Based on what is happening in the VA he should donate his paycheck to the war. President Bush is a total failure. He has scared away most of the good military brass. He just has a bunch of ass kissers left to do his bidding. In the meantime our Veterans are getting screwed and not enjoying it. Vietnam has many many many more casualties. What is Bush's excuse as to why he's not taken care of vets at home? During Nam we were so glad to be home no one complained. The VA was real good at distributing prescriptions. No one cared too much back then but our brothers and family..

The President demands another appropriation of funds "for the troops" How about this? Take money from the Department of Defense, the State Department has somehow lost millions of dollars, I'm sure they have a large buget that could be tapped, and how about NASA. Is it really so important to fly shuttles during a time of war when they are not contributing to the war effort? If all budgets in the miliary budgets were examined wouldn't you think we might find lots of funds? The agencies would scream bloody murder, but does compare to the screams of wounded soldiers?

I agree with Glenn, but you for got about the great Lip-service they are getting from the white house and its staff. Silly String, tampons, Saran Wrap, I wonder if this stuff might work at the V.A. Hospitel to get the care they or I need now? mike ca

...And a good example of lack of support again by officers and above. Looks like the other people commenting were never in the military, just taking their time to blather. Yes, I happen to be a vet.

Comment: It is good that Americans can now be able to reflect and learn how to adapt in various environments.I understand what it means to be a soldier and fighting in foreign land.It will not assist much to train a soldier how to fight only, but he needs the back up capacities which will come from no one else apart from him/herself.-Silungwe Peter.

Silvia, This was OUTSTANDING reporting, The United States of America, as a whole needs a wake up call. Our military personell are doing the job that they signed up for and doing it very well. Thank you for reminding us. It is past time for us to come to a conclusion, as a nation, as to what we need to do. I would respectfully suggest that we revert to the advise of the WWII generation, we might be better off. Thank you

Silvia, OUTSTANDING reporting,a story like this is just what the United States needs at this point in time. Regardless of anyones opinions of the current administrations position on the war, I think that the majority of citizens do support our troops. It is this kind of thing that sets us apart and I for 1 one am proud.
Please, let us know and remind us of who we really are
