Comment: Wolfowitz has failed miserably in his last 2 jobs. At the State Department he was one of the architects and cheerleaders pushing the invasion of Iraq. FAILURE! He then gets booted from the World Bank for taking care of the salary and promotion of his girlfriend. FAILURE! How do they get away with having Condi Rice give him the chairmanship of the International Security Advisory Board? He gets right into the thick of it again, even though he has been a miserable FAILURE at his last two insider jobs. What the F---? I suspect it is only because he knows too much.

Comment: Experience vs. Judgment: Where have we heard that refrain recently. Wolfowitz has experience, but no judgement. I think I'll go with judgment.

Comment: Best of luck to all of us on this Wolfowitz thing (it takes an act of congress to stop W from giving his cronies jobs) and maybe you should ALL vote this time instead of fondling off to reruns of the Victoria's Secret runway show... good though that may be... the un-intelligent of this country need to be stopped from electing yet another bible-thumping cowboy moron hanging from strings.

Why are we allowing this kind of garbage from these scum? I have to agree with ThirstyJon (obviously a NC) ... yes, Wolfowitz must be brilliant, and he does a brilliant job... he's got all you poor uneducated corn-fed country-raised conservatives thinking that he's on your team, and he's definitely doing well holding on to the rectum of this country like peanutbutter toothpaste. Hell, the republicans controlling the war - or the white house - have got ALL the rest of the Conservative right thinking "our team is winning!"... meanwhile, they'd sell your hides to make an extra buck as well. Poor deluded fools. Bush doesn't care about anything or anyone outside of his circle of speed dial numbers.. and keeping you under his spin job for a little bit longer to continue the windfall.

I can't complain, I made a killing investing in military suppliers, food and housing contractors, companies that specialize in war... WAAAAY back in 2000 when the election was rigged by Bush and family. You can make a fortune swinging your stock portfolio from consumer goods during Democrap years to war machine investments during Republitard administrations. Oh well, the ADHD Americans have suddenly remembered that their bank accounts were plush the last time a Dem was in office, so they're gonna swing the pendulum the other way this coming year. Poor chance in hell of a republican (aside from {a very GOOD man} Ron Paul and his snowball) winning the 08 Oval Office.

Are you that unbelievably blind? You sound exactly like you accuse Republicans of being. You are either brainwashed or have been dropped on your head at least 100 times. Go read several unbiased books on US history, US politics, and the US government. And then reread your comments to see how unbelievable you sound.

Fine, Saddam was a bad bad man, but so was Castro, and so is Kim Jong il. Those countries didn't spit in W's daddy's eye and they don't control vast oil reserves and we can't justify a prolonged war with them with which to fund the military industrial complex (Halliburton anyone?)... face it, the scam that got Bushie into office and the totalitarian regime that has been blanketed over the populace since then has all been a GET RICH SCHEME for a few dozen key businessmen and political players in this country. Your kids are dying for their portfolios.

And don't get me started on the immorality of the regime... the Republicans have no moral ground to spit on - not with senators having solicited gay sex in airport bathrooms and yet others molesting their pages. My god, is there nobody who can hold all of these concepts in their mind at the same time and provide some kind of comparison between good presidents like Clinton and Truman and evil turds like Bush and Nixon? Hello? Anyone in the US read ANY history at all?

    • Posted By: t9900 @ 12/07/2007 15:52:07

Comment: Actually compared to you even Bush as more morals. The only thing that comes from people like you is hate and hypocrisy.

BTW, Nixon was a great President. He just caught. To say no 'good' liberal president ever cheated means you are the uneducated American non-Americans always talk about.

Where oh where have the good people gone? Why has nobody supported the calls for impeachment of ALL the scum in the white house? How can a nation with so many intelligent people allow these glaringly bad things to happen? Why does feedcap America think that the republican party represents them? Because they support farm bills that pay farmers to NOT grow crops or because they hate killing unborn babies (statistically from poorer backgrounds - who suspiciously turn to military service as a means of education when they reach the ripe age of 18). I wasn't aware of any military weapons manufacturers in those corn fields.

It is time to get the political elitists out of the White House... all of these millionaires and born/bred politicians are part of the problem... it is in their best financial interests to keep the American populace poor and uneducated. Implement 1 or 2 term limits for Congressmen so they can vote their conscience. Reduce all elected office salaries to reflect the average salary of the people by whom they were elected. Require candidates to be publicly funded so that they don't have to cup corporate balls when they are elected. Require clarity in financial reporting from all local, state and federal governments. There is far too much back-scratching and millionaires being made in the DC area. If our founding fathers were alive, they would start another revolution to fight against the politicians who had the gonads to spend ONE TRILLION DOLLARS on a war that should never have happened instead of developing clean renewable energy (solar anyone) or writing everyone ON PLANET EARTH A CHECK FOR $149 ( I could have bought a Wii).

I think it's an understatement to say that Hitler and Goebbels were evil men, but the planning and execution of Kristallnacht and the rise of the SS were pure moments of sheer PR brilliance. How exciting it must be to create a false enemy, stir up your constituents, give them an enemy to kill (real or imagined) and then drag your country into a bloody War which richens the coffers of the elite Aristocracy. Oh wait...... was I talking about Bush... or Hitler... or Rumsfeld... or Caesar... or Cheney... or Attila... or Wolfowitz... it's all blending into one concept. Oh well, back to the rant.

  • Posted By: Noob-herder @ 12/05/2007 9:50:30 PM

Comment: The names Wolfowitz, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Hitler, Goebbels, Stalin, Napoleon, Caesar, Botha, Mussolini and Castro have been enshrined in a very long list of very poor mannered, bad people. By the same stroke of a pen, many of their plans (and please don't get me wrong in my intention) are used as examples of brilliant maneuvers (both politically and militarily). While I will never accuse Bush of being a genius, it is quite clear that his ability to survive, control, and pervert the system around him places him high in the cabal of evil masterminds.

If Paul Wolfowitz get appointed to the International Security Advisory Board, will we need to provide a job for his concubine as well? How ironic that an Administration who got elected because they wanted to protect marriage from homosexuals and who attempted to impeach Bill Clinton for marital infidelity is now providing a sinecure for a man who openly flaunts the conventions of marriage. Long live Republican morality!!!

What are Wolfowitz???s credentials as a security advisor. After 9-11, instead of going after bin-Laden, we invaded Iraq. That???s about as stupid as invading Brazil after Pearl Harbor. While I???m glad there???s a lull in the bloodshed in Iraq, violence still continues. The horrible toll of humans killed and maimed, both Iraqi and American, for a barrel of oil proves that the barbaric rituals of human sacrifice are alive and well. While we???re bogged down in Iraq, Al Qaeda is regrouping in Afghanistan. According to a recent article in Spiegel Magazine, Al Qaeda is also establishing a bridgehead in Bosnia. If you were to read recent reports in the Los Angeles Times, Al Qaeda is attracting followers from countries like Tunisia primarily because of our occupation of Iraq. The longer we occupy Iraq, the more attractive Al Qaeda becomes. I might add that as long as the global economy dictates that young men in Islamic countries remain condemned to a lifetime of poverty and/or unemployment, Al Qaeda will continue to have a breeding ground for recruits. Does Wolfowitz even understand this? In the mean time, 6 years after 9-11, we still haven???t captured bin-Laden, and at the bidding of the American Enterprise Institute, we???re plotting a war with Iran.

I remember in 2003 when Newsweek itself was lionizing Wolfowitz who envisioned America as the new Roman Empire. What neither Wolfowitz nor Newsweek understands is that the Roman Empire fell, actually partially for environmental reasons. Romans used lead pipes for plumbing and many skeletons from the Roman era had large concentrations of lead in their bones. Isn???t that a hint about global warming? And do we feel safer now?

Hard to find any sense of pride now when I travel and state I am American.

Comment: Contacting our ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES is a waste of time and energy! They no longer depend on their 'CONSTITUENTS' to be reelected, but on the power of money provided by their corporate masters.

I believe that the 'core' of the American people still have a strong sense of honor (when it is the other persons honor that is called into question) and can be motivated to demand action if approached from this angle!

Our elected representatives have taken an oath to protect and uphold the constitution. If they have reason to believe that impeachable acts have taken place, they have a duty and obligation to investigate these charges. This has nothing to do with any political party or personality; it is a requirement of their office! To abandon this obligation is to condone treason or other high crimes etc. and therefore become a party to crimes. Why should any one of us vote for anyone that is too crooked or to cowardly to honor their 'oath of office'?

Demanding that our ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES uphold the Constitution and follow the laws of this country is good citizenship. To do less is dishonoring those that have fought for and died to establish a country that we have inherited. We have given up so many of our 'rights' that we are now living in a country that has instituted 'martial law', the yellow media and our government doesn???t have the backbone to admit this!!

Blindly following and backing a government that has lied and deceived it's people and allies, is not being a 'patriot'. Questioning and demanding truth and an adherence to this countries laws, and demanding that it 'honor' its treaties with the rest of this world is!!
As Henry Kissinger said, (and I believe history will show that he was a war criminal.) "The only thing worse than being an enemy of the United States is to be its friend"!!

We hung 'war criminals' just after WW11 for committing the same crimes that this administration has committed, IN OUR NAMES, and now claims to be legal.

As it stands they require staff who like themselves have a lot to loose if the true extent of their illegal actions are discovered. I for one will make sure their violations do not go unnoticed by the proper authority. I think the type of torture these pukes will eventually meet in the prison shower room will perhaps make waterboarding an appealing alternative.

Comment: Since Wolfowitz is undoubtedly a hawk on Iran, this probably bodes ill for those in the Administration who are trying to stave off an attack. And bad news for the rest of us.

If we bomb Iran, it's been reported that they will retailate in numerous ways. Regardless of the consequences, there are still those in the Administration who believe that once invaded, the Iranians will overthrow their regime and greet us with flowers, just like they did in iraq. Oh, wait! It didn't quite turn out that way!

Comment: Wait a minute, Newsweek hired Karl Rove??? That would be funny if it were not such an abandonment of journalisitic principles. Rove is going around sayingCongress pushed Bush into Iraq. Even when contradicted by Fleischer, he sticks with the ridiculous story. Isn't thepoint of a newsmagazine to be ,oh I don't know, maybe a CREDIBLE sourceof information??
Maybe the MSM has a case of Stockhome syndrome-- they have begun toidentify with their kidnappers...

Comment: Isn't there any way to block appointment with such a level of access? Wolfowitz is dangerous. Where is advise and consent on national security from the Senate?

Comment: Enough of this rediculous intellectual patty-cake already! Just get on with the process of IMPEACHMENT of GEORGE W. BUSH and DICK CHENEY so that we can get on with the business of cleaning up the mess that their total insanity has visited upon the whole world!

  • Posted By: oldgringo @ 12/02/2007 2:16:32 PM

Comment: QUIT WITH THESE KID GAMES OF INTELLECTUAL patty cake and get on with the proceedings to IMPEACH GEORGE W. BUSH and DICK CHENEY, thereby clearing the way to put an end to the idiocy that the FEDERA;L GOVERNMENT of the USA has become!

Comment: Hey. Dummy. While it takes 50% plus one to impeach in the House, it takes a 2/3 majority in the Senate to remove Bush or Dick from office, and that will NEVER happen. You will never get a single Republican to vote in favor of removing them from office, therefore it CAN'T be done. THINK. THINK. LEARN.

Comment: While I agree that conviction of Bush and Cheney would be virtually impossible if the House impeached either of them, I have come to the conclusion that they should be impeached irrespemctive of the havoc it would cause. Impeachment would send a signal to the rest of the world that a very significant portion of the United States does not countenance the evil that they do; and if Bush is under impeachment, Secretary Gates and the military might be more apt to require a Congressional resolution for war before they are willing to engage in an attack on Iran. After all, they are subject to penalty for knowingly following illegal orders.

Comment: Since this is an appointed position, let Rice "attempt" to take her stance
that she is not reponsible for the misleading and poor decisons made by the one
of the many leaders of the "bad intel" brigade when she is going to AGAIN rely on Wolfowitz
intel. Perhaps this is the next step in the Bush plan to take credit for going Green by
    "recycling" garbage.
