      LOL

      • Posted By: The General @ 11/29/2007 4:48:38 PM

WUA Elaborate! I know America is a wake you must be very sleepy. Have you ever traveled more than 15 min from your trailer.

        • Posted By: WAKE UP AMERICA @ 11/29/2007 5:30:07 PM

Nope. Your mom's trailer is only ten minutes away.

Defend our freaking borders is what he will do if the war hits home! And with Ron Paul as president, sir, all of our military won;t be in Korea, Iraq, Phillipines, Japan, Afganastan anywhere else the globalists have occupied over the last 40 years. If the war hit's home, it will be a country this time that we unconsitutionally invaded God forbid. The majority of the world is hopeful we will elect Ron Paul to stop the warmongering.

    • Posted By: awletz @ 11/29/2007 4:30:36 PM

As it is now we're defensless while our military is out policing the world. there's not even enough National Guards left to fight a fire.
RP will bring the military home where it should be to defend this country.

    • Posted By: The General @ 11/29/2007 4:22:02 PM

It's not going to follow us home. They just want us to be more understanding of thier needs and culture. When we do, they will ask us back. We are the best hope for the world, but not w/ the us vs them attitude. Maybe you should go to those countries and speak and eat w/ these peoiple You will see we are more alike than different.

God is soo involved in our every day life. This country wouldn't be here without himm. Our country was founded on the standars set for by God for us through the Bible. Our founding father's used the Bible to set our country's landmarks of laws and morals. This country should not change those landmarks to accommodate contemporary changes. Life is from conception, marriage is for a man and woman, and I have a right to bare arms. Mike Huckabee is the man to hold stead fast to these beliefs. I was lucky to hear him speak at The First Redeemer Baptist Church in Cumming, Ga. Deanna Woodstock, GA.,

    • Posted By: WAKE UP AMERICA @ 11/29/2007 5:27:51 PM

Amazing. I had no idea that the Bible mentioned anything about guns.

  • Posted By: rschumacher @ 11/29/2007 5:25:18 PM

    Huckabee For President!!!!
He shows the only Republican strength. His moral charator really stands tall over the rest of our so call choices. Including the Democrates

  • Posted By: kitkat007 @ 11/29/2007 2:31:58 PM

Who cares if you are religious or not. I could care less if an atheist was president. I am sick and tired of people voting on the religious aspect of the presidency. I just want an honest person in there. Could that ever happen?

    • Posted By: westerncar @ 11/29/2007 2:40:20 PM

I care!!!! We as a nation have allowed the minorty such as you to drive this country to the brink! God has removed his hand of protection from us and all can clearly see what we have reaped from that sowing. Does 9-11, V-Tech or Columbine mean anything to you just to name a few???????? Wake up and hit your knees tonight before you go to bed and ask God to open your heart and your eyes.

      • Posted By: pkellum @ 11/29/2007 3:17:02 PM

I am a christian as well as you and I beleive in the whole bible, please stop trying to do Gods work of judgement. I know he does things to wake us up so we will look to him. Talking to someone who is not a christian in anger and judgement is not bringing them to believe it is chasing them in the other direction. Use Love and reason not a hammer.

  • Posted By: TOMMYGUN @ 11/29/2007 2:42:59 PM

The separation of church and state makes both church and state stronger.
Our leaders must represent ALL of the people, and since Christianity excludes
other religions along with their values and beliefs, a Christian can not effectively
    represent everyone.

Try to remember that governance is an INCLUSIVE concept, while religion is an
    EXCLUSIVE concept.

Religion and governance, or church and state, do not, have never, and never will mix well.

    • Posted By: CJP123 @ 11/29/2007 5:23:07 PM

Tommy is speaking about laws, and Perry and Kellum are speaking about religion. We should be able to have an Athiest, Jew, Catholic, Christian, Seventh Day Adventist, Muslim, Non-Denominational running this country and abiding by its laws without that person's religious pursuits interferring with said duty. AND, that elected official should not interfere with any other citizen's rights to pursue their personal religious preferences, either. No one is forced to be a Democrat, Republican or otherwise, it is a matter of choice. One could be a Christian Democrat or an Atheist Republican if they thought they could actually get elected. That could happen if we as a whole truly honored the separation of church and state, but we do not.

    • Posted By: pkellum @ 11/29/2007 3:07:56 PM

It is apparent you do not know much about religion . Clinton is clams to be a christian Romney is Mormon, Obama says he is a christian. What do you want an atheist. who will outlaw all religion? Separation of church and state is about religon controling government not about religious people in goverment. When Liberman was running if anyone had discussed his religon they would have been called an bigot. I am happy to say wwe have several Jewish people in our senate, should they leave because of seperation of church and state. Of course not. As a christian I do not know if I would vote for Mr Hucabee as of yet but I am happy he has not tried to hide who he is and what he belives. Also, most of us christians understands no one here is perfect and Huckabee will not be either.

    • Posted By: JPerryE @ 11/29/2007 3:07:32 PM

Well TOMMYGUN, you may be speaking about some individuals who call themselves Christians. You don't speak about Christianity whose greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and to love your neigbor as yourself.

  • Posted By: arkie @ 11/29/2007 1:08:07 PM

I am from Arkansas and after having Huckabee as the governor for WAY too long I can honestly say that I wouldn't vote for him for dog catcher, let alone President of the United States. I'm surprised that the media, who love to dig up dirt on everyone else, hasn't bothered to do any research. He championed a new computer system for the state that at first had a budget of 30 million, which actually cost 52 million, and still didn't work as it was supposed to. Or how about his acceptance of inappropriate "gifts" from supporters? Or his wife and children? There is a reason this so-called family man and minister doesn't have his family heavily involved in his campaign. I guess Republicans will latch on to anyone who seems to have even the slightest chance, but really you can't trust what you see on the surface.

    • Posted By: phenrryiam @ 11/29/2007 5:22:13 PM

arkie, since your a republican hater, and probably inclined to snivel at anyone calling themselves Christians, you should follow your own advise to do "research". You simply pick and choose the leftist media bites that pleases you and then report it as fact. Your inuendos and claims about others (when you have absoluetly no knowledge of true facts concering anyone you wish to bully) are absolutely detestable. Have you ever read Huckabees book published about 10 years ago entitled "Character is an issue."? But then of course, that would not be anything you may be interested in, would it? Your prejeduces are mind bogling.

    • Posted By: ArHawgs @ 11/29/2007 1:36:29 PM

"Inappropriate gifts from supporters"??? If this is true, can you honestly tell me that you think none of the other politicians have not accepted something inappropriate! Huck may have gone over budget on the computers, but how many surplus MILLIONS were left for the state of Arkansas when Huck left office?

      • Posted By: hdunne @ 11/29/2007 3:34:46 PM

The question you need to be asking is this. Whose money was it and why wasnt it returned to them?

  • Posted By: willkd @ 11/29/2007 3:11:08 PM

As an Arkansan, please, please do not let this man become president! It was the happiest day of my life when he left office and I wish to see him remain unemployed as long as possible. As for scholarships for illegals-come on. Only citizens have rights and we could do with more scholarships for our struggling CITIZENS.

    • Posted By: tiredofitall @ 11/29/2007 5:12:02 PM

i AM PAYING ATTENTION TO YOU BECAUSE YOU LIVE IN ARKANSAS. i LIVE ON THE BORDER NEXT TO MEXICO. MY OWN DAUGHTER CAN'T GO TO COLLEGE BECAUSE OF THE COST, AND SHE IS AN AMERICAN. DUE TO THE ILLEGALS LIVING OFF OF OUR GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS, NOT PAYING THEIR HOSPITAL BILLS, AND NOT PAYING TUTION TO OUR SCHOOLS (SOME AUNT OR MAYBE FAMILY MEMBER HAS AN ADDRESS IN THE USA) THE TOWN ALONG THE BORDERS ARE BEING
KEPT UP BY HARD WORKING AMERICAN SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS. EDUCATION: IF THE TEACHERS WERE ALLOWED TO STAY IN THEIR CLASSROOMS AND TEACH INSTEAD OF GOING TO ALL THESE MEETINGS TO LEARN TO TEACH, WE WOULD HAVE BETTER EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN, INSTEAD OF SUB TEACHERS TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN. WE HAD A BETTER EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM WHEN THERE WAS LESS MONEY. WELL EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT RELIGION BECAUSE OF THE MUSLIMS. I AM A CHRISTIAN, AND MY FOR FATHERS DID FIGHT FOR MY RIGHTS AND FREEDOM BACK WHEN THIS NATION WAS FORMED. ILLEGALS HAVE NO RIGHTS IN THIS COUNTRY, THEY ARE NOT AMERICANS. IF THEY WANT TO DO IT RIGHT BECOME A CITIZEN THE RIGHT WAY. PAY YOUR TAXES, QUIT LIVING OFF THE GOVERNMENT, OR GO BACK AND HELP YOUR OWN COUNTRY.

  • Posted By: lottabuckhunter @ 11/29/2007 4:49:24 PM

As I read through a few of the comments on this page I see many people that want a lot of the same thing. No illegal immigrants voting. No more wars. No more bashing of other candidates. Less taxes. No tax breaks for the rich. Cheaper college education.
What about making the immigrants that can't afford to live here stay out so they stop taking jobs away from the people that live here?
What about our country trying to take care of it's own problems instead of trying to fix someone elses?
What about someone telling the truth about how they actually feel on certain issues instead of lying to capture their vote?
What about taxing imports enough to pay most of our taxes so we have to pay less?
What about taxing the rich that continue to import things from other countries to fill their pocket and take jobs from Americans?
What about giving all of our children the chance to get a college education so we as a country become stronger?
What if we rely on other countries so much that they decide to raise thier prices as high as we do here in America and we lost all of our companies and knowledge we used to make?
The fact is, some of us continue to think of ourselves and not the rest of our fellow Americans. We need to focus on who is here now, and what we can do to help them, not the rest of the world.
I don't think I've seen anyone tell us they had these things in mind. And they want us to vote for who?

  • Posted By: labradora @ 11/29/2007 4:40:32 PM

The founding fathers of the United States were predominately Deists, not Christians. They believed in God, but not the religion of Christianity. So before many keep going on about how this nation was founded as a Christian nation, do some research.

    • Posted By: phenrryiam @ 11/29/2007 5:05:44 PM

labradora, it seems you are more interested in religion that politics. You seem to be religiously fanatical against those who express faith in a higher being and elect to follow the way of Jesus the Christ. Which would you rather have in the white house, a proven liar (concerning deeds done that would rather be kept secret) or someone who expresses what they believe without recourse. No one (of the candidates) here is trying to pound their religious beliefs into your head. It seems that you are the one who loves to pound your beliefs of anti religion into others heads by making statements that are not well researched and quite frankly have no ring of truth to them. Shame on you.

    • Posted By: phenrryiam @ 11/29/2007 4:55:34 PM

labradora, apparently you have not done your research, probably only repeating heresay that pleases your ears. Your statement is very inaccurate. The type of research that is needed that accurately portrays the sentiments and statements of our founding fathers is available, but it takes effort to get the truth. Your statement proves that you have not done this.

I agree, Razbury. I am an elder in a very conservative, Bible believing church and I can tell you that the people are FED UP with being duped by the likes of GW Bush. Not on his faith, but on his commitment to the constitution and to cutting spending. Huckabee claims to be Jeffersonian, but then wants to pass a national ban on smoking in public places, even on private property? Not only does he not understand private property, but federalism as well! And Huckabee hasn't met a spending bill he doesn't like, even for illegals!

Need to talk to you. I have information on Giuliani. I run and founded We the People a national whistleblower organization. Look at google and put my name in Stephen Comley. • Posted By: lawyant @ 11/29/2007 2:20:00 PM

This country was founded on Christianty, This country was a much better place when God was allowed to be here. Lets give this country back to the one true creator. God Huckabee may just be the one to do that.

    • Posted By: Amusedone @ 11/29/2007 2:41:09 PM

Our Founding Fathers were Deist. While they acknowledged the concept of a divine creator, they did not proscribe to a particular religion. Thus, the idea of separation of Church and State, allowing the citizentry to follow what ever beliefs or doctrine of their choice. They also made sure that the Constitution forbid the State from instituting a State religion. This was to keep any particular religious group from creating a State religion. Therefore, while Christianity may have played a role in the ethics of our nation, it was not the guiding principal behind the founding of our country. The guiding principal was the "Enlightenment", which is tolerant of many views of faith.

I highly recommend to everyone who even considers that this country was founded on Christianity to read "American Scripture" - currently the author's name is escaping me. It is about our Constitution and all the discussions from our Founding Fathers. It truly is educational.

      • Posted By: pkellum @ 11/29/2007 3:51:31 PM

The founding fathers of our nation were mostly christians and yes they did build our country on the principles they found in the Bible. There are many books out there who will us bias to state history to fit their views, but if you research it your self you will find they did use christian values. What they did want is for everyone to be able to worship in their own way, and we do that, although we christians are getting a lot of people who say they want the seperation of church and state but realy mean they want to get rid of christians. By the way "state religion" from history means all of us would have to be Baptist or Mormon or what ever our preident wanted us to be it does not mean a person of religion can not serve in the government.

        • Posted By: CJP123 @ 11/29/2007 4:53:33 PM

First, I have to say that perhaps the people who founded this country were not perfect, and did not create all the founding institutions using perfect information. It was a long time ago, too, and as you state,
"There are many books out there who will us bias to state history to fit their views, but if you research it your self you will find they did use christian values", which is essentially what the person who wrote the post you responded to said, but used deists instead of christians. All research is based on best information available, and history is inherently biased, as we all tell it from our own perspectives. Also, you say, "What they did want is for everyone to be able to worship in their own way, and we do that, although we christians are getting a lot of people who say they want the seperation of church and state but realy mean they want to get rid of christians." Perspective is everything, I guess, because I might change what you said a bit and state:
Although NON-christians are getting a lot of people (Christians) who say they want the separation of church and state but really mean they want to get rid of NON-christians." Why does it have to be so black and white, when all there is, is personal perspective?

    • Posted By: The General @ 11/29/2007 2:41:52 PM

Sorry, God is not a christian, at leasr most people of the world think so. It will be a better world when the divisiveness of religion is gone. Look at all the world trouble spots it's religion!

      • Posted By: CJP123 @ 11/29/2007 3:09:39 PM

Amen....but I doubt, sadly, that religious divides will ever end...people who use religion as their cause are usually very fearful, and fearfulness leads to people reacting rather than thinking through things at a deep level.

    • Posted By: CJP123 @ 11/29/2007 3:06:23 PM

      Dear Lawyant:

This country was founded on Christianity? Was that the religion of the American Indians? P.S. "God" is everywhere. Humans do not have any control over that...except in this country we do allow for separation of church and state, if you are still unaware of that! God Huckabee is a mere mortal, not a god, certainly you cannot be thinking rationally if you would put any human on the same level as God...how is that Christian? If you want to give this country back to the one true creator...give it back to the Indians who were here before...or did God have nothing to do with that? Good grief...if you support Huckabee, that is my vote against him...anyway, he is not the one to be President of the USA....especially with a name like that!

  • Posted By: billybernardo @ 11/29/2007 4:51:35 PM

I liked Huckabee in the first few debates but his humor is draingin on me. I mean, can the guy go two consecutive questions WITHOUT a joke? I have come to the conclusion that he uses humor and well practiced mantras to avoid questions and hide the fact that among all the candiates, he is probably the most likely to bring a continuation of the GW Bush presidency.

Ron Paul is the most conservative candidate on the issues of decresing spending, decreasing taxes, immigration policy, gun rights, and US sovereignty. Also Ron Paul draws a coalition of conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, Greens, and Libertarians. Ron Paul is the Thomas Jefferson of OUR time. Ron Paul is the only Republican who can beat the Democrats in the general election. The Constitution brings people together. Google "Ron Paul."

Anyone who keeps saying he believes in the bible deserves a cross examination like Darrow conducted of William Jennings Bryan in the Scopes Trial or anyway in the "Inherit the Wind" version of it.

    • Posted By: phenrryiam @ 11/29/2007 4:46:47 PM

Such an expert! Would you rather he or anyone say they believe in the Koran? That probably would not bother you--would it? I guess no one has the right to publicly state what they believe, especially the bible without your idea of lawyers getting in the act to determin whether or not it is a just position to take.
