Let me answer my own questions. The most qualified person on the Republican side capable of leading this country is John McCain This is based on facts and history not madness and "unproven truths". He is a man that is battled tested. The worst candidate on the Republican side is Nick Romney. This guy is turning into a pathalogical liar. The way he flip-flops on issues leaves me dizzy. This guy will say anything to get into office. You cannot trust what he is saying he just changes his opinions based on what is popular, especially on issues like immigration and abortion. Niether him or Guliani(this nut wants to build a wall any president that wants to build a wall is a divi der not a unifer) are ready to be President. The argument that John McCain looks mad all the time is not proper criteria to judge a President. Look at Abraham Lincoln appearance. John McCain has the courage skill and experience to be President. No one else in the Republican party even comes close. It would be hard to vote against John considering his resume. People get blitz by the media. They put Guliani and Romney as front runners and give Macain no respect because they say he looks mad all the time. He not angry he is just serious is not a clown like these other Republican candidates. I am really disappointed on how Gulliani and Romney would deal with major issues. These candidates would definetly be divisive. They are not experienced enough to stick by their guns. If people educate themselves there is just no way they can say that Romney and Guiliani compare to McCcain. McCain can bring people on both sides of the isle together because he commands much respect. He knows what are brave men and women are going through in Iraq. The man is a soldier, statesmen and gentlemen. I do not know if I would vote for him in a Presedential election(I would have to learn more about his domestic policies) but he has long had my respect and admiration. What do you Republicans think?? Do you think anyone in your party has better qualifications and experience than McCain. And please do not tell me that Romney's experience of organizing the Olympics compares to Macain's experience. Please do not tell me that Gulliani can run Washington better than McCain. Guilliani will cave under pressure, who knows what that man does in private. I can tell you that Macain would never be caught in a dress.

I too am tired of religion getting in the way of politics, but from a different angle. Most of the candidates that tout their religion and how it has defined them try to push their own religious beliefs onto the rest of us. They seem to have no problem with trying to rescind the separation of church and state. Any candidate who constantly brings up his religious views should be looked at with much skepticism.

    • Posted By: lj84 @ 11/30/2007 5:37:43 AM

So you're saying they should hide their religious views? Even though it's part of who they are? Don't we have enough hiding going on in politics?

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 3:51:01 AM

I don't see how religion is 'getting in the way of politics'. Who is touting their religion? None of the candidates bring it up unless they are specifically asked. They are certainly not pushing religion on anybody. Who is trying to 'rescind the separation of church and state', and why do you refer to it as a law or something? That phrase never shows up in the constitution. I think your opinions should be looked upon with skepticism, because it seems to me you're overly-sensitive and paranoid regarding people of faith.

Huckabee is a fraud and a huckster. Huckabee talks about putting the IRS out of business, but he doesn't tell you at the same time that he plants to replace the income tax with a national sales tax which will "not reduce revenues." In other words, he plans not to reduce your taxes AT ALL!!! In addition, he has no credible proposals for reducing spending and stopping the financial hemorrhaging of this country with our huge and exponentially increasing national debt. Only Ron Paul has the answers and the leadership to turn this country around and restore freedom and the Constitution. Google Video or YouTube: "Ron Paul" and join the Ron Paul movement.

    • Posted By: scraprat @ 11/29/2007 3:24:20 PM

You sound brainwashed. Ron Paul will do this, Ron Paul will do that, Ron Paul has the answers. To me Ron Paul sounds like someone who forgot to take their meds for too long.

      • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 5:12:16 AM

Isnt ron pau in favor of the National income tax too? Any idiot can look up the FairTax and see that it's a sales tax that replaces the income tax, among others. But youre right it doesnt reduce taxes. It was devised to be completely neutral to the system we currently have in place. This doesnt preclude the fact that Huckabee has taken the pledge against NEW taxes and that he's a strong advocate for reducing spending. One of the first ways he would do that under the FairTax is eliminating the bureaucracy of the IRS.

  • Posted By: rcmitchell @ 11/29/2007 3:01:07 PM

Huckabee in neither a conservative nor a Republican, he is an opportunist who is taking advantage of the many evangelical Christians who are desparate to find a candidate. His Christian rhetoric will only take him so far. Sooner or later people will see his record for what it is and what it is not! He is said to have destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas and left the Republican party in shambles. I pray that people will look closer into who this man really is because they will not like what they find.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 5:05:22 AM

Well here's his record.. make up your own mind:
      * Pushed through a Democrat legislature the first, major broad based tax cuts in the state's history.
      * Pushed through a Democrat legislature an $80 million tax cut package.
      * Cut the state's capital gains tax by 25%.
      * Established a Property Taxpayers' Bill of Rights
      * Limited the increase in property taxes to 10% a year for individuals and 5% per taxing unit

Here are a few that they left off the list:

      * Eliminated the income tax for families below the poverty line.
      * Increased the standard deductions.
      * Eliminated the marriage penalty.
      * Eliminated bracket creep by indexing the income taxes to inflation, thereby preventing taxpayers from moving into a higher bracket when their paychecks increase due to inflations.
      * Doubled the child care tax credit.
      * Eliminated capital gains tax on the sale of a home.

How much did this man raise the taxes in Arkansas???

Huck gives scholarships to illegal aliens. Period. End of story. He did not uphold the law. He will not uphold the law. Illegal means illegal. Illegal aliens got scholarship money that American citizens did not get. There is a finite amount of money and he gave it to people who have no legal presence in America.

Huck is a great story teller and I am sure that he makes a fine preacher come Sunday, but he is NOT presidential. He reminds me a lot of Jimmy Carter.

Huck is for increases in the size of government, not decreases.

That flat tax??? Kiss your mortgage deduction goodbye! No more deductions for donating to charities, including your church.

He is a flash in the pan. Nothing more.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 5:01:44 AM

Nope it's not a flat tax, it the Fair Tax. Huge difference. "Kiss your mortgage deduction goodbye" Well why would you need an income tax deduction on your mortgage if you're no longer paying INCOME TAXES?!! The only thing you pay taxes on is what you CHOOSE to buy! Completely voluntary. Same thing for charities. Plus, when you're getting your entire paycheck it really frees up your disposable income so you can tithe your butt off at church.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:56:47 AM

No NO NO. YOU are lying. He favored a bill, which didn't pass the Arkansas Legislature, that would have allowed college scholarships for children who attended school in the state since they were 5 years old, maintained an A average and were applying for citizenship. "They had to earn it," Huckabee said. Which candidate are you supporting? You are constantly trying to tear Huckabee down, but not Trying to build anyone else up?

  • Posted By: whywhat @ 11/29/2007 3:14:18 PM

Huckabee sunk like a rock last night.
Is there anything this guy doesnt like to spend money on? Nasa, illegal immegrants, endless wars, entitlements.
while endorsing all these liberal money graves he wants to eliminate the irs.
Could somebody please tell him that in order to cut taxes you have to cut spening?
he'd make a formidable clown, but a horrible president.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:50:35 AM

Somebody should tell you that the FairTax which Mike Huckabee is advocating is completely revenue neutral. So it has nothing to do with cutting taxes or spending ( although Huckabee is in favor of both of those things as well.) I dont know what a "liberal money grave" is, and I dont know what you have against Nasa and the exploration of space. But I can tell you that Gov. Huckabee is definitely not into spending money on immigrants, 'endless wars', and entitlements.

  • Posted By: ghialover @ 11/29/2007 3:23:00 PM

Huckabee's faith alone is his foreign policy. If we are going to battle this Islamic Extremism that is plaguing the world, we need solid Christian leadership. Who better qualified that Mike Huckabee?

    • Posted By: The General @ 11/29/2007 4:03:10 PM

This is exactly what is wrong w/ you conservatives. You sound like the islamic extermists. These people that are fighting us are the same as you and me. The just want food for there families a place to live and so on. I feel so sorry for you "christians" that if you except anthor persons religion yours get voided since there is only 1 way to god in your view. May be an even handed policy in the mid east would go further than trying to kill the into submission.

      • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:43:58 AM

Please try to make a distinction between religious conservatives, and the rest of us conservatives. "These people that are fighting us are the same as you and me" except they want a global caliphate, like to behead people, and blow up innocent women in children for the hell of it. I'm a former Christian, but I think The General is just misinformed about Christians teachings, or what Christians actually believe.

  • Posted By: ApolloKnowsAll @ 11/29/2007 3:27:11 PM

How about Huck's people sending out bigotted emails in Iowa? Judge not, preacher boy!!

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:38:17 AM

This is not true. Though it is very clever to attack someone by saying that they've attacked someone else. "preacher boy"? You just really hate Christians, don't you? They're all just stupid, evolution denying bigots, right?

  • Posted By: Takeastand @ 11/29/2007 3:29:58 PM

Huck is just not ready to be President of the United States. While folksy and witty he is just not ready for the most important job in the world -- He just isn't. Sorry.

Great running mate for someone else. Maybe Huck in 2012????????

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:35:35 AM

Well you've stated it, so I guess I'll just agree with it, right? HOw about this: Im the greatest looking guy in the world. Thats just all there is to it. Sorry. No.. IF you want to convince someone, you have to actually put forward an argument. Why is he not ready? Why are other candidates more ready?

  • Posted By: Loving Mom @ 11/29/2007 3:31:30 PM

Come on now! According to many polls, including the CNN poll (who hosted this debate), Ron Paul won this debate! Why does the media try to sweep Ron Paul under the rug? Paul was one of 3 candidates who were virtually excluded from this debate, yet Paul came out on top! If Ron Paul is such a quack, and supposedly a long-shot with little to no chance to win, what is the media afraid of? There is no doubt that if the American citizens could fairly hear what Ron Paul has to say, he would win this thing hands-down and there ain't one thing the media could do about it! Even with the vote-fixing at the polling computers, he would still win! Don't be afriad! Let Ron Paul be heard.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:33:00 AM

Well aren't the polls web-polls? And can't people vote again and again? A lot of Paul supporters are young people with nothing better to do that sit in front of a computer and keep running up the numbers for Ron Paul. I dont think Ron Paul is a quack but unfortunately the mainstream media wont pay much attention to you unless youve got hight numbers in REAL scientific polls. He's gotten to say his piece in every debate, and ends every answer with bringing our troops home, it seems. What more do you want for him? Free airtime on all the major networks?

Here's wheat Huckabee actually did as governor. You can't deny that he's a fiscal conservative.

More likely, you are a freak and a Hack. Name calling really doesn't make me sound to intelligent or mature, does it?

  • Posted By: m650 @ 11/29/2007 4:00:28 PM

I can't believe that Hucklabee could be for spending more money on people who are not paying any taxes and are already draining our social systems. I'd like to see our American children getting a decent education before I worry about illegals.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:06:51 AM

What are you talking about? Where is "Hucklabee" spending money on anybody? The executive branch doesnt do that!!!! You're just buying the lies that other campaigns are spewing. 'Uh, duh.. Huckabee loves illegal immigrants and wants to give them our money' . Please consider the source when you are reading these attacks.

  • Posted By: ChurchofBruce @ 11/29/2007 4:00:32 PM

It will be very fun for this Democrat to watch the Republican party tear itself apart over Mike "I'm a religious nut like you but I want to give your tax money to illegals" Huckabee. Pass the popcorn!

Watch what happens tonight when Mike Huckabee appears on Hardball with Chris Mathews. Mathews has become annoyed with the Clinton campaign. He has also implied that Huckabee is not a real contender. More of a bible belt hayseed. If Huckabee makes a good impression on Hardball tonight, Chris could become if not a supporter at least less critical, helping Huckabee turn a corner in the media. The Liberal left has been accused of promoting Huckabee to embarrass the leading Republican nominees They may be creating a monster they can't control. His lack of foreign policy experience, one could say is not offset by time spent in elementary school in indinesia nor is experience as a First lady. Afterall is Laura Bush or Nancy Ragan or Rosie Carter high in the short list to lead the country?

    Mrs. Carter Qualified?

    • Posted By: like-N-Mike in SC @ 11/29/2007 4:38:47 PM

Matthews will NEVER be a supporter of ANY republican. He will do his best to continue his caricature of Huckaby as a "Bible belt hayseed", but will fail miserably. I predict Huckaby will stand his ground, articulate his beliefs clearly and logically, and basically each Matthew's lunch, but he won't sway Matthews even a little.

      • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 4:01:33 AM

I really think that Mike Huckabee is the most intelligent candidate running for president. Of course intelligence can be measured in many ways. Romney was good in the business world. Thomson was good at acting like someone smart. And Giuliani was pretty smart in trying to hide his girlfriends. HEhEH.. seriously though, im not trying to slam any of our guys. I like them all.

  • Posted By: Jimbo47 @ 11/29/2007 3:34:41 PM

Huckabee says he will get rid of the IRS,wow I could have swore that was Ron Pauls Idea in the beginng. Its strange how all the canidates all answer the same as Ron Paul on the abortion issue now.

    • Posted By: jacbox @ 11/29/2007 4:01:50 PM

Getting rid of the IRS is a well supported idea by many of your fellow citizens, but lazy peopel do not like it.
The main idea behind getting rid of the IRS is called the Fair Tax Law. In the Fair Tax Law we would save billions of dollars by not funding the buildings and employess of the IRS. Also, we would keep all of our income from working, which would encourage more people to work. With more money in our pockets, we could choose how much to save and how much to spend. Spending would go up, which would improve our economy.
So how would the government run? On a high Sales Tax, probably around 20 % (in which illegals and millions of tourists from other countries would also be paying that tax (not just our citizens). To respond to me, email jacbox@hotmail.com. To read more...

      • Posted By: micahjrose @ 11/30/2007 3:58:51 AM

Calculate the financial figures first. A high sales tax disproportionately affects the poor, and middle class. Plus, the revenue would be a pittance. As an example, I calculated what Washington State would generate with a flat 2% income tax with 2004 statistics, and I believe the number was somewhere in the area of 6 times what our 8.9% sales tax generates. I did the calculation in 2005. In addition sales taxes raise the price of items and retard sales.

How great would life be without the IRS!

  • Posted By: arkagr @ 11/29/2007 4:11:32 PM

You better look really close at his record in Arkansas as governor. We have never seen a more spiteful, back-biting, anger driven, and look you in the face and lie through his teeth politician than Mike Huckabee. He has destroyed the public education system, and let many convicted criminals simply walk away from serving their appointed punishments. His persona is that he is ALWAYS right and if you don't agree with him and do so strongly enough, you are dead meat. Don't just take my word for it, ask any small town school superintendent.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 3:57:57 AM

Look really closely at Gov. Huckabee's record in Arkansas, and you will most likely never find a more honest and respectable political candidate. He did not destroy the public education system, and was very harsh with criminals. Perhaps he really was just Right :) Just look at his record, but not the one written by Democrats in Arkansas.

I SAY IF HE HAS CHARACTER, HONOR AND INTEGRITY, HE CAN OVER COME THE LACK OF EXPERIENCE IN THE STATED AREAS. IFHE HAS CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY, THEN HE WILL BE ABLE TO SPOT IT IN SOMEONE ELSE WHO MAY HAVE THE EXPERIENCE HE LACKS AND APPOINT THEM TO HIS CABINET SHOULD HE BE ELECTED. • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 3:52:57 AM

So what? Every candidate tries to run on integrity honor and character. But I think Mike Huckabee is actually the real deal. I don't understand your comment about' lies. GWB has never been proven to lie, as far as I'm aware.

  • Posted By: Paul927 @ 11/29/2007 4:25:30 PM

I would vote for Hillary before Huckabee. He is a religious bigot who does not believe that Mormons or others who don't fit his evangelical definition are actually Christians. He also is a hypocrite on ethics. Funny how Romney is getting clobbered for his religion, but Huckabee's more prejudiced religious tenets get absolutely no attention.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 3:45:52 AM

Where are you getting this info? Have you ever actually heard Mike Huckabee speak? You would vote for Hillary over Huckabee.. well i think that tells us all we need to know. I just really dont think you should lie about other peoples' beliefs or put words in their mouths.

Christians--don't be so gullible. Remember the last guy we elected because he professed Christ? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, duh.
Huckabee is in bed with the CFR, going to their meetings. We're on the road to globalization. New World Order! Read the article by the CFR president, Richard Hauss, if you don't believe it. Google his name. You'll find it.
Huckabee said he would support Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming eligible to run for prez. Don't you think that's odd coming from a Baptist preacher considering Arnold is pro-choice and pro-gay marriage?
And what's the deal with Huckabee destroying thousand of dollars worth of computers in order to hide records? Look into it.
The man is no saint. He wants our borders open to all. This is going to destroy our sovereignty. There is a North American Union in the works. If you're not familiar, you need to research. It's the plan, and it's working.
Huckabee might be a nice guy, but he'd finish off the Constitution in a heartbeat. He's plainly said he would wage war against Iran without Congress' approval. Geez, people, wake up.
Please, please RESEARCH before you vote! This is the most important election in history. It will make or break our nation.

    • Posted By: christopherwilkerson @ 11/30/2007 3:42:33 AM

Awww you caught us razbury...yes it's true Mike Huckabee runs the CFR and is secretly best friends with Hillary Clinton. He wants Schwarzenegger to be president so we can usher in a 4th reich. He obviously destroyed a bunch of computers in Arkansas because they had all his plans to perpetrate the 9-11 attacks. He wants absolutely no borders because he thinks sovereignty is stupid, and burritos are great. Furthermore, not only is he not a saint, but he actually has been seen with horns and a pitchfork. Sigh.. I think you need to stop doing so much 'research' on conspiracy-theory sites. Or are you just making this stuff up? You must feel so smart and superior to be able to tell the rest of us to "WAKE UP" ! Geez, i never heard that before.
