In response to the person identifying himself as "bear" : This is a free country you inbred moron!!! If any American doesn't want to recite the pledge, or put their hand over their heart, or even burn the flag, it is afforded to them by THE CONSTITUTION!!! It kills me how you, and people like you, who call themselves "patriots", are so oblivious to this fact. A true patriot never questions the freedoms granted to us as Americans. There is nothing more un-American than chastizing others for practicing their right to free speech. It seems that the people in this country who always coin themselves as patriots, are often extremely nationalistic and a bit fascist as well. True patriots stand up for the rights of their American brothers and sisters, they do not beat them down because they disagree with them. If you want to disagree with Obama on any of his policies, or his ideology in general, that is acceptable. For heaven's sake though people, don't try to beat a person down because they don't participate in trivial rituals. I like to think that this country stands for way more than things like the pledge of allegiance, and/or the national anthem (i.e. brotherhood, mutual respect, good-will, etc.). If we lose these things, than we end up being hypocrites who stand for nothing. Bear your comment about Obama was SEVERELY un-American. You can do better than that brother.

truly, the only honest canidate in the lot of them, both Dems and Reps is Dennis Kucinich. Too bad America is so complacent...do we really want another Bush/Clinton White House?? I loved Bill and used to admire Hillary, But no longer. She is a war monger, is beholden to big corporate money, and no longer supports serious change to America's FAILING health care system.

He needs to attack her all out. She and hubby, who is now cuddling up to Papa Bush, are the same as the Bushes. Obama needs to point this out - her approval of the Iraq War and hiding behind the "we believed the President" statement when all the world new he was lying - her cuddling up to right wing interests like Rupert Murdock and the defense industry, her 2005 approval of the new bankruptcy law which is destroying millions of middle class lives. Hit her off guard with some of this. I myself used to be Hillary's biggest admirer and now loath her, and am greatly offended when I see her husband cuddle up with the Bushes after what THEY did to him for 8 years. Word of advice to Obama, however: If you catch her in the polls, avoid flying in small private planes, as serious neo-con rivals have an uncanny habit of dying that way - Paul Wellstone, JFK Jr and the like.

I assume by your post, Bear, that you're an American. If so, you represent America and its educational system poorly with your ineptitude with grammar and the English language. You seem to define American patriotism by hand gestures. I think we might be better defined by what we bring to the world, and how we present ourselves-- particularly because we have the very good fortune of some of the best education in the world, which should enable us to think well and communicate articulately (as Obama does). In this light, you appear to be a very poor representation of America. If you love America, please make use of its educational system.

While Obama's opponents have quickly rebutted his issues in 30 second bits, does this add to the dialogue of political exchange or condense issues to trivial matters worthy of 30 second or less comments. When will the media demand EACH of the DEBATES be tailored to a single major isssue with real material to be debated amongst the candidates. Spot-on analysis... campaigning rhetoric doesn't lend itself to the lengthy "whys" as does a simplistic "what" that is composed of a couple of zinging catchy memorable words. Plus, as the last Presidential elections have shown us -- rock throwing and accusations not refuted with vigor produce vial administrations. As pointed out in this article Obama must bring the sharp/pointed responses NOW!

All this talk and Dems Or Repub wont fix the Mess our fashist President has created he has destroyed the middle east and hes doing his best to destroy the US with gas prices and natural gas both uo 40% over last year.Why arnt the people so concerned with getting this job doing something to save America you know it cant run on auto pilot weve been ignored since this Boob was elected and look at the mess were in.

He is a truer patriot than you since he knows that patriotism is a feeling, not something that comes and goes depending on what you wear. Kudos, Mr. Obama. American voters want to hear short and simple answers to this worlds complexe and diverse proublems, Hence Goerge Bush the greatest simpleton of our time. elected because he professed christ, while knowing really nothing of him,the master of three sentance solutiones and ever eager to lie about, maligne, and smear his opponts. Unfortunatly he knew how to win the presidential political game; and unfortunatly for us Bush really believed in his three sentence solutions. I will happily vote for a guy who has a real sences for the nature of the proublems we face but has to be coached on how to play the game.
