The only candidate that made any sense in the debate was Ron Paul. The rest are radicals that want a never ending war.

  • Posted By: voiceinthewilderness @ 11/29/2007 3:36:30 PM

Huckabee came across to me as a trustworthy candidate. If I'm going to vote this time around it will only be for someone who I can trust to follow through with what he believes in. Huckabee fits that descprition all the way for me. Wouldn't it be refreshing to see a candidate like Huckabeen defy the odds because his budget isn't as hefty as the others and still come out on top because of the power of the people to finally find someone they can trust in enough to go ahead and take the risk of spending their vote on him?

voiceinthewilderness..........Try checking out Ron Paul......Talk about power of the people.......the grassroot movement is growing b/c he is a man of principle. Ron Paul has never flipped on any issues, gaurenteed.

Huckabee has flipped on several....this shows a lack of integrity and not a mature walk of principle.

For those unheard millions whom want complete withdrawal from Iraq there can be only one straight up candidate. I think he did great! Just wait for his big surprise in New Hampshire.

If this Presidential candidate means what he is saying in his interviews, this is the person that We the People and the world MUST have as the next President of our United States. I personally would like to see him sign an affidavit regarding his campaign promises. Check this out: Candidates@Google: Ron Paul

I did not see the U-tube debate, but if Huckabee is for scholarships for illegals he just lost my vote. I have been working in the US for over 40 year and I can't get a dime for scholarships to put my kids into college. Why should people who broke the law get any tax dollar help. Help out citizens first, then if there is money left over (which I doubt) the help the criminals.

Huckabee' lack of military experience in a race filled with war monger candidates whom are more members of the Corporate Party than Republican just may be a blessing.

Huchabee was smooth as always; however, he can't raise money and has very little support. In fact all of the campaigns in the Republican party arn't real except Ron Paul. EXAMPLE. Rudy came to my home city and a coupel dozen people showed up at a coffee shop and he got headlines. Ron Paul showed up with only hours or a days notice and HUNDREDS if not Thousands showed up to his rallies. Of course he has raised 5 times more money than Huckabee as well as part of Huckabees answers were stolen straight from the Ron Paul platform. Ron Paul's honest, humble message of freedom is the reason he is only candidate with thousands/millions of supporters not only in America but ALL over the world. PLEASE do your homework, read, and understand the issues and what is at stake here..... RON PAUL will suprise everyone but the millions of supporters when the primary starts. Then America will see all of the lies and censorhip the media did.

This country was founded by a bunch of wealthy fat cats who no longer wished to pay taxes to King of England. They were slave owners who had extramarital affairs with their 'property', resulting in b a s t a r d children. I hardly think their religious beliefs are relevant. In any event, religion was the 'science' of their day and now that we actually have the fantastic world of science to prove/disprove various theories the only reason for religion is to divide the people.

Jimbo47@11.................You are so right. They all are starting to take Ron Paul's ideas......too bad they don't have the PRINCIPLES to match that of Pauls.

Huckabee flips too much. His sarcastic comment about sending Hillary on a rocket to mars was distasteful especially coming from a minister. Unfortunately most evangelicals thought that was just fine to speak that way.......but then again most evangelicals don't walk their talk either. This is why I am voting for Ron Paul.

Are you afraid that you won't obtain a scholarship because you are less smart? did you know they pay taxes and support olders with their contributions to Social Security , I am a Citizen too and I love diversity, I am proud to share this paradise with the people that have to come here because in their contries there is hunger or violence, what would you do in their place? And dont forget their work force contribute to your savings, just imagine if we had to work in the farms, OH MY GOD!!!!! A little lettuce would cost 10 dollars.

Who won the debate? Was there even a debate? It is with good reason the founders made the amendment regarding speech and religion the FIRST AMENDMENT. A free press is truly the only thing that has kept this country functioning over the last 225+ years. And now its gone. Its been bought by mega-corp. You should have seen this coming when CBS made its newschief answer to its entertainment division.
A CNN youtube debate? Go back and watch Nixon-Kennedy and perhaps you will understand what a debate is and why it would be useful today. For a "news" organization like CNN to pass its obligation to question these men to any old joker with a video camera is deplorable. Thats how you get questions like "What would Jesus do about the death penalty?" and answers like "He wouldnt have run for office".
These candidates find it so easy to avoid a position precisely because no one holds their answers up to the light of day. If they (the press) would perform their constitutionally mandated function in a free society perhaps peoples eyes would have been opened to a "compassionate conservative" who was a "uniter not a divider" who had a record of drunk driving, military AWOL and put more people to death during his governorship than anyone before or since.

Huckabee won hands down. Rudy (I married my 2nd cousin and visited my girlfriend while still married to wife no 2...my kids hate me and the universe revolves around NY). Mitt (I'm a millionaire who wants to get richer...I'm pro-life...no pro-choice...no pro-life...flip,flop,flip...I'm pro-gay...no anti-gay...flip,flop and I've got illegals doing my gardening and I look and talk like a used car salesman). Fred(I'm tired and I want to cuddle up to sleep with my trophy bride...25 yrs my junior and abortion should have 50 different standards across the county). John (I hate the conservative base because they've foiled my comprehensive immigration plan and I'm still re-living the VietNam war). The CHOICE is obvious Mike Huckabee...

I notice you didn't say anything about Ron Paul. I know you didn't get the chance to hear from him at this debate either. Have you looked him up? He's a man that stands behind his word. Give him a shot! I don't think that just because Huckabee is a Christian and a theology major (I am a Christian, too), he is not automatically qualified for President. A man with Christian values is needed in the office, no doubt, but that can't be the only reason he's in office.

Of the whole batch, Rudy stands above the rest. The candid way that he ended his last marraige with a press conference is the true way we need our matters handled. Like FDR once said, "Fear itself is our primary motivating force. Rudy will baste us in this fear like a well-cooked turkey dinner. The rest of the field is a bunch of turkeys. Rudy can make gravy out of almost anything.

I will not support a candidate who does not protect the santity of marriage, who supports the murder of an unborn child, or who supports gun control. I know some people don't consider abortion murder, but I do. When I was pregnant with both of my children and had an ultrasound done in the first few weeks of that baby's life...you can see that baby. It was a real human life inside of me. It was not my body...that baby had its own body. it was just temporarly inside of me. It makes me so sad to think about how the republican party has changed on moral positions. I do respect what he has accomplished in New York and his honesty on moral issues, but I cannot vote for someone because of the reasons stated above. I don't even see him as a republican because he seems very liberal. Again, I respect him, but cannot vote for him.

Illegal immigration is one of the biggest farces in American history. Just another rebuplican witch hunt to help them recapture majority in the senate and keep the presidency. Illegal immigrants make up less than half a percent of the US population, and take only the undesired jobs that NO American would ever attempt to hold. Also people from Mexico cannot even enter the country as legal residents because they are excluded from the annual diversity lottery that most of the world is allowed to enter. Illegal immigration is a total non-issue, the land was theirs to begin with and was stolen from them amid President Polks Imperialistic Manifest Destiny doctrine.

    • Posted By: ApolloKnowsAll @ 11/29/2007 3:38:22 PM

Let's see about your math...less than 1/2 of one percent of total US population??? The conservative estimate is that there are 12 MILLION people here illegally. Realistically, it is probably 20 Million or more...
      There are ~300 Million people in the US...so, 12/300 = 4% 20/300 = 6-7%.

Facts are damnable things, aren't they.... If those 4% were the only ones receiving entitlements (from my taxes) then, fine, mr. Huck, give them all scholarships and free everything...but there are millions of US citizens who need our help.

    • Posted By: backtoComonSense @ 11/29/2007 3:19:24 PM

Wow.. Im Glad the American Indians didnt know Mexicans ownd this land.!!

    • Posted By: anis @ 11/29/2007 3:18:47 PM

Let's start with the "land was theirs and it was stolen from them". Total hogwash. It was first occupied by Indians (as far as we know). It was then part of Spain. Then for a total of 28 years it was part of Mexico. After this it was part of the US. Its being part of Mexico was neither original or for a long period of time.
Now let's deal with the bogus claim that the illegals do jobs no American would do. All these jobs exist in Canada and they are not done by illegals. Before the illegals they were done by a mix of people who were legally.
Now let's go into the percentage figure. There are about 300 million Amricans, of whom about 20 million are illegals. This is more like 6% not less than one half a percent.

Cnn is pro democrat anyway . That is why they let that gay general from the Clinton party in to ask loaded questions. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that cnn said they didn't know he was with the clinton party, but if they would have googled him they would have found out exactly who and why he was there in 3 minutes.

    • Posted By: dancingdiamonds4 @ 11/29/2007 3:23:40 PM

What's your problem with gay people anyway. Are they not entitled to ask questions as well. You're a bigot.

      • Posted By: ApolloKnowsAll @ 11/29/2007 3:34:15 PM

CNN (Clinton News Network) planted a question? What a surprise!!! Has she ever been asked a question that wasn't planted?

RON PAUL is the only candidate that can save this country. The American people need to realize the severity of this nations financial status. If it crashes ( which it is well on its way), nothing else is going to matter! We need a cadidate that is aware of this and is willing to do something about it. The only candidate that is not ignorant to this is RON PAUL!

ON ANOTHER NOTE:As a Christian I am amazed at the christian following Mike Huckabee has. It was no mistake in the Bible refering to people as sheep. They blindly follow the heard. You would think that as Christians they would understand Ron Paul and his message of freedom and liberty more than anyone. After all , Christianity is about free will. God and Jesus never forced themselves on anyone. And Christians know more than anyone that you can't force your beliefs of Christianity on anyone. It doesn't work. People have to come to those things themselves or it's not real and won't stick. SO it really is quite puzzling that the Christians of this nation try to force their morals on everyone else through the government. Besides, Christianity isnt' a religion; it's a relationship and a personal one at that. Why involve government in that?

Ron Paul claims that he can cut 85% of the federal budget. One third of the budget is payments on the deficit, another third is military spending, then the rest goes to financing social programs and discretionary spending. If he touches payments on the deficit, the economy collapses; there goes saving our economy; and he is already down to having 66% to work with. If he cuts the military he loses the votes of a traditionally Republican voting block. So he is left with discretionary spending and social programs. Let???s say that he doesn???t touch Social Security and Medicare. Let???s say that what he meant to say was he would cut discretionary spending by 85%, not the federal budget. So now he has 10% of the federal budget to cut 85% to 100% of; what does he eliminate, and how does it end up being a big tax cut? Will he kill early childhood education, funding to states for roads, FEMA, maybe eliminate the Dept. of Homeland Security entirely. His tax cut ends up being maybe two cents of every dollar we earn, on an optimistic estimate. I would state that it is fiscally irresponsible to cut taxes until the national debt is paid off. Once that is gone, cut taxes by a third, distributed mostly to the middle class and working poor. I won???t elect a man who can???t do basic math, doesn???t actually understand the Constitution, and repeatedly makes uninformed, stupid comments.

Exactly how has Mike Huckabe forced himself on anyone?? I haven't experienced that at all. I think Ron Paul has the same standing on many the moral issues--marriage, abortion, etc...- as Huckabee. He is in no way forcing his beliefs on other people. When he is addressed with questions about religion, he simply answers the questions with what he believes, but he in no way forces that opinion on anyone. I am also a Christian. Although I think that word is used very flippantly. I have personally accepted Christ as my Savior and have dedicated my life to the glory of God. I believe the Bible and yes...I support Mike Huckabee. I think if our country is going to survive, we need a good Christian leader who will make wise decisions and look to the Lord for guidance. I do not think he is going to force his beliefs on the American people. Just explain it to me...when has he EVER forced his beliefs of Christianity on anyone???

      • Posted By: AmericanParty @ 11/29/2007 3:16:52 PM

He wants to implement federal laws that force his morals on people. Ron Paul leaves the decision to the states. That is a HUGE difference! If his morals aren't being put into law ( laws = force) then why can't Ron Paul be our Christian leader? He's a christian too. He speaks what he believes too. BUT he's not going to force (or put into law) his personal religious beliefs. He's also far well versed in all other issues.

        • Posted By: Jane111111 @ 11/29/2007 3:27:53 PM

Ok, so are you saying that we should leave it up to the states as to whether murder, stealing, sexual acts against a child, ect. up to the state as well? These are all moral issues. But besides that....exactly when did Mike say that he would implement federal laws to force his morals on people? Did he actually say that and if so when and where?? I've heard him many many times and I haven't heard those words. I am open though.....if he did say that I would like to know about it.

Although....if he did say it...I would still support him because I agree with him. I think there are certain crimes that should be defined by federal law and murdering an unborn child would definitely classify as one of them-- aside from religion.

Fred was the bigest looser on last night's YouTube debate. For him, time is running out. He should be attacking very hard on Rudy. Can you name any citizen or a presidential candidate who made millions simply because of 911 tragedy? Rudy is that man. Rudy has so many bones in his closet, Fred should take advantage of republican voters who thinks Sadam has something to do with 911 in New York. If he can not take a bite out of big apple Rudy, he should just hang up and stay with his trophey wife.

I am not a massive follower of politics, but I do like to watch debates here and there. I had only recently heard of Huckabee when a freind at work sent me a 'Chuck Norris and Huckabee' You-Tube link. Other than that, i knew nothing of the former Govorner. I just happend to flick on the TV last night and caught the trail end of the CNN 'You Tube' Debate.
Straight of the bat, Huckabee caught my attention. His calm manner and his well stuctured points of veiw to each question all made for a fine politician. However, what won it for me.... where his eye's!
In University i breifly touched on physiology and was taught that the eye can never lie! Huckabee's never faulted for one moment, plus they had a warmth to them that i trusted. secondly, i really appreciated that Huckabee was able to debate each question with having to slander any other opponent. I feel that when people feel the need to slander other's it show's a weak lack of imagination and knowledge of fact and to me shows a character that can not be trusted.
I don't feel that Huckabee's lack of foreign poliicy or military experience is a fault. I in fact feel that maybe it is time for the White House to have some fresh blood that does not include these backgrounds. I for one am sick of the gun-ho approach that some former and current presidents have maintained is the important policies.
A fresh outlook with fresh ideas carried out by a man who can be trusted and has a calm, firm but fair approach, is a man i would vote for and a man i would go to battle for.
