Regardless of what the "supreme court" has said in the last few decades, the first amendment to the constitution does not, in fact guarantee a separation of church and state. The text: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"
In that the State of Utah has made no law placing the cross on public land, but has merely authorized it at the request of it's citizens, no wrong has been committed here. Although it is not politically correct to recall it, the founding fathers never intended for this to be an atheistic country, and went to a great deal of trouble to attempt to prevent the bastardizaton of the constitution that has occured in the past few decades. I am embarrassed for AAI, and for the judge if he decides the crosses must go.
