So you accept this as the staus quo and relent to the prejudice? This is defeatism. If everyone thought as you did then the civil rights movement wouldn't have happened and the advances of the past 40 years would not have happened either. Do you not realize that by accepting all of this as inevitable and withstanding that you are giving those same racists the power they need to continue?

I concede that much of what you say is true, which is why it is so important to continue the fight for equality for all people. Would you want a child from an impoverished neighborhood to read what you are saying and believe it is his destiny? That no matter what he does white people will make it so he can not be the man the wants to be and should be? I am not telling you that what you say is untrue; I am saying that with your attitude it NEVER WILL be any better than it is now. If you believe that it CAN'T EVER change, then I am truly sorry for you and anyone you come to influence. You have defeated yourself better than any white person could do it for you.

Sean Taylor's behavior had nothing to do with him being a thug. He was young and immature. Evidently, he was trying to better himself and grow up for the sake of his daughter and family. It was just fuel for some of the media to justify his murder. He was not an angel but he was certainly not the worst. Truth is, if the spotlight was on us, how would we appear to the media. Sean Taylor was a young man that made mistakes but what human doesn't.
