Were you watching the same debate as me? I'm sorry, for all of Huckabee's TEMPORARY charisma, I always have the feeling that he's PREACHING FROM THE PULPIT and HE clearly believes what HE believes, which does not necessarily include the general population's views; and I don't feel he is willing to assimilate anyone else's view into his to "soften" his extreme views to be more "middle of the road". He's WAY TOO CONSERVATIVE on everything! He doesn't have the full-breath of experience needed for the highest office of this land! He's really great with the catch-phrases as you mentioned, he is good at communication ... at least from the pulpit! Scholarships for illegals? You've got to be kidding! I do not believe he is the best choice for us as a Nation! The only thing I like about Huckabee is that he's got great eyes that sparkle!

Temporary charisma? You don't know anything about Huckabee you bumbling fool. Also, he isn't GIVING scholarships to anyone. You have to earn them! Wether we like it or not, we're going to have children of illegal immigrants in our public schools everywhere. Those children that stay in the schools and graduate from them EARN that scholarship. We shouldn't go through our laws and say "Every student that graduates with a decent grade EARNS his degree, unless he's the son of an immigrant, in which case he doesn't earn it!" That's bull.

Religion and/or religious beliefs have absolutely NO place in politics. Read Sam Harris' "The End of Faith: Religion, Terror and the Future of Reason", and you'll understand how organized religion is curse on the future of humanity as a whole and destined to create more bloodshed and divisive policies if it doesn't result in the end of the World as we know it.

I hope your right, this will prove what the Bible has been saying all along. I guess then you will believe, of course a little to late then...

i can never voto for a pro-life fanatic like huckabee

  • Posted By: madinmichigan @ 11/29/2007 1:47:02 PM

WHY would we ever want to give college scholarships to illegal immigrants? Huckabee must be crazy to think that the taxpayers of this country are willing to foot the college bills for illegals when we can't get help for our own kids. Let the illegals go back where they came from and mooch off their own government.

Ron Paul is a constitutionalist. He thinks the current federal government should be reduced in size by half. He also wants to do away with the IRS AND the Federal Reserve. His nickname is Dr. No because he's never voted to increase taxes or to give the federal government any power beyond what is specifically granted to it by the Constitution. He'll never get elected though. The uncorruptables never are.

this man is amazing. i think he'd do more than be an excellent president. he's down to earth, none of his answers were predetermined. and unite? i don't know if you've looked at the world lately but your not going to be uniting anything in the middle east anytime soon. get over it. the war on terror is here to stay. i am an iraq campaign veteren with the marine corps (oorah). if we don't keep fighting over there then we'll be fighting in the states. think about kids going to school on a bus in, say, florida and having an IED or road side bomb go off next to it. or a suicide bomber walking the streets of manhatten. lets keep the war overseas, or your going to be way closer to combat than you ever wanted to be.

I want to thank you.first, for your service in Iraq. I agree 100% with you about having terrorists over here at the very first signs of weakness. In fact I'm surprised, with all the whining and war bashing going on in the states, that we haven't seen any yet. Either the FBI is better than I thinkthey are, or our enemies are all waiting to see the outcome of the election, and break loose if we are stupid(or whiny) enough to elect a presidential wimp. Most of us know who they are.

Do I want a preacher as president. No, just look at the last person elected who was so "Spiritually Minded". I believe in separation of Church and State. I do not want anyone elected just because he is religious....What will next, stoning of the non-religious [or not of the same religion].

Mike Huckabee is not conservative. It boggles my mind how far off the GOP base is. They don't even know what they want. Huckabee is a big government, big spender. He is a charmer, all style no substance.

  • Posted By: minuteman @ 11/29/2007 1:39:05 PM

Im sorry, Huck is all flash and no substance. He even contradicted himself several times last night in the debate. Do some research into his record as govenor. And down with the flat tax. Why legalize a tax by making it apportioned when its illegal and unconstitutional to begin with.

The last person we need as President of the United States is an ordained Baptist Minister! Anyone who allows their religious beliefs to influence policy should be marked off the list straight away. Example - see our current Idiot in Chief, who constantly quotes Bible scripture/references the Bible when discussing world affairs, particularly terrorism. Like those comments are supposed to have some kind of calming effect.

Comment on your comment: The LAST thing this country needs is a idiot with no moral compass. Didn't we have 8 years of that? C'mon, have a soul!

The Clinton News Network did it agian...the goofy Republicans should have known better than to let the left leaning network plant anti-conservatives in the debate....That flaming National Guard general is a Clinton campaign operative, they fly him from California and they did not know he is a Clinton campaign worker? Right !...The lady in the focus group that like Edwards, she is no more a Republican than Howard Fineman. The You Tube video that made a mockery of our Vice President was probably produced by Ted Turner's group....the candidates should have had the guts to tell CNN that they did not appreciate a left wing newsnetwork abusing their powers and they never should have answered the loaded vdeo......it goesd on, and on....I am now more than ever commited to help the Conservative cause after seeing this debacle...thansk CNN for igniting my passion to expose you and your Fineman liberal media shills for what you don"t have the guts to declare about yourselves...

The only difference between a radical Christian and a radical Muslim, is the fact that radical Christians aren't willing to blow themselves up to make a point yet. Give them time and opportunity, the day will come.

I am not a republican, but Huckabee was so good, I might convert. He made everyone else look like either a bumbling idiot , or a buffoon.

Awesome, Nelson! Please go to MikeHuckabee.com and learn for yourself more about his positions on issues. I think you will find he is a leader worth supporting!

I agree with mosslady and am confounded by wittgenstein. Huckabee is not trusting in his ability to unite this nation. He is trusting in the source of his faith to unite this nation. Interestingly enough, the founders of this great nation trusted in the same God to unite our fledgling nation

CNN asked the Republicans many questions that they wouldn't ask Democrats. Rather than making the Republicans look bad, it did just the opposite. Now, the CNN liberals have some real choices that they can't ignore. Leading those Republican choices is Mike Huckabee. He knows who he is, what he is talking about [and not afraid to talk about]!
