Why is it that when we discuss the rise of Huckabee, no one mentions that his popularity has more to do with the Fair Tax than any other issue? If any of the other candidates would come out in favor of the Fair Tax, they could win some of Huckabee's support.

Religion and/or religious beliefs have absolutely NO place in politics. Read Sam Harris' "The End of Faith: Religion, Terror and the Future of Reason", and you'll understand how organized religion is a curse on the future of humanity as a whole and destined to create more bloodshed and divisive policies if it doesn't result in the end of the World as we know it. Having a 'Man of God' in the White House is a HUGE mistake!

So, if we have no one in gov who believes in
God in some form: Is it then up to you non believers in govt to tell us how to believe. NOT, my gun stays loaded.

Anyone who thinks Huckabee has a chance at the nomination better take a look at this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MDUQW8LUMs8. While I find it entertaining that Huckabee and Chuck Norris have teamed up, I think this is political suicide for Huckabee.

The simple fact is that we all believe in something: God, evolution, nothing.....they all require faith. I will personally support someone who has faith in something and acts out based on their known convictions rather than support someone who either hides their faith or acts in opposition to their "stated" personal conviction. I could see such people dropping nuclear bombs on people half way round the world despite the fact that it runs contrary to their personal beliefs. Our faith and morals should always guide our actions. Hypocrisy is defined by the opposite.

Both of you are so wrong it isn't even funny. What this country needs is a revival and a turning to God for help. This country was founded by Christians and was blessed by God because of the beliefs. Today with the culture turning away from God we have more evil than ever. I for one wish that Christians (not those in name only) would stand up and be heard. It is time to take a stand for the values and morals that the Bible teaches. Mike Huckabee is the man who can do this and lead our country in the right direction

I so agree with what you said wmwink. especially the remark about (not those in name only). Just as with anything else there are good and bad Christians. It saddens me when the people who claim to followers of Christ are held up as examples, when those who are true followers quietly do the work of Christ. I do believe that this country was founded on Christian values, as for slavery and the other things that seem to be always brought up, this country was not the only one who had slaves and it was not the only time in history when slavery was used. I imagine that at the time it was how things were done. Right or wrong it was what was done. Although it pales in comparison I have done things in my past that was acceptable at the time now looking back I cringe to think of them.

As for Mike Huckabee it seems that some Christians would vote for him because he is a Christian. Just as some women would vote for Hillary because she is a women. Both instances are wrong. It seems as if we stop listening when we hear what we want. We need to constantly bring the things that Mike Huckabee says and has said against our compass which is the Bible. Also we need to not judge so harshly, these men and Hillary are not perfect. They are interviewing for a job, we have all been there ! But remember you can say whatever you want about what you would like to accomplish in that job... but you never know what you can actually do till you find out what was left behind by the previous person.

Yea...Founded by the same "Christians" who allows slavery and killed Native American....So much for the "Golden Rule".

The man might as well be a polished Pat Robertson. I suppose its pretty easy to believe the article made such little mention of Ron Paul, a man the oldest and youngest of my extended family have united behind. No mention of the signs or supporters, the planes or the yacht pimping his image. The establishment just refuses to see that the emperor is, to his great humiliation, wearing no clothes.

Religious zealots, meaning formalized religion zealots, are a most-intolerant bunch. Personally, I don't want someone who wraps themselves in religiosity at the expense of true spirituality. The latter is without all the pomp, bureaucracy, pedophiles and financial ties that in a sense equating to "you're only as accepted to the degree you tithe, conform and shut up.

This country was founded by a bunch of wealthy fat cats who no longer wished to pay taxes to King of England. They were slave owners who had extramarital affairs with their 'property', resulting in b a s t a r d children. I hardly think their religious beliefs are relevant. In any event, religion was the 'science' of their day and now that we actually have the fantastic world of science to prove/disprove various theories the only reason for religion is to divide the people.

Ron Paul has my vote. I'm a youth pastor, a christian and want someone I can trust. Paul is pro life, for limited government, he will protect oour borders and bring value back to our dollar. Check his support on myspace, youtube and his website, www.ronpaul2008.com

There is no denying he has a stronger following than the polls are showing. Many of the people voting for him have never voted before or not in a long time and those people don't get called by the pollsters.

Huckabee lied many times during the debate. I was at work watching with a dozen people and everyone caught it.

Ron Paul? between him and Kucinich, one beieves in flying saucers and one did pilot a flying saucer.

A person of faith brings alot to the table as far as the presidency. I would trust a leader like Huckabee because of the qualities one gains through faith in God...broad worldview, compassion, ability to forgive others, can admit mistakes and submit to a higher power, always seeking to better oneself. Don't you think a President can lead the country better by asking the One who rules it all for help???

I'm frankly terrified that a man who doesn't believe in evolution and is an ordained minister could be in charge of science and education in this country during a period in which both of those areas are critical for our competitive survival in an increasingly dangerous world. Sorry if I sound anti-religion. I'm not. But what we need now is a person who can unite, not divide, and I can't see this guy uniting anything.

Enter YouWhat are you thinking dont't you go to Church have you never heard that evolutionr is a LIE. God made us in His Image and I really don't think He is a APE, Get a grip and read your Bible You might just learn somethingComment

      • Posted By: rmblizzard @ 11/29/2007 2:05:52 PM

Whitelady blue, I think you may want to actually learn a bit about what you are trying to dismiss. The only time I ever hear about evolution being a lie is usually from from a fundamentalist christian with no experience in the subject. I have read the b ible as a child and young adult and could never ratify it with what I learned both formally in school and morally as I became more mature. The old testament is a moral and ethcial disaster area. Finally, eveolution never states that we descended from apes, rather we all evolved from a common ancestor. Next time you get a chance, go to a zoo and watch the young from one of the great ape lineages and compare this with a human infant of about a year old or so. It is amazing how close they are in their behavior and their actions.

It was clear that the media was trying to appear as though they were promoting Giuliani, as Huckabee was trying to copy Ron Paul's platform. They asked Ron Paul the fewest of questions because they are afraid of him since he is for the best interest of the American people. The media was trying to make us think they are promoting Guiliana while they are really promoting Huckabee. We are smarter than that. Furthermore, I think the media is rigging the debate polls to make it look as though Huckabee won. Everyone I talk to (and, I live in a large apartment complex) still likes Ron Paul; in fact, after seeing how he was treated by CNN, they like him even more now.

eugestel - "I am sorry for that contributor who has even gone to the extent of refering to his leader as an IDIOT."

I feel sorry for all Americans and the Iraqis too because we have a C student (read IDIOT) for a president.

Look at the history of our country and how it was founded on God, and how we were blessed because of it. Just because a person says they are "religious" doesn't mean they are in tune with God and doing what He wants to do. It's not religion that has made our country strong it is a relationship with God and doing what He wants us to do that has made us the leader of all nations in such a short amount of time.

I afraid that people like you will always have a one track mind......excluding "God" from your life...afraid of the reality that he exist.....it's easier to exclude him from your life that allowing him into yourlife...

I like Huckabee because he is a Christian and will not go against any Christian principles that I believe in.
He's no dummy and he's honest and shrewd in handling non-believers.

Having a man of God for president is just what Americans need. Maybe he will put some morals back into the White House and not spend his time trying to hide affairs from his wife while Terrorist plan our demise. All good things are from the Lord and having a man of the Lord in office is even better.
