We all know how much lawers have to say on ecology and economics and world trade. Be it in any institution. I myself can see the poor quality of their opinions.
Without the cooperation of China, climate talks in Bali this week won't do much good--and may even harm the fight against global warming.

How cruel to say to the poorest nations of the world that thay can not have even a small percentage of what Americans have. This attitude is certainly hypocritical, since in the next minute these same people turn to China to produce a majority of their things. China's growth comes from meeting American demand. How conscience-less of David Victor to lay the blame on the largest country in the world, when USA's population of about 6% of the world emits 25% or more of the worlds greenhouse gases. If you want China to reduce greenhouse gases, then buy their green products.
We have demonstrated on 20,000 acres that it is possible to regenerate rainforest even after 400 years of slash and burn by cattle farmers.
On December 8 we will demonstrate this in Bali as part of our message to offer new insights on how we can avert climate change, while providing drinking water, jobs, health care and housing where none was considered possible. In 2008 we will expand to 120,000 acres and funding is available to add another 250,000 acres.
On December 8 at 15.30 hrs we present the Las Gaviotas example alongside other projects at the International Convention Center in Bali. I hope you can make some space for this positive news that for many almost sounds like a dream.
If we achieve this on the 15 million acres in Colombia available, and the 200 million acres idle elsewhere in Latin America and Africa we can offset China AND generate development.
