Why are we not impeaching Bush and his bloodthirsty gang. They have lied to us, caused the death of some 4000 of our troops and thousand more Iraqis, squandered our money and more. All to enrich a few of his cronies and please the Israelis. How much longer do we have to mortgage the future of our country for Israel; what are we getting out of it???? Biggest danger to mankind is Bush!!!!!

You are an idiot in the truest sense of the word. Get back in your old Subaru with your whirled-peas bumper stickers and smoke another joint. Maybe your hallucinations will give you the vision to guide this country in this complicated and troubled age. By the way, why don't you clean up your yard, your neighbors don't like living next to your filth. Honestly, do some soul searching and your angry opinions may change.

Wow, I'm disappointed even for Newsweek. Whether Bush is right for announcing the new NIE report or not, it is clear that Michael Hirsch was ready to slam Bush either way. Lets, be honest here, the fact of the matter is that Bush could announce tommorrow that he had a cure for cancer, and an amature, biased, mouthpiece like Hirsh and his ilk would still find a reason to take shots at Bush. I would expect this type of article from the New Republic, but it's sad and disappointing to see this biased hack what used to be a legitimate forum for his diatribe.

I just happened across this article and it reminded me of why I don't read Newsweek. Too one sided. President Bush erred on the side of safety for the US and the world on the Irag issue, and I am so glad he did. I would much rather err on the side of our safety than to err on the side of us no longer being here. We are so much safer now than we were and I know that President Bush will make all the right decisions concerning Iran. He is a good and Godly man, and I am so glad that he has been our President. He doesn't care what you or anyone else thinks of him and he doesn't care about his legacy as President, he is going to do what he thinks is the right thing to do for our nation. That takes a lot of courage and prayer. God Bless President Bush and God Bless America.

Come on world wake up if ya want peace someone needs to step up to the plate and take control.Someone needs to be concerned about other countries developing the Bomb. If someone does not keep a watchful eye on who develops what and for what purpose by the time you realize what and why it was developed it could be to late. I hate to think of the outcome if the wrong people develope a bomb and decide to use it. So if everyone is so skeptical of US Policy why then doesnt someone else Step up to the Plate and show some concern and make an effort to Control efforts by others to develop weapons that could wipe out half the world as we know it today?

I think it is not wise at this sage to believe President Bush whose WMD has gone into hiding in Iraq.! There was a war and now there is even bigger war in Iraq, ans the reason is that Americans went looking for WMD in Iraq!
The Credibility of Americans is gone, they believe what their media says, not knowing what actually is happening in the world..simple ignorance.
My comment is Forget war with any country and that includes with Iran.

I would respond to leodelaney and marshal47 with the following; If we were to impeach the President and Vice-president and win, who would be the new President? Nancy Pelosi! Does anyone really want that? Second, the NIE (read it marshal47) says that even if they wanted to create a bomb, which the experts say is, at this time, unlikely,it couldn't happen before 2013. That gives us plenty of time to determine Iran's intentions and take diplomatic steps to deter nuclear (or should I say Nuclar) proliferation by this country. I think that criminal charges are appropriate for Bush and Cheney, but only after they are out of office for the reason stated at the beginning of this comment. Semper Fi, Robbie.

Hirsch, you have one helluva inflated ego if you think you have been given Iran's unpolished nuclear policy by "a senior Iranian official". Are you that naive? And that reference to the trustworthiness between JFK and France... you're kidding, right? Do you have an intel background? Do you have any idea what it takes to get inteligent, credible information... yeah, I know, you're a reporter, of course you do. Picture me laughing here. Look, the President has to be able to trust that people are doing there job and doing it right. He can't do it all. Sometimes that doesn't always happen and he'll take responsibility for that. That also means that as a boss, he'll stand by his people and not immediately go off half cocked changing policy because intel may be different than originally thought. How do you know Iran doesn't have a secret nuclear program... that they didn't tell YOU about?

Our President has lied repeatedly. How funny was the Iranian Presiden't visit to the US and Columbia University in retrospect. Such hypocrisy.

    • Posted By: Autoboxx @ 12/06/2007 1:30:14 AM

Our president has lied how and when?? Did he ever say the US doesnt have homosexuality??

  • Posted By: wjwend @ 12/06/2007 1:27:49 AM

Didn't we have an intelligent that said Iraqi has wmd and everybody believed it. Now a new report comes out and says Iran isn't building the bomb! Once again the faithful will believe this report and be lulled to sleep like they were at Pearl harbor. Don't think for a minute iran is backing off!

  • Posted By: Love to live @ 12/06/2007 1:27:47 AM

God forbid if Iran does build the bomb. If and When they build it no one knows but they will build it and if they ever us it only God will be around to witness the results. Get real someone needs to Keep these Bomb Crazy people in check or we will have another War that will "End the World as we know it today".

Once again, we must realize..Bush has pretty much done as he has wanted during his reign...if he really wants war...it's Iraq all over again..with more Drastic result's in my opinion..

ahmed from pakistan want to say here that USA should to think about the world's peace. USA what did in Afghanistan and Iraq every one knows. The policies of America taking a world to World War III not bomb of Iran. Before 9/11 I felt myself so safe but after the war agiainst terrorism started by America it is reality that I dont feel my self safe. It is because of the policies of US President. The whole world's peace in danger. Bush Please think about it we want to live in peace.

Saying "FORGET WAR WITH IRAN" is like saying forget all of our soldiers that have died in this war. The President reacted upon getting false information from outside forces. He lead us to war, and in the beginning, everyone was behind him. Now that we all see it was a costly mistake on our behalf, we want to back down? Give me a F*cking break. We once stood behind our president with honor and loyalty, as we watched our country fall on 9-11. Now we want to stand in front and say that the Bush Administration are the real ones who are to blame? Yea, they have probably made some HUGE mistakes, but elections are returning in 2008, maybe then we will have an administration who makes ALL the right choices, and does NOTHING wrong.

    • Posted By: Carolyn215 @ 12/06/2007 1:22:29 AM

What soldiers have died in Iran? We are not at war with Iran. We attacked Iraq without just cause, on false information that contradicted government illelligence sources. Why? To gain control of the oil fields. No other reason.

The terror suspects involved in the 9/11 attacks were all Saudi, not Iraqi. So why didn't we attack Saudi Arabia? Because they are affiliated with the Bush Oil Cartel. Now they want the Iranian oil fields as well., and are trying to use the same scare tactics to dupe the American people into sending their sons to die for that as well. It won't work this time.

Heeey, it is "FORGET WAR WITH IRAN" not IRAQ. Thank God we are not at war with IRAN, so your comment is out of context.

  • Posted By: Autoboxx @ 12/06/2007 1:20:45 AM

OOkay.. So, we are going to trust a dictator who says there are no homosexuals in his country. I guess so since he hangs them in the city square. Just because we have a report that says they tried in 2003 and stopped, does that mean he isnt doing it now?? Why do you think he build 3,000 centrifuges?!?!?! For the heck of it?? Get real NEWSWEEK..

WHICH CANDIDATE CAN HANDLE THIS SITUATION BEST AND WHY? Provide PROOF; WHO HAS THE BEST SOLUTION??
WITHOUT RUSSIA IRAN WOULD HAVE NOTHING. Why can't the pubic see that the real threat are the break-away republics of Russia(most notably the 5 Muslim States in Central Asia and the Ukraine)crime families in Eastern Europe and the technological advancement of China. Iran, Pakistan, India, all countries in Africa have no means of deploying a successful nuclear attack. Let's take care of the nuclear, chemical and biological weapons that already exist not on those that do NOT EXIST. Once a new regime takes form they have to seperate church and state in a moderate fashion. We have to do this right, we cannot afford to go into Iran blind we have to do it intelligently through conduits of success. The fact are THAT RUSSIA AND CHINA ARE THE KEYS TO KEEPING THAT SIDE OF THE WORLD TAME. AfriCA is an enigma in that it there is no solution to their problems; I guess the global community is just hoping more die than live in Africa; and that the 1st world can continue their research projects. We really need to pick the best candidate. Be honest.

Based on the teachings that I have derived from my holy book (The King James version-Bible) there has always been killings and wars and always will be until the day of Judgement. The wrath of God was and has been placed on certain nations and tribes and will be there until the day of Judgement. Peace is a something to pray for but there are no assurances unless it is God's will. Faith is what we all are accounted
for. Let all be aware that war is ugly but necessary in some cases. The righteous are the warriors of God
and that may include armies. There has been people against war since day one and none of them has found a solution. We all can wave our flags and carry our placards for or against war but there will always be rogue nations and leaders which are advocates of satan. If we had no military to defend other nations as well as our own, we all would most likely be submitting to the wills of the devils advotcates.

This Presidency has been plagued by bad0 decision making. They are corrupt and deciteful and I would not trust Bush or Cheney as far as I can throw them. As a war veteran and former 11 Bravo with the 101st Airborne, I can say I am a REAL PATRIOT and love my country. Bush and Cheney are not patriots yet they have weasled their way into office twice, and led the free world into a dark and dangerous place. Our enemies have multiplied and grow stronger due to bad US leadership. We have to police ourselves and address our problems before telling other people how they should live. I believe most of the world desires peace, and lives with the hope that our children will inherit something better than past generations. We should be leaders of the free world, not bullies, bullies who force one way or another, whether by force or economic measures to conform with our ideals. The world has respected America in the past, we are the light, but that light has gotten dimmer and less bright. We are in need of real leadership, not men who have personal agendas, and in my mind are cowards. America deserves better, we should lead the world by example, not by force. force does not work, never has never will.
