I suggest the baseball bat approach. I used the software to track my ipod and knocked on the door, held up the bat, asked for my ipod back, and even got a "I'm so sorry". Well, I'm not so sorry for taking out the dudes drivers mirror witht he bat as I left

Ok now your talking my language, I lost my Ipod touch this past weekend . This software that you speak of what is it? And would I have had to register with Apple first? Although I subscribe to Itunes?

My iPod was stolen from my house. Two of my daughter's friends were the only ones here at the time it came up missing. One is known for stealing from Walmart, I later found out, I went to their house and was lied to my face. Both saying they didn't have it. One admitted to seeing it where I put it, the other not saying a word. I am going to look at the local second hand shops and my daughter is looking for anyone with an iPod matching the discription of mine. Sad thing is I had pictures of my late Dad on there and I don't know how to stop anyone from just doing away with the pictures. Who would have thought that I would have to lock up my belongings in my own house???!!!!! I hate two things, a thief and a liar. Both of which they are. If anyone reads this I named my iPod CharlieGirl. Please, all I want is for them to return it. One of the friends was my daughter's best friend for Three years, and it sucks to watch my kid cry herself to sleep knowing that someone she trusted betrayed her.
Elkhart, IN Please return it to the police or to my daughter, no questions asked from me or her

Hmph, I am at summer camp, and my iPod got stolen. I plan to, if I do not find it by the last day, see if the Chief of Security might not help me by restricting people from leaving the campus untill ALL stolen iPods are returned. When I find the bastard responsible.... I most likely be on trial for assault in the next courtroom down from his Possession of Stolen Property Trial. I hate how these *** think that they can get away with these things. Including when I was working out at my athletic club, and I saw the most hilarious thing. One of the matinence people was using his key to go into my locker. He brought his hand out with my PSP, my Palm Pilot, my phone and my car keys. I tackled him, grabbed the phone out of hus mother *** hands, and called the police. Wow, that was a... memorable day.

If it was your ipod touch, Apple lied to you when said they can't track it. If it wasn't there could be also a way to know where it is. Tell me a little more about it. marcovalence@hotmail.com

someone stole my ipod touch from school. ofcourse the best an only place that they did it was in gym where there is no cameras. i came back to change and all my stuff was on the floor, i thought i knocked over my bag or something so i picked up what i saw and ran to class.... when i got on the bus i realized i didnt have it.
the school isnt really doing anything.. a girl in my gym class said she saw two girls come in going threw people stuff; so i thought of that as evidence i went to the police and filed the report.... the police said they need more evidence until taking action. if i find out it was these two girls they will be arrested immidiatley the police said. as if right now my most prize possesion is gone. who knows what they could have done with it? it was stolen on the 12 of february.. its the 15 now an still nothing. i have never been so depressed in my life.. i called apple an they said there is no way to trace it because i have the serial number but that doesnt do anything... i dont know why these people who take MY ipod.. especially cuz my name and phone number was engraved on the back and it was locked; u have to put a password in to use it.. so basically its usless....... still praying on finding it. when i find out the *** who stole it, not only will they have to return it or pay for a new one, but im going to press charges on them with possession of stolen property. until now, all i have left is hope. i havnt even had this ipod for more then three months. its the worse feeling in the world to know someone was going thru ur stuff an now has somethng of yours that you will probably never ever see again. it was alot of money, and meant so much to me.. it sounds stupid but there wasnt a day tht went by that i didnt listen to that ipod.. so far now kids this should be a lesson

LOCK UP YOUR STUFF. dont leave it ANYWHERE EVEN IF U THINK IT WONT BE STOLEN!!!
because unfortunitaly people in this world that you trust the most arnt always as trustworthy as you think they are.

this is a website i found ofcourse after my ipod was stolen,
that stores a GPS system in your device (a tracking device)
it works with not only ipods, but cell phones, computers, laptops,
basically every device. it will tell you how it works, so store it now you may not think ull ever need it
but you never ever really know. so USE IT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wound up with someone's iPod after a flight last Thanksgiving. I tried to return it to through the Airline-- no go. I called up Apple since it does have a tracking number and they told me it would break their privacy act. I suggested that I send them the iPod and they return it-- they told me no again. What's a person supposed to do? I have never used the iPod I would still like to return it.

Why would Apple be interested in helping you find your stolen iPod? They just got two new customers; the thief, who needs to subscribe to iTunes - and you, to purchase a new unit, preferably one of the new iPod Touch models. Linda's right; don't lose it in the first place.
