For one thing BRECHEISEN, if you ever studied history you would learn that even George Washington himself was quoted as saying "It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible" So I really think you should do some checking on history and see that the great leaders of our history never swayed from what they believed and I would rather vote for someone that speaks their mind, sticks to their guns and doesn't become wishy washy like some of the other candidates. No, it doesn't mean God is going to swoop down and solve our problems but faith and belief in the bible has never lead me astray and if you paid a little attention to that message you wouldn't be so ready to throw stones!

Betty is right on track. Mike Huckabee is a sincere person who has wisdom and discernment. We would do well with him as President of the United States.

Since when has Ouachita Baptist University been an obscure Bible college in Arkansas?" It is ranked the number one baccalaureate college in the south according to the 2008 issue of ???America???s Best Colleges??? by U.S. News and World Report.

It's about time to count the people who are not religious or who want this elemnet out of the political process. Who says you have to have religion to have a "moral" life. I have no religion and raise my kids that way. We lead a quality life and have "values" if you need religion to comfort yourself thats fine. You people will not can not impose your narrow view of the world on us. I'm sorry for you but you had your time in the sun w/ GB and look where we are.

Yeah-Huckabee is your guy if you like your taxes raised by 210%.
I lived in Arkansas while he was Governor and he's still for big business.
Prices on gasoline and sales taxes were enormous!
I guess if you are wealthy or making over 70,000 a year, this is your guy.

    • Posted By: mollybee @ 11/29/2007 4:11:48 PM

And, I suppose you also believe the Democrat-controlled legislature had nothing to do with raising those taxes?!

the 'war' is already here. Who could possibly think that the terrorist have not established sleeper cells, and will attack on their timetable, not ours.
It is silly to suppose that they are waiting for some 'magic day' when we leave to proceed with their globabl strategy. The use of the 'fear factor' in a campaign is passe. Put it back on the shelf with the other Rove artifacts.

People say Huckabee has not foreign policy experience? If we are going to battle this Islamic extremism that's going on today, then we need a solid Christian leader. No one is better fit than Mike Huckabee. His faith is his foreign policy, and that's good enough for me.

    • Posted By: dancingdiamonds4 @ 11/29/2007 3:26:25 PM

Here we go with religious wars...are you serious???? Everyone that fights a religious war thinks they have God on their side. Come on. Wake up. The Christians vs The Islamics. You've got to be kidding. We've got to find a way to diffuse the situation not make it worse by touting a Christianity in the face of other religions. You want WWIII and IV, V, VII, VIII, etc. ? Well then you've got the receipe for it.

6 million they fried but the Germans they too had god on thier side. God is a man

      • Posted By: ApolloKnowsAll @ 11/29/2007 3:32:34 PM

We can not have this! Unbelievable. This is exactly why Huck should not and can not win. W. made one comment one time saying "crusade" and the whole islamic world was ready to fight. A preacher, who throughout the debate quoted scripture like we were in Sunday School is not the President that we need at this time.

I am an admitted coward...I do not wnat to make the sacrifices my grandparents made when they went to war to stop the evil empires. I do not want to sacrifice everyday pleasures to help defer costs to fight fanatic religions who want to kill us. I want the goernment to provide all the things for me that i cannot afford or do not have the guts to work for. I want tio hide my head in the sand and wait for these evil people to come over to America again, then rally around a president, then quickly forget all about it when I have to make personal sacrifices. I want to wrap the blanket of the liberal press and the isolationist around me in the hopes these evil people will go away. I am not made of the same true grit my grandparents made so many sacrifices for so i can live like no othe rgeneration.I am a coward..therfore , i will vote for any of the democratic candidates or for Ron Paul.....

Being a coward and being a bully or two different things amigo.

I know this sounds shallow and I apologize in advance. But who in the world is that despot Ron Paul? I was embarrassed for him last night. Oh my gosh!!!

    • Posted By: EvansDilemma @ 11/29/2007 4:03:36 PM

We are embarrassed for you since you don't know who Ron Paul is. I would love to take the time to educate you; however, I do not believe you are being honest. He has raised more money and has many more supporters than Huckabee, Thompson, McCain or really any of the rest of the candidates so there is no way you could not know who he is. If you can't see the media puposfully puts him in the situations to considered 'whacky' and you think the whole thing is not rigged.....I again am ebarrassed for you.

Huckabee is just not qualified to be President. You can't take him serious when he wants to get rid of the IRS. Please! Sounds good, but will never ever ever ever happen!!!!

He would be a good running mate for one of the more qualified. I would love to see a Romney/ Huckabee ticket!

Did you not hear the rousing applause of the audience when Huck talked about the Fair Tax? This is an idea (yes, Ron Paul agrees with this, it is not 'his' idea alone; see Perot, Ross) that is popular and long overdue. Check out Huck's website, http://www.mikehuckabee.com , and check out the issues for economy. What an awesome effect a consumption tax would have on this country. We need someone who is going to get some new, fresh domestic legislation passed in this country.

You're brave risking your credibility on a candidate that people don't believe enough in to donate money to him. His fundrasing is paltry. I think this shows that he's a flash in the pan.

  • Posted By: skyking51 @ 11/29/2007 3:50:17 PM

What a shame that the current field of candidates don't really have plans for the really important things like guarding our 2nd amendment rights, increasing funding for the Veterans administration, backing up the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Good ole Americanism is dying fast because at their core, the Candidates are all one world government fans. America has no real leaders, only choices between lesser evils.

    • Posted By: dancingdiamonds4 @ 11/29/2007 3:58:49 PM

I agree with you completely skyking51. You hit the nail on the head. All of them will sell out America to foreign investments while Americans increasingly lose our Constitutional freedoms and rights.

Amazing,we need more than someone that has mastered prayer in the Whitehouse.Besides the fact he is using Ron Pauls format like a few others have mentioned.Far as tht goes all the other canidates have taken the same stand on abortion that Ron Paul has always had. Can't believe most folks don't see this.I wish people would research the canidates a little more before they make a choice. All the info is right here on the internet please use it.

    JOIN THE REVOLUTION OF PEACE!
Jesus was the Prince of Peace and he saved Huckabees soul. Ron Paul is the President of Peace and he is the only one who can save our country. Warmongers like Huckabee will be judged. One commenter said Ron Paul was wrong on the war issue. If you were to ask her to name one verified reason we went in to occupy Iraq, she would be left speechless. Everyone that is honest and good Amercians were deciieved about the War in Iraq. It nothing to do with 9/11, weapons of mass destruction or anything else but Oil. Researh, research. When less than 10 companies own all the major media outlets, it really becomes obvious how people become brainwashed.

I am so glad that I am a registered independent - the Rep. party is so wacky and the fact that people are actually considering another religiously minded southerner for president reaffirms that the majority of the American media gulping public are wacky too. Sure Ron Paul has some merit but he is 72, I can't see voting in a guy who will be 73 the first year of his presidency.

  • Posted By: Inde @ 11/29/2007 3:55:44 PM

The only candidate that made any sense in the debate was Ron Paul. The rest are a bunch of radicals that want a never ending war; why would anyone ever vote for such a person?

  • Posted By: bcedwards @ 11/29/2007 3:55:37 PM

When was the last time we had a presidential candidate that stood firm for what he believed, and ran his campaign on a group of ideas he was totally unashamed of?
It's time for America to have a president like Mike Huckabee who stands for change, presents a way to do it, and isn't mealy-mouthing about his stances.
