Mr. Bush won, albeit with a small margin, but winning is winning. So sorry the leftist loonies cannot stomach that! What in the world will happen when Hillary loses the election? More name calling and false accusations from the leftist loonies again? You can bet on it!

Rove is a fat pig at the corporate Republican trough. This trough overflowing with swill of corruption and greed, lies and deceipt, human suffering and murder is consumed by Rove and the rest of the sanctimonious Republican Neo Con Party. The pigs at this farm just don't eat the swill they bathe in it. Then while their mouths are still full of the blood money they talk about terrorism, religion and Christ. When they are caught out in their depraved sex acts they say it was the alcohol and now Jesus has helped them to see the light - but they go back to the same life! One thing I know is that every fat pig has his day before he's slaughtered by the farmers knife. God will come and judge the living and the dead and the leaders who have PARTICIPATED in the miseries and deaths of their fellow men WILL BE PUNISHED (including Democrats).. As far as Rove writing this nonsense here about Clinton - wake up people. This is just more of Rove's swiftboat strategy. This keeps Clinton as the main story and target for the Republican voters, as well as side swiping the rest of the Democratic candidates by classing them as basically a waste of time. Clinton is not a great candidate. She's on the same ladder as Bush and Cheney in corporate corruption. Except they are at the top and she's halfway up. There are two REAL candidates in this run up for presidencey. Two, who really care about this country and its people. They are Republican Ron Paul and Democrat Dennis Kucinich. But they get less media coverage because the top 1% of this country want it that way and they can afford to keep it that way. Big Oil and Big Medicine are just two business's that will gladly put more swill into the trough of the corrupt swine to keep its control and profits. Wake up people and educate yourselves and your kids! No Child Left Behind is a system intended to keep future generations stupid so they are easier to manipulate and control. Turn off Fox news and the rest of the garbage on tv and start to read. Get your news from other sources and make up your own mind who's telling you the truth. If you don't like to read much join a film club like Iron Weed Film club. Rent these movies: Iraq For Sale, Maxed Out, Why we Fight, Sicko, Farenheit 911, Loose Change, etc. Let's unite, not divide and have a government in this country that is afraid of the people not the other way around. This country can be great again (not just for the top 1%).

I will not be viewing MSN or any Newsweek articles if that weasel is going to be a part of them. MSN and Newsweek should have more class than to have any part with evil person, and being a republican it just makes me want to vote for Hillary.

Don't trust this man! Shame on Newsweek for even having him as a writer. He starts his column with slinging mud. Welcome to the Rove world of seperation and alienation. Continue that path Republicans and welcome the Democratic Presidental runner into the oval office is 08. Dems will be the winner. People are sick of this division politics! Get over yourself Rove.

Talk about grand statements that have no support in the world of evidence and reason. Please give me an example of Guilliani talking about why he deserves to be President and how that will affect the issue of another Clinton in the Whitehouse. C'mon man, when Clinton left we had a budget surplus and a Nation who was working day and night to solve the Palestinian issue. Look where we are today. A broken Army, a bankrupt treasury, not to mention corruption squared to the tenth power.
You must be as delusional as a writer as you were when you were passing out the names of the CIA agents who were devoted to "real" answers.
All right wing propagandists shovel their *** with broad generalizations. Let's sees some specifics in terms of evidence to support your horse manure.

Ha ha ha. How about some cheese with that whine, Karl. You were instrumental in bombing your own political party back to the Stone Age and you're still giving mindless advice. Enjoy the twilight of the PsychoChristianConservative Era while you still can, bro. What a resume credit you have: Iago to the Drugstore Cowboy!

Don't trust this man! He knows everyone will be looking at what he says. He begins his whole point by slinging mud. Some things never change. He is the reason this country is so divided. Shame on Newsweek for perpetuating his dirty tricks.

Have not renewed my subscription to Newsweek. Will cancel the Post tomorrow. Mr. Rove represents all that is wrong with this nation. Will give my subscription money to John Edwards instead.

Rove???s opinions are now irrelevant. He was a master a branding an image for his sweetheart prot??g?? ??? Dubya. He constructed a rich idiot with a name into a cowboy president that Americans bought. However, the coffee is being smelled by Americans wisely waking up to this crafty has-been. Oh, the mirror was probably left over from the always-elegant Nancy Reagan, as Barbara Bush would have no use for one.

I hope the nation listens to the voice of reason and elects the person who will be best for our Country. Family values, government spending, and maintaining our freedom should be paramount in deciding on our future. I am very leary of those who want to subvert our Constitution and change the laws to suit their individual preference. Hillary scares the living daylights out of me because she is never candid and no one really knows what she stands for. Why can't she answer questions about all of the deaths that happened during her "reign" and give an honest opinion about the issues at hand rather than flip-flopping depending on her audience.

    • Posted By: kimoco @ 11/18/2007 6:09:55 PM

If you are scared of someone subverting the Constitution and maintaining our freedom, you must really hate George W Bush. Then again, it seems you are a conspiracy nut, (all the deaths during her 'reign'?) so I doubt you see losing personal freedom, allowing the government to spy on Americans without cause is a good thing.

      • Posted By: kimoco @ 11/18/2007 6:12:40 PM

oops, I meant that you don't think losing personal freedom is a bad thing.
By the way, I am patriotic, moral and optimistic, and I am gay. Right wingers do not own the words patriotism not morality.

I won't be purchasing any Newseek magazines anymore as long as Karl Rove is a contributor. I guess hate speech sells, however, so I'm not expecting Newsweek to come to their senses. I'm a step away from staying from msnbc.com if they continue to link to this trash.

  • Posted By: Reader123 @ 11/18/2007 5:34:00 PM

The issue with the vanity mirror captures Rove very clearly: he idoesn't care that his story totally misleading, and even objects to Senator Clinton trying to make the full truth clear, implying that it is somehow wrong of her to want a full accurate version told. I was once a Republican but am done with the pettiness, divisive and misleading tactics. No thanks for tearing down our great country.

  • Posted By: Raging Moonbat @ 11/18/2007 5:28:11 PM

It should be noted that the reason Mr Rove is writing this column instead of actually working for the next Republican nominee is because he was exactly wrong about the current political climate and lost the last election - and his job - because of it.

He's no genius, kids. Without the bizarre Florida recount and 9/11 he'd be an anonymous staffer (probably for Tom Tancredo or Mike Huckabee). He got lucky, and then his luck ran out. Now he's an occasional columnist for Newsweek.

Heed his advice at your own peril.

People have been saying mean things about Hillary Clinton from the beginning. Calling people names and making belittling comments about anyone is ugly and makes the person saying them look ugly. They damage the people they are with by encouraging the listeners to act as if the degrading is O.K. PLEASE let us discuss the issues and treat all the candidates with respect. Please, for our own sake.

  • Posted By: gracchus2 @ 11/18/2007 5:11:15 PM

Romney is the solution?? I really am trying to control my laughter. I would vote for Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich before voting for Romney!

    • Posted By: countryfried @ 11/18/2007 5:17:24 PM

You are in the minority then...Because it's going to be Romney and Clinton. Then Romney will steam roll for the Presidency in 08
