Obama demonstrated in his visit to Google not only a deep grasp of the usual issues candidates discuss, but a vision for how technology could help reform Washington. His open government plan (that he unveiled at Google) aims to make wasteful Washington spending and practices open for Americans to see online. Before we can get our politicians to do anything marginally useful for the American people, we need to break the ties between lobbyists and politicians, andshame them and the special interests that support them.

Unpenalized outsourcing has already led to a decline in available tech jobs in the states (and therefore pay as well). Not to mention that anytime I have worked with someone who was trained in India or China it really has been more of a grotesque hinderance than a benefit. The author obviously has no relevent experience with real world technical expereince aside from what his corporate middle management buddies tell him during midlife crissis discussions at the local Starbucks. Steven, next time you want to comment on something perhaps make it about a subject with which you are aquainted? For example, Vista's pretty new colors or the latest thing Bono said?
