Get a grip, if you don't have anything of substains to say about Obama, then don't say anything. NewsWeek has given all the candidates equal time from both sides, grow up quit being such a baby.

This election is different that most others. Typically we always voted by our wallet, and this year it's the issues of the war, illegal immigration and heath care. He has to have concrete ideas of those issues. The American people are tired of the posturing on illegal immigration, its either yes or no. Many votes will be decided on that alone. It is considered a threat to our nation security, no ifs, ands, or buts. Heath care is causing too many Americans to dramatically suffer due to the outragous costs. The simpler times are gone forever, but so is our assuming trust in the government. I can tell that Hillary really wants the job, but Barack needs more intensity.

Is wanting the job reason enough for the American people to elect a person that we can not trust? Who is Hillary Clinton? She wants to take credit for all of the good during Bill's years as President, but doesn't want to take blame for the bad things (which were her doing i.e. Healthcare). She has had plenty of opportunity and failed on the major issues (Iraq and Healthcare). Experience as a failure is not what this country needs. We need new leadership and good judgment to change Washington and the world.

What is this "trust" thing? Do you think that Obama is someone you can trust? Why is that?Do you think he is some kind of saint that doesn't lie? Someone mentioned the photo, in another comment. Take another look at that photo. Do you think that is a photo that was taken spur of the moment, or do you think that was staged? What makes Obama bring you such hope? What has he done that makes you feel so warm inside? Is it his preaching of "the politics of hope"? If that is it, you got scammed long ago when he left that behind in desperation and started attacking day after day. Is it the fact that he didn't vote on the Iraq war? (not only was he not in the senate at the time of the vote, but he also said in an interview right after the Dem '04 convention that he didn't know how he would have voted, since he wasn't privvy to all the info the senate was). Well, I guess if being against the war makes you qualified to be president, by those same standards any one of about 40% of Americans are qualified. It really tickles me that you Obama supporters never once state why you are supporting Obama, only why you won't support Hillary. Wake up from this dream you are being sold by a very conniving man, or it may soon be too late and you'll be at the hands of Giulliani or Romney.

Do you think that the war and especially, illigal imigration and health care are not going to effect your wallet? If you are that blind, then you should vote for Hilary.

These comments are amazing to most of us in the civilized world. With this exuberance for immersion in irrational hatred, how is America ever going to choose wisely next November? Small wonder we get the leaders we get.

What is with Newsweeks love affair with this guy?

  • Posted By: zstroud @ 11/26/2007 11:28:42 AM

Tell me one thing barak lovers. What has HE done other then run for things. What bills has he passed. He says I was against the war from the beginning....uh what. Where was he? Did he lead a protest? Did he introduce legislation? Last time I checked, he keeps voting for this non-sense just as much as he does. And you guys call him inspirational, are you kidding. half the time he can string a long sentence together without umming and ahhing all over the place. In love with someone who has done so little is pathetic. Give me Biden, Richardson or Dodd any day

what is with NewsWeeks apparent love affair with Obama. Hey I got some editorial ideas for NewsWeek. Try profiling EVERY candidate from both sides. I see Obama on this site more then his own. Good grief. Bias is not good journalism, they taught us that in Freshman year.

"What is Barama doing standing with the American flags in view behind him? He refuses to wear a flag lapel pin or put his hand over his heart at the playing of the National Anthem. He is not a partiot or worthy to be president. He is a hypocrit!"

Do you remember 6 years ago? Do you remember seeing then former first lady Clinton at the memorial services for the victims of 911? When the national anthem (not capitalized) was sung, she stood there, her hand not over her heart and a scowl on her face. Tell me she's not a patriot or worthy to be president. I dare you!

If he didn't get into the race to beat Hillary what's he doing in it? Going to go kissy kissy w/ the Hill as most have done in the past...post primary and, then be her VP?

Obama can either run for the Presidency or Vice-Presidency, if he really wants to lead this country he needs to sharpen his tone. If you don't stand for something, you will stand for anything

Nice comment fair and balanced, I was losing faith with all this pro Hillary slap. America needs new ideas and new blood not some recycled, vitriolic, mudslinging lady who thinks that we are really that stupid. Yes she is a master of spin but when you want to show how good you are by showing how bad others are then Im sorry, I dfraw the line. And as for Donald Trumps cheap talk about Obama, he should consider running for president and then see that whilst we watch his cheap tv programming, we are not that stupid at all. We need a president who can connect with the simple men not some demagouge who has his nose stuck in the ceiling

    • Posted By: autumnsun @ 11/26/2007 10:25:33 AM

thank you, Prophet for your comments. i agree wholeheartedly with you. we need someone to connect with the simple man and woman, the people that are in the "work a day" world. in essence, what used to be known as "the backbone of America". i am so tired of our country just sitting back and taking it from the rich and powerful. to be honest, i am not so sure i'd be comfortable with a woman behind the desk in the oval office, and i am a woman. thanks again!

it seems to me that senator clinton was and IS the firebrand behind her husband. Now we all are starting to see the same old attacks from her against her opponents. I mean, at the last debate, what was she trying to say when she mentioned that the others on the stage were using tactics "right out of the Republican Playbook"? That smacks of the mean spirited and smarmy spirit that we sometimes got when her husband was in office. I truly believe it was HER that was behind all of that, as her husband was too good of a politician for those kind of remarks. Do I want another 4 years of that again? No. I hope that Sen Obama DOES ramp up the rhetoric and directly challenge Sen Clinton on her beliefs and motivations. Then we all may see what we would really be getting if she were elected president. Lets see how she treats her political enemies, as then we will have a glimpse as to how she may get along with the Republicans in Congress.

hillary has not impressed me at all. i am however impressed with Barack Obama. this country is in sorry shape right now. we need a fresh approach, a fresh voice, an honest MAN in the white house. i so wish the USA could get back to the basics of life, simplier times but perhaps those are gone forever.

  • Posted By: tendaimasiriri @ 11/26/2007 10:16:11 AM

A live and breathing example of what it means when they say, "I you want to change the system, attack from without". Once you're suck into the system you will have to play the game by the system's rules which means Obama has to stop being polite and buck back mean words to Hillary

  • Posted By: ruthbethinger @ 11/25/2007 11:32:21 PM

I'm glad to see Obama responding to Clinton forcefully, but never below the belt - he doesn't get personal and attacks her politics and her campaign and her actions, not her as Hillary Clinton.
