The more I listen to Huckabee the more I like him.
The more I listen to Huckabee the more I like him.
I like Huckabee because he is a Christian and will not sacrifice any of our Christian principles to get a vote.
He's honest and straightforward and shwred when it comes to handling non-Christians. It's about time the Christian minority spoke up instead of feeling helpless and ignored or manipulated.
I am sorry to inform you that most American consider themselves as "Christians" so Christians are not in the minority
I think all legal immigrants also should get a scholarship.
Huckabee was lying about his beliefs. I caught it when he was panicking to explain why he gave illegal immigrant children special education benefits.
I like Ron Paul, but if he doesn't get the Republican nomination, I'm voting for a Democrat.
Don't forget that it was strong Christians that played a major role in establishing this great country. The reason this country has become so great is due to the foundational Christian values that are the foundation of this society. Some people want to undermine this foundation by eroding the moral fabric that supports this country. Most Christian leaders do not want to force everyone else to become believers but they do want to uphold the moral values that will keep this country great and remain in God's blessing.
Why is it that this fable about the founding fathers being great christians keeps resurfacing. read the memoirs and the letters from the more prominent members and it will become pretty plain that they were not as religeous as most christians would like to believe. They were trying to set up a country where knowledge, philosophy, humanism and science would flourish and were weaary of the control of the church over state affairs. Many passages about the folly of belief in the supernaturaI can be found in their daily letters back and forth. I can guarantee you that if there is an after life that so many of you dream about, they will be roasting in hell if God is as you believe he/she is.
No way would I ever vote for, nor allow if it were in my power, anyone who takes religion this seriously to be in a position of the Presidency. Evangelicals in ANY brand of religion - Christian or Muslim ( I don't notice them so much elsewhere) - scare the hell out of me. Those who actively want to convert others and/or even force others to their point of view on religion have NO business in positions of authority!!!
Do you really believe that it is only religious evangelicals who "want to convert others and/or even force others to their point of view?" I see it everywhere in our society today. The evangelicals are a whole lot less scary than some others. In truth, evangelicals believe it's a person's CHOICE what decision they make in regard to religion. I'll take that any day over someone telling me what I "have" to do.
Do you really think it's only the religious evangelicals who try to "convert others and/or even force others to their point of view"? It's everywhere you look in our society today. I'll take a sincere evangelical who believes it is a person's CHOICE over someone trying to cram their philosopies down my throat anytime.
so kydave i suppose we should all just sit around and keep our mouths shut as to what we believe. how would we ever know what the candidate running feels about or has convictions for on some of the main issues. whether we like it or not their beliefs or convictions must be based somewhre
in reply to the question of dgcat: "What will next, stoning of the non-religious..." Seems like a lot of you here, the way you speak of God and those that follow God would stone the religious if you had your choice... Its hypocritical to say You would not want a man of God, or preacher, to be elected president , and then say Whats next ? stoning for those who are not of the same religion? When you just bashed someone elses religion yourself!!
I am not bashing someone's religion....I just don't believe in wearing it on one's sleeves or forcing their beliefs on me....Religion is a private matter between oneself and his/her supreme being or even if one does not believe in anything....
Huckabee was trying to copy Ron Paul's platform, but he is REALLY FOR illegal immigration.
To Penny77777: Please explain what Huckabee lied about. I was throwning my support his direction.
Huckabee has the same military and foreign policy credentials that Reagan and Clinton had when they ran.
Religion has nothing to do with it. Giving anything away to illegal immigrants, especially scholarships???? I don't think that's standing up for what Huckabee believes in, or else he's not on America's side. I can't believe religion would outweigh a person's disgust for illegal immigrants. I don't consider myself religious in the slightest, but what's the worst any religious person has ever done to another person in comparison to those who have no religion in their lives? At least he believes in something. Too bad he's not strong enough to stand up for America like he is with his religion.
Does Huckabee drive anyone else insane? He always talks like he's telling some great moral story. I feel like I'm sitting in a church with a FAKE preacher. He drives me crazy, and he's so ignorant to the issues. He wants to do away with the IRS, but not for same reasons as Ron Paul. If it were for the same reasons as Ron Paul, he wouldn't be implementing any other tax to replace the income tax. He's so ignorant to it all, but he's getting the credit of being the anti-IRS candidate. It's so frustrating and scary to see the ignorance of people running for the position to lead the country. I was baffled at McCain's response in a previous debate about the FED. He actually wants to look to one of the head guys of the FED Reserve for guidance on money and finance! It was obvious he is so clueless!
As a Christian I am amazed at the christian following Mike Huckabee has. It was no mistake in the Bible refering to people as sheep. They blindly follow the heard. You would think that as Christians they would understand Ron Paul and his message of freedom and liberty more than anyone. After all , Christianity is about free will. God and Jesus never forced themselves on anyone. And Christians know more than anyone that you can't force your beliefs of Christianity on anyone. It doesn't work. People have to come to those things themselves or it's not real and won't stick. SO it really is quite puzzling that the Christians of this nation try to force their morals on everyone else through the government. Besides, Christianity isnt' a religion; it's a relationship and a personal one at that. Why involve government in that?

I have never lent financial support to either party, but I am to Mike Huckabee! He is a breath of fresh air. He stands by his convictions and he is not a political wind checker like the Clintons. That means a great deal as far as I am concerned.
I'm voting for the one the media is against.
People are saying that Mike Huckabee lied last night, and if that is true, what did he lie about? Be specific.
The man might as well be a polished Pat Robertson. I suppose its pretty easy to believe the article made such little mention of Ron Paul, a man the oldest and youngest of my extended family have united behind. No mention of the signs or supporters, the planes or the yacht pimping his image. The establishment just refuses to see that the emperor is, to his great humiliation, wearing no clothes.
I watched Huckabee on Bill Maher and was impressed w/ him then but am I the only who annoyed by the religious conatations of some questions. Separation of Church and State??? I don't know about other people but I don't want a President to make decisions based on his religious views AT ALL, just what is right for AMERICANS. Any one with common sense knows right from wrong, apparently this is lacking in our country lately>
How do you get your understanding of right and wrong? Our general social laws are based on Judeo-Christian ethics. Otherwise, it would be lawful for women to beaten and for teachers to be flogged for naming teddy bears Muhammed. Read the news! You don't want a Christian to influence public affairs! Would you rather have a Muslim? Would you rather have an atheist with no moral center? You need to read up on history in order to make any kind of intelligent comments.
You don't have to believe in organized religion to have moral values.
Wiilboy71, you said it was trouble. Why is it trouble? Will America explode?
