pearsolm - I only bring religion into it because Huckabee has. ???At the heart of my governing is my faith.??? - Mike Huckabee. That is a problem for any thinking person not ruled by their personal faith. He has been quite clear on repeated occasions that he will govern this country, with his religious beliefs and faith at the core of his policies. TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Huckabee is going to get my vote. Character is important and principles are a must in the day in which we live.. Thank goodness for some one that stands up for what he believes and is not swayed by wnat men think..

The media have focused far too long on Guiliani, McCann, and Thompson. It's about time they realize Huckabee is a contender. But be careful with the "no foreign policy or military experience" jabs -- I seem to recall another former Arkansas governor who had the same lack of experience and the pundits, particularly liberal ones, seem to think he's the expert now!

Ha! Ha!....that's funny.....please don't forget that he has plenty of expirience with sin "fornication"

I'm a Democrat that has worked for some of the best on Capitol Hill. That said, I have been longing for a solid Republican candidate in our presidential race. Last night, in the middle of a school yard fight of bullies and a deer caught in the headlights a true paragon of strength and rectitude stepped forward... that was Governor Huckabee. Elections are no fun without a good race. A Huckabee - Powell ticket matched against a Clinton - Obama ticket would be one to watch. I might even vote for the GOP.

I really don't believe Huckabee won the debate as he clearly showed signs of lyng on many factors. I do believe, however, that the media is promoting him in order to "unpromote" Ron Paul. They WERE promoting Giuliani until he made a fool out of himself at the debate.

In the book of wisdom - the Bible, whether we accept it or not - we have read that it is the FOOL who has said in his heart " there is no God".Who said that God is not interested and should not be acknowledged in deciding issues affecting the affairs of men?.
I am sorry for that contributor who has even gone to the extent of refering to his leader as an IDIOT.

    Sorry.

I think Mike Huckabee is a very interesting candidate for sure. He is non-traditional and seems to be honest. I like his straight-forward answers to what appear to be difficult questions for most of the other candidates. Isn't it interesting that the other candidates seem to stumble over some pretty simple questions?

MSNBC hearts Huckabee! The media shills continue to force-feed the public their anointed choice: MittrudyMike Romulianabee. Meanwhile, the only real change agent and man of integrity, Dr. Ron Paul, is being purposely being ignored. Lame Stream Media, indeed.

I am 49 years old and have never lent financial support to any candidate, ever! But I have to Mike Huckabee! He is the most genuine and capable choice of either party. This nation has stood at some serious crossroads before. And I think there is perhaps more at stake this time than any other point in our history and this is the man for the job! He is a man of conviction and that is very rare in politics today. At the very least, you wont see him checking the political wind direction (Clintons) and weighing consequences before making a decision on an issue.

I second that pearsolm ... exactly my thoughts

Ron Paul all the way, he is honest and doesn't change his answers.

in reply to the question of dgcat: "What will next, stoning of the non-religious..." Seems like a lot of you here, the way you speak of God and those that follow God would stone the religious if you had your choice... Its hypocritical to say You would not want a man of God, or preacher, to be elected president , and then say Whats next ? stoning for those who are not of the same religion? When you just bashed someone elses religion yourself!!

Huckabee has my vote. Character does matter. Principles are important. Huckabee is PRESIDENTAL material. HE HAS MY VOTE.

I think it is time that we find a leader that will bring "God" back into our country, schools and our homes. Huckabee is our man!

To use the argument that a person's religious beliefs or religious background does not make him a good presidential candidate is the same thing as saying that a person would not be a good presidential candidate based on their race or ethnic background. If you don't agree with Huckabee's views, then don't vote for him Williboy71, but don't bring relion into it since this country is based on the freedom of choice and religious freedom!

wmwink - This country was founded by a bunch of wealthy fat cats who no longer wished to pay taxes to King of England. They were slave owners who had extramarital affairs with their 'property', resulting in b a s t a r d children. I hardly think their religious beliefs are relevant. In any event, religion was the 'science' of their day and now that we actually have the fantastic world of science to prove/disprove various theories the only reason for religion is to divide the people.

Huckabee is doing a fine job campaigning for #2 spot in Iowa pushing out Fred Thompson. He could become front runner but the only question is, can he finish? Can he use this debate win to raise enough money so he can campaign with vigor? Huckabee relates quite well to people which would serve him well in caucuses. Two or three wins in states like Iowa or Nevada could give him the name recognition he needs to merit his credentials as a strong challenger. The only thing Huckabee has to lose is an ambush from Thompson, another guy who just can't seem to get the ball rolling. Huckabee needs to be strong and possibily look into using negative campaign ads. The next 35 days are going to be crucial.

I happen second the thoughts of "wmwink"...people do not realize is that what this country needs is "GOD". We need a leader that will bring "God" back in to our country, schools, homes and work force. Huckabee is our man......

i can not vote for a pro-life fanatic like huckabee

In response to minuteman, Huck is in favor of the fair tax, not the "flat tax". Perhaps you should do some research yourself.
