Comment: Holy Huckabee??? What's holy about a Baptist preacher who accepts gifts and bribery and changes his voting record accordingly? I would call that political and unethical. The last thing we need in the White House is another smug, self-righteous, corrupt politician who is convinced he has "God's will" behind him...

And Karl Rove??? So, are you hiring Al Franken to balance him out, or are you simply calling this a conservative weekly news magazine and calling it a day? How embarrassing.....Karl has made you all lok like idiots. I'm canceling my subscription. What a waste.

Comment: You hired Karl Rove???? What were you thinking?? First "Holy Huckabee" who is anything but Holy....$200,000 in "gifts and monies" while in office...all while denying that they influenced his very oil-based votiing record. How about that R.J. Reynolds? Hmmm....the last thing we need in the White House is another smug, arrogant, corrupt politician with a narrow mind and "the will of God" behind him. I hardly call that Holy. So, are you hiring the Reverend Pat Robertson next? Just curious...you seem to have quite a religious bent. And how will you balance ol' Karl...are you hiring Al Franken? God help us all...

Comment: HOW COULD YOU HIRE KARL ROVE? I got my renewal letter two days after recieving the issue.............needless to say- If you are going to hire Liars, Slanderers and Outright Scum to editoralize in your magazine I'm taking my reading elsewhere......did you REALLY think about this before hiring this guy? Is the editor a fan of "political suicide???? I can't believe the guts (and lack of common sense) you have shown your readership- what the hell are you now- the NEW American Spectator???

Comment: Cancelled my long-term subscription awhile back, finally had it with George Will's lies, obfuscations, and generally getting it wrong. When I heard Newsweek was hiring Markos of Daily Kos as a columnist, I assumed that was to "balance" Will, and I'd considered resubcribing. Until I was flabbergasted and appalled by your choice of Karl Rove as columnist. Kos is, at least, a journalist , trained as a journalist -- Karl Rove is infamous for his lies, smears and mendacity/borderline treason. In what screwed up world are lies and smears a "balance" to sourced journalism and opinion based on reality? Rove has made fools of you all -- whoever editorially came up with this insane idea, whoever agreed to it. In the dear, dead days when I attended journalism school, Rove would have been roasted, daily by true journalists. Whatever name Newsweek has earned now, isn't suitable for a general audience. Oh, and forget that subscription -- I'm no fool, and can get actual, reality-based news and opinions at dailykos.com, and other news sources that deal in facts, rather than dirty spin.

Comment: Shocked at the thought that a legitimite magazine would hire the likes of Karl Rove I pondered for a few seconds as to wether I would renew my subscription- the next day low and behold a request for my renewal came............It didn't take long to decide to take my readership elsewhere..........Rove is the worst kind of political mudracker and liar I've seen since the Nixon administration..........Your paying him ANYTHING only gives your magazine a nod of validation to this Liar and Scandalous excuse for a human being.

Comment: I just sent the following comment to the Subscription Department as I cancelled my subscription:I have subscribed to Newsweek for over 40 years, and have enjoyed it immensely. However, hiring Karl Rove, the "Architect" of an immoral, arrogant, incompetent, and divisive Administration which chooses to deny human rights at home and conduct war-mongering abroad is something I will not condone.
Since we just renewed on 3 December for another year, please refund my full subscription price. Thank you

Comment: Hiring Karl Rove, a pathological liar, and handing him a forum to promulgate his lies (and also probably a hearty salary) is a disgrace, an insult to subscribers to the Magazine; the editor's flimsy, farcical excuses for doing so are a further insult. He should just admit that he is a right winger and be open with people. We've canceled all our family subscriptions and will never read Newsweek again.

Comment: I am very interest in the Kindle. Our organization provides reading and math services to inner city schools in Milwaukee. If kids had their textbooks on a Kindle, there would be no excuse for doing work. On a lighter note, I am looking for Kevin Hand's excellent graphic "Words and Meaning." I would like that graphic to use in professional development so that our teachers and the teachers of children we serve could better understand the process. Graphic is on p. 60. November 26th issue. Please advise.

Comment: An Alternative to Iowa's Primary... first of all it is a caucus. I grew up in Iowa and lived in California for ten years. YOU feel disinfrancised???? The candidates pay attention to CA because as you state "we are the most populous state". Guess what.... I love CA, but candidates need to pay attention to the small states too... Iowa is about as neutral and small as it gets. Let them have their moment.. If you are "sick" of "that"state deciding who "your" candidtates should be... news flash... if they are losing in Iowa, maybe you should find a new candidtate. Not to mention that, Iowa is # 1 in eduacation... let them decide. Deal with it Anne Kirby...

Comment: I am so disgusted that Newsweek could give space to Karl Rove, the most dishonest, Machiavellian, destructive, hateful force in politics in my lifetime, to spew his venom, I am canceling my subscription. Otherwise, I'll have to take a shower every time I touch a Newsweek. If I want garbage unfettered by the truth, I'll buy the New York Post or some other Murdoch rag.

Comment: I cancelled my longterm subscription to Newsweek awhile back, finally had enough of the ongoing obfuscations, lies and generally getting it wrong, of George Will, finally. When I read that Newsweek was hiring Markos of Daily Kos, I assumed he was being hired as balance to Will and considered resubscribing. But I was shocked and appalled to read that Karl Rove, lier-in-chief, was the new columnist to balance Kos! So lies, treason and mendacity balance the truth? In which screwed-up universe would that be? Rove has made fools of you all, and journalism has been defiled yet again. Congratulations, Newsweek -- oh, and you can forget that resubscription, I'm no fool.
