I'm a lifelong niners fan, and for the past few years have noted that no quarterback's post-season stats can compare to Montana's, except for Tom Brady, who is about halfway through his career, and his post-season stats are about half that of Montana's. If he can continue to put up such spectacular numbers, and they keep this team around him for a few more years, he's gonna have more rings than he knows what to do with. The Pats must have the best O-line in the history of football. Their quarterback makes fantastic decisions, their receivers make unbelievable catches, and at any given moment, all 11 men are doing something. Rarely is there a time when you see a Patriot player standing around. They play as a team, they play to the whistle, they play for 60 minutes, and they'll whip your butt for every second of it if you let them. That's what football's all about. In high school or college teams are often far outmatched due to some school's limited talent pool, and there can sometimes be up to 90 men on the sideline, making a full 2nd or 3rd string substitution possible. Not so in the pros. They all draft from the same pool of players, all fight over the same free agents, and all have the same amount of money to spend. I love my niners, and if they played the pats right now, I'm sure they'd lose by about 60. My complaint would not be lodged with Belichick. My beef would be with George Warhop(49ers O-line coach) for given the quarterback zero protection, Darrell Jackson for being over-rated, and the O-line for their failure to open holes. My sympathies would be with my defense, who spend so much time on the field, even the lowly Rams can eventually get it done against them. You want to stop the Patriots? Step up, earn your paycheck, and play like a man. Nobody ever won a ring by whining and crying. So stop complaining, and appreciate the fact that you are invited to watch football history in the making every weekend. I've always rooted against you New England, but I'm starting to like the possibility of watching you go 19-0. Spank the Steelers and I may just turn to the dark side, but only for the rest of this year...

There is no reason to run up the score like the pats do game after game....you can rationalize it as long as you want....you can go back into history and pick out isolated games with high scores.....it really doesnt matter. The patriots are just pissed off they got caught cheating and have decided to display the lack of class they have by running up the score...week after week.... for no other reason then they can't figure out it takes a certain abmount of class to NOT do it....Go ahead...call me a hater.....so be it.

Hey you know what?? If your favorite teams don't want their butts handed to them when the Pats come to town, maybe the opposing defense should show up for the game? That's what they get paid the "big bucks" to do... stop the other team from scoring. The Colts managed to keep the Pats offense in check.. Why can't anyone else?? Oh that's right Indy's defense came out to play.... So far the only team to do so. Get over it people, all NFL coaches have used tactics that are less then ethical.... difference here Bill got caught and slapped. But let's face it, with the arsenal of weapons that Brady has to choose from now, there was no other direction that this team was going to go. The professionals had the Pats winning the Super Bowl before the season even stared, and now that they are fullfilling everones' predictions they are the bad guys?? Come on people.... grow up.

Okay, let's try this again. You're wife - a very wisewoman, mand you - was right. What is this - high school? I love it.

To summarize my previous comment - this isn't Pop Warner football with a mercy rule. This is the NFL. The teams getting beat on could stop the Pats. They could score more. They could execute better.

The expession is "Man up." I am a former athelete - a marginal one, so I had my share of "beatings" during my athletic career. It is a competition. If you want the beatings to stop, execute better.

Hat's off to this years Pats - this has been a long time coming. I am ecstatic with this years team, and relaize it is a once in a lifetime thing. I know there are going to be down years - this is New England football we're talking about, so I know there are going to be down decades, again. Get over and realize this is the nature of the game. Please stop your crying - it's hard to hear Gil Santos over all the whining!

You're wife - a very sage lady, mind you - had it right - what is this, high school? there is no mercy rule in the NFL, unlike PopWarner or Little League. Enough already. Last game we had out 4th and 5th string running backs in in the 3rd quarter, running the same off tackle play 3, 4 5 times in a row.

Man up, guys, c'mon! You want the Pats to stop scoring? Stop them. Dick Jauron and Marv Levy had no problems with what transpired last Sunday night. Nor did Joe Gibbs. This is professional football for goodness sake!

I remember the beatings we took. We're going to take more eventually. What goes around comes around. I understand this, and I don't doubt for a second both Brady and Belecheck and the remainder of the Pats organization understand it as well.

Stop your belly aching already. Again, your wife had it right...

YankFan is HILARIOUS.. he is exactly what it means to hate.. He is a YANKEES fan.. ROFL.. wow... He actually asks how to explain to his kids about a TD when up by 30, illustrating he is probably incapable of reading a WHOLE article as the writer provided MANY examples of HALL OF FAME coaches who "ran up the score" .. or does he thing 72-0 is a close game.. ROFL.. I pity your kids

Only serious HATERS can read this article and MISS the paragraph about the hall of fame coaches and the scores they posted. ONLY true haters can read this article and apparently MISS the entire ending paragraph and REMEMBER who handed the ball OFF to the fridge as they pasted a meaningless end of game touchdown. STOP HATING and enjoy the show.

There is absolutely no excuse to stop playing a game before it is over. These men are professionals and no one wants to see them go out there an perform for only half a gam. They should not be punished and put down just because they are good.
