Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what most people of the world think. If most people in the world think that water is oil, that still doesn't change the truth/ fact that water is water, not oil. God Himself has clearly revealed who He is and tells man how to know Him through his revealed written word in the Bible. God Himself states that He is the one true God, the God of Judaism and Christianity.

College scholarships for illegals? What is this country coming to? If we give perks to illegals it will only encourage more illegals to come here. We don't help our law-abiding citizens enough with schooling so how/why should we help criminals (which is what people are who break the law and entering a country illegally is breaking the law by my standards.) Wake up politicians, wake up voters, if we don't do something drastic quickly we will be a Third World country. Who will pay for anyone's college then?!!!!!

The children are not criminals but if you treat them like criminals they will certainly grow up hating you and becoming criminals and a tax burden on our country. The reality is we have a immigration problem that we have to deal with now. Mike is simply saying that those immigrant children that work hard and become exceptional students and are applying for citizenship lets encourage them and use them to help benefit our country instead of outcasting these millions of children and making them a burden on our society. In the mean time lets close up the borders, tighten up on employers that higher illegals and so on. The parents are still illegal. The question is how do you humanely deal with them?

    • Posted By: jez963 @ 11/29/2007 2:40:16 PM

I betcit won't be those illegals that took advantage of their free degrees and left here.

I believe Mike Huckabee was definately the winner of this debate. He was posed and confident with just the perfect answers. I hope people will see that even with his lack at this time of military training he is more the equal to all the canidates.

I am an atheist and a Democrat. I don't agree with Huckabee on most things, but I like him. He shows respect for the opinions of others. He is positive in his outlook. And he is not mean spirited. This is why he may win the Republican nomination. It is also why Obama may win the Democratic nomination. As long as Gallop has been tracking presidential elections the winner has always been the person who polled highest for likeability.

I don't mind a religious person in a leadership roll. I do mind people who think that no one is qualified to lead unless they are religious. Moralitiy and philosophy exist in religion and outside of it. The world is covered with many religions, and none of them has a monopoly on morality or righteousness. And some of the greatest men and women in history were people who did not adhere to any one religion and in some cases did not beleive in any god. Conversely some of the most evil men in history wrapped themselves in religion and used it as an excuse to commit the worst depravities and cruelest attrocities. So enjoy your faith if you have it, but don't sit in judgement of those who do not share your religious beliefs. You will rue the day that the government of your country decides to espuse a religion.

Huckabee is likeable, as are almost all professional politicians. But he, like the others, are professional politicians, most of them from one of the two major political parties - the Democrats and Republicans.

Democrats have become, effectively, junior Republicans. There is not much difference, and neither party can any longer be called an opposition party which serves to keep the other party in line.

These two parties have sold America down the tubes for the past 40+ years playing this "good-cop bad-cop" routine every four years on what has to be the most gullible voting population ever to grace the face of planet Earth.

Are you going to buy this same dumb routine again, America ? Or are you going to finally wake up and smell the coffee ?

My advice ? Vote for anything, and I do mean ANYTHING, that moves that is NOT a Democrat or a Republican.

Enough is enough, but if you vote for a major party candidate, you are going to get exactly what you deserve for being so intractably dumb ! You are going to get more of the same.

Vote Independent in 2008 ! You'll send a resounding message and you, your family, and your country will benefit !

    Thanks

I find it interesting that despite his strong performance in all the debates, mainsteam media barely acknowledges Ron Paul. This man is without a doubt a force in this election. Moreover, his ideas are in line with a growing number of american who are sick and tired of governmebt intrusion and ineptitude. Give the man his due!!!

I have lived in Arkansas for the past 15 years, (spent 10 years in Texas). I would like to say that Huckabee is as honest of a politician I have been exposed to. Penny is a moron, Huckabee is not for illegal immigration, what he is for is children. Children should not suffer because of stupid, immoral or lawless parents. I saw Huckabee who took a state government formed on Clinton lies and make it respectible. This country needs his honest and GOOD leadership. Oh, by the way,,, the rest of the crowd will do anything or say anything to get your vote... Stupid voters need to wake up and vote for the best canidate and not the canidate who has the best smoke and mirrors. GO HUCKABEE

    • Posted By: AmericanParty @ 11/29/2007 2:52:16 PM

don't you see that by rewarding the children we give the parents more reason to come to the country?

  • Posted By: neverending @ 11/29/2007 2:52:12 PM

Huckabee has the ear of many people, but most of all his ear hears God. That is very important at this time in the world. Yes, he has my vote

  • Posted By: jibberjabber @ 11/29/2007 1:53:34 PM

Mike 'Open Borders' Huckabee is now being pushed by the Neo-Cons because they know that no Conservative will vote for Rudy or Romney, Huckabee is a total myth and product of the media. Al they are trying to do is take away conservatice support for Ron Paul. It's the same old slick Neo-Con back stabbing that Robert Taft received and Ronald Reagan almost went through.

    Don't fall for this trick.

    Huckabee is a non-entity.

Do you even think about what you are saying? Mike Huckabee started with nothing. I heard about him from a friend about 3 months ago, looked into him and even had the privilege of meeting him. He started going farm to farm, home to home talking with people, telling them where he stands on the issues. He got to where he is by working extremely hard. It wasn't until after the Iowa Straw Poll where people, including myself, voted for him, placing him in second place that the public began to even give him an ounce of publicity. He wasn't even cosidered a main candidate. For you to say he is a product of the media is crazy. I've seen how hard he has had to work. After meeting him, I can tell you he is an extremely genuine, kind person. Have you personally met him? I can't imagine you have because your opinion would be much different. Don't be so quick to judge people you haven't met. I also would like to say that I find it interesting how many Ron Paul supporters put down other candidates, like Mike. I am not going to do that. I haven't met Ron Paul and cannot judge his character. If people wonder why I am not supporting him, its because I don't agree with him on his position with the war. I wish you would give Huckabee the credit he deserves. He has worked very hard to be in the position he is in.

I hope everyone remembers the Huckabee quote from a previous debate where he admits that his tax proposals will "not decrease revenues, will not increase revenues, but will be revenue neutral." In other words, Huckabee is proposing that you continue to pay the same high amount of taxes you are already paying. Huckabee has made it clear that he will not reduce taxes or spending, he simply wants to replace one high tax with a new high national sales tax of about 25%. Do you really want a new 25% national sales tax? Only Ron Paul will cut government spending, and eventually end the income tax and replace the income tax with.... NOTHING!!!

  • Posted By: AmericanParty @ 11/29/2007 2:38:56 PM

Does Huckabee drive anyone else insane? He always talks like he's telling some great moral story. I feel like I'm sitting in a church with a FAKE preacher. He drives me crazy, and he's so ignorant to the issues. He wants to do away with the IRS, but not for same reasons as Paul. If it were for the same reasons as Paul, he wouldn't be implementing any other tax to replace the income tax. He's so ignorant to it all, but he's getting the credit of being the anti-IRS candidate. It's so frustrating and scary to see the ignorance of people running for the position to lead the country. I was baffled at McCain's response in a previous debate about the FED. He actually wants to look to one of the head guys of the FED Reserve for guidance on money and finance! It was obvious he is so clueless!
As a Christian I am amazed at the christian following Mike Huckabee has. It was no mistake in the Bible refering to people as sheep. They blindly follow the heard. You would think that as Christians they would understand Ron Paul and his message of freedom and liberty more than anyone. After all , Christianity is about free will. God and Jesus never forced themselves on anyone. And Christians know more than anyone that you can't force your beliefs of Christianity on anyone. It doesn't work. People have to come to those things themselves or it's not real and won't stick. SO it really is quite puzzling that the Christians of this nation try to force their morals on everyone else through the government. Besides, Christianity isnt' a religion; it's a relationship and a personal one at that. Why involve government in that?

Unfortunally we christians have had so many people try and make us out to be either bad or dumb. I have a masters degree and i am no worse than anyone else and I try to improve myself all the time. Why do I want a christian in the White House, so I can quit being afraid that those out there who are so anti-christian will stop trying to take away the very rights they say they are trying to uphold Pat K

If only our eyes were enlightened into the realm of the future I wonder what we would see? Wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, pestilence, evil and deceitful deeds being done that would blow our very minds. So, let us take infinite wisdom and the creation of all out of our politics, out of our schools, courtrooms and streets. Let us take God out of our families and let our eyes see this: Were not all eyes drawn to the television on September 11? Churches were full and the name of God was not silenced. Prayers were welcomed and the feeling of "Love" was so strong you could taste it. The truth is this and the truth will forever be the ticket to victory for this nation. Preach the word; be ready in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, advise with all longsuffering and doctrine. "FOR THE TIME WILL COME WHEN PEOPLE WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE; BUT AFTER THEIR OWN LUSTS SHALL THEY HEAP TO THEMSELVES TEACHERS, HAVING ITCHING EARS; AND THEY SHALL TURN AWAY THEIR EARS/EYES FROM THE TRUTH, AND SHALL BE TURNED UNTO FICTION. MEN WILL GROW WITH MUCH KNOWLEDGE BUT BE FOOLISH WITHOUT THE WISDOM AND DIRECTION OF ALMIGHTY GOD. JESUS IS HIS NAME. AND ONE DAY, WRITE IT DOWN, PUT IT WHERE YOU WILL SEE IT AND KNOW THIS: EVERY......EVERY.. KNEE WILL BOW, EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD. SO IF YOU TAKE GOD OUT, KNOW THAT SOMETHING WILL COME IN AND TAKE HIS PLACE. It matters not what any one thinks, Jesus Christ tried to love the people who were "being political when they cried for a King." HE CARRIED THE CROSS AND DIED FOR THE VERY PEOPLE WHO KILLED HIM." HE MUST HAVE LOVED US ALOT. WHAT HE DID PERPLEXED THE HAUGHTY MINDS OF RELIGIOUS AND SINNERS ALIKE BUT THE RESULT WAS THIS: HE HAD A PLAN, HE IS STILL WORKING THROUGH HIS PEOPLE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE PERSECUTED AND EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY NOT BE PERFECT. READ THE BOOK OF HOPE....IN THE END....THE TRUTH IS FREEDOM AND THE PRICE IS HIGH. SO YOU WANT RELIGION OUT OF POLITICS? GOOD...RELIGION IS DANGEROUS AND HATEFUL. RELATIONSHIP WITH THE KING WHO HOLDS THE COMPASS WITH CLEAR VISUAL UP AHEAD IS WHO YOU HAD BETTER PRAY WILL LEAD US. REMEMBER, THINGS AREN'T ALWAYS THE WAY THEY SEEM. WHAT YOU CALL EVIL COULD BE WHAT SAVES YOUR LIFE. I REALLY DO NOT CARE IF I GET A GAZILLION BAD COMMENTS FROM THIS, BUT I DO CARE ABOUT OUR NATION AND YOU. I AM A LITTLE NOBODY WHO HAS TAPPED INTO A MIGHTY POWER SOURCE AND I PRAY YOU WILL REALIZE HOW MUCH WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER. MAY GOD, JESUS CHRIST, BLESS AMERICA WITH HIS INFINITE LOVE AND MERCY AND MAY HE FORGIVE OUR STUPIDITY FOR EVER THINKING WE CAN DO ANY THING WITHOUT HIM. IT IS SO AMAZING THAT WE CAN BECOME SO SMART AND YET BE SO DUMB.

Mike Huckabee did an outstanding job last night. I do agree that he is very honest. I attended a rally on a small farm in Iowa because I was curious about him. After meeting him and speaking to him in person, I truly believe he is honest, a man of integrity, and a very good candidate for President. He is a true conservative with values I believe are vital in being a good President. I support Mike 100% and will definitely be voting for him!!

    • Posted By: hdunne @ 11/29/2007 2:48:37 PM

Mr. Huckabee is a very dangerous man. I say this because how does a man who considers himself a man of God, ally himself with the Council on Foreign Relations and have one of his speeches posted on their web site? The simple answer is by negotiating with them and coming up with some mutually beneficial agreement. I can assure you that the only TRUE Constitutionalist candidate Ron Paul would never sell his country out like that.

  • Posted By: ennuifiat @ 11/29/2007 2:48:02 PM

I love how he brings up doing away with the IRS...lol ...Ron Paul has been saying that forever! The man is a shill trying to gain off of the huge support that DR. Paul has. Also it makes me sick seeing the media bias towards the candidates. The state of our election process is almost fraudulent. For a fair unbias election we need the paid media OUT! These debates are a joke ! and their polls are only used if they fit the agenda and if they don't like the out come they will not show the results or claim it was manipulated online.

We need Dr. Ron Paul more than ever

Mr. Huckabee has yet to answer truly difficult questions. Asking a minister if he believes every word of the Bible is a waste of time. Voting for him simply because he is Christian is asinine; you might as well just pick any name on the ballot (Republican or Democrat). Frankly, I think his profession as a minister will hurt him in a national election because of his lack of experience outside of religious matters. His resume is not as impressive and Presidential as McCain's, Romney's, and Guiliani's. I think he does care about America (as do all of the candidates), but I have not seen anything yet that would convince me he is the man for the job. His fiscal policies are questionable as is his ability to work effectively with a Democratic Congress (coming from a predominantly red state). At times his on-stage preaching strikes me as forced and insincere.

I have always voted Democrat but, this guy has caught my attention with his plan to do away with income tax. As a "middle-class" American I watch roughly 1/3rd of my income go to income taxes while I struggle to put gas in my car and buy groceries. If this Mr Huckabee can do away with the IRS he will definitely get my vote and the vot of everyone I know.

    • Posted By: AmericanParty @ 11/29/2007 2:47:39 PM

Ron Paul also wants to do away with the income tax! He wants to replace it with NOTHING, unlike Huckabee who wants to replace it with another tax. Read up on the income tax and the federal reserve. Paul wants to do away with both. The precious money you work hard for that goes to pay your invome tax goes to pay the interest that we as a country owe the Fed. Res. If we get rid of the Fed., we dont' need the income tax. Huckabee has no clue and doesn't even understand this. If he did, he wouldn't be trying to replace the income tax with another tax. He would realize that it's not necessary. Ron Paul is the only cadidate who is knowledgable on the issue and severity of the financial situations of this country! If you want your money to even be worth anything in the next decade, you'll vote for Ron Paul.

A warning to those contemplating voting for Mr. Huckabee:

there are people who talk to God every day, and that's fine. But, beware the man who says that God talks to him or through him.

Mike Huckabee is in the second category. We don't need a Souther Baptist ayatollah as President. Beware.

    • Posted By: jez963 @ 11/29/2007 2:44:34 PM

I've not heard Mike Huckabee say once that God talks through him. Don't blow his faith up into something radical when it isn't. Using words like ayatollahs is unwarrented and mean.

  • Posted By: fatmo @ 11/29/2007 2:44:26 PM

Yes the Pilgrams did leave europe to escape government run religion. Just because a man or a women holds a govenment position doess't mean that they give up or cannot practice their religion while in office. From what I have seen and heard from Mike Huckabee he is a humble man who seeks guidance from God. So I believe that Mike Huckabee will be a president for all the people, especially for those that don't agree with his belief. I also believe he will not impose his belief on the those that don't agree with him, but I do belive that he will pray daily for guidance which is ok. Again, just becasue a man or women holds public office doesn't mean that they have to give up their conscious.

I Like Hucabee for president, he has my vote! Out of all the candidates running for office he seems the most honest and smartest. He seems to have a clear common-sense answer to the promblems america is facing today without giving up any of our freedom. Go Hucabee!
