Very interesting book to read is "Showdown with Nuclear Iran by Michael Evans with Jerome Corsi. There are other books available on this very serious issue and I encourage everyone to take the time to read some of them. Pres. Ahmadinejad is driven by his religious belief that an apocalyptic event needs to happen in order for the Twelfth Imam, the Mahdi, to return so the conditions are right for Islamic caliphate all over the world (the nation of Islam). He has one agenda: to annihilate the infidels (Israelis and Americans). Nuclear Iran is not just a major concern for Israel and the US but should be a concern for everyone in the entire world. President Bush may not be loved by all, but he is in fact...still our President. Who's to say our intelligence is all that intelligent? They can only make decisions based on the information that is uncovered by them. Who's to say that Iran is being totally honest? They have been deceptive and uncooperative in the past and with every deception they manage to buy more time to develop their nuclear program by keeping actions against them at bay. Read the book or any other book on this topic. Christians are waiting for the second coming of Christ; Jews are waiting for the Messiah and the Shi'ites are waiting for the second coming of the Mahdi. The difference is that the Shi'ites believe they are on a mission from God to bring about the apocolyptic events they believe will usher the return of the Mahdi. For them..blowing themselves up is a sacrifice that will get them into heaven. They don't care who they kill in the process. If you want to blame someone, blame Pres. Jimmy Carter. He fully supported the return of the Ayatollah Khomeini from exile in 1979 which ultimately set back in motion the Khomeini's work to bring about Islamic theocracy....to the whole world. Read the book. This whole issue has everything to do with religion and we all need to be concerned and open our eyes.

And before someone says it, I'm no Bush supporter In fact I think Bush is a not so good President. We've had several worse Presidents, like several of the ones leading up to the Civil War. Jimmy Carter wasn't that good. Grant I think wasn't that good. (FDR if it weren't for WWII) Once there is another President, people will not have the same amount of hatred torwards Bush (hopfully) as they do now.

what can i say, i think all Americans must think about it. War is not a solution, If war started with any other country like Afghanistan, Iraq and then iran would not be a wise strategy, This would be a great economical and social loss for America and as well American. I myself think war is not a solution only peacefull meetings may resolve this issue.

Agendas and political expediency that stubbornly fail to see the sufferings inflicted on the innocent, should not influence political leaders. A life lost because we failed to respect reason cannot be restored whatever expiation we may resort to later. So, let us not allow our pride lead us to damnation of self and others; after all however mighty we may feel we are, we cannot fight the moment of death of ourselves; it is going to be a personal experience and the moment we are dead we lose all our identities and become the deceased. First, we had an agenda on Iraq and holding aloft the issue of WMD we throttled the voices of reason and see the consequences and the amount of innocent blood that has stained our hands and our nation. So, please don't rush in like fools where angels fear to tread. Let's take history as our teacher and learn the lessons of the past.

I'm done. I'm going to my bed to sleep well knowing there is no wimpy democrat at the presidency. All you liberals just hate Bush the same way you hated Reagan. And now you have to admit how great he was. I don't think Bush is as good as Reagan, but I glad he is the president at this moment. p.s Lodestone, you should change your name to Loadstone. You are not funny, nor interesting. You are just stupid. Go get a life. Good night America. God bless you and G.W. Bush!

The only thing we should logically conlude from this is that his(Bush) policy has worked....when you do not back down from a bully(Iran) they have no alternative but to fight or back down.....Iran has rethought its Nuke policy at this time because of Bush....President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad thinks he just has to get through this election and he can continue back to the NUKE business. I find funny how we are so quick to judge Bush anything good or bad...but when it is a leader of another country who is extreme in all policies they are given passes.(This is the same man who believes the Holocaust did not happen...also has stated freely that he wants to kill all JEWS) What is wrong with America is not our policies but with those who support our enimies.

Both sides finally get what they want. Non combatant action that puts pressure on international support to better and more readily monitor nuclear advancement and mud on Uncle Sam's face. Awesome!

You are talking about the reputation of USA. This reputation is hurt since long time ago. The US intelligence organizations besides American politicians are well aware of this fact.
I have many contacts with nations all around the world. All are talking about the extreme one sided behavior of US politicians. The US has invaded two Islamic countries. By now more than a million innocents are killed in Iraq, while President Bush is talking about human rights and democracy .US government is beside the boarder of Iran, threatening that country every day. If Iran was near the US boarders doing the same, then what would have been the reaction of Americans? President Bush is accusing Iran for having enthusiasm towards atomic bombs, while many countries including Israel have it and no body is accusing them. There are varieties of negative facts against US policies. They have closed their eyes, repeating similar nonsense issues, not paying attention to this fact that others have intelligence too. Not all the terrorists are bad in nature. They can be rectified if the situation changes. Is terrorism diminished? Is the security of USA is solidified? I for sure say NO!! .Who is the main cause of
Terrorism? Have you really asked yourself this question?
The main story is the Energy sources in Middle East. The truth is that the owners of military industries should have some contracts for their production lines. And above all we are facing with some people having no respect for others rights .The enjoy their life on the bodies of others. They are the International criminals. You regularly see many of them on the broadcasting means

This man, Bush, has been working with faulty information for many years, and it has finally caught up with him. Apparently, he never understood why his father stopped short of Bagdad. But of course his father had someone on whom he could depend on, Colin Powell. I have a feeling Bush was trying to finish something he thought his father should have finished, but unfortunately , George W. has no concept of how the Middle East works. Mr. Bush never learn what the higher level thinking skills were. He has never been able to practice them. Mr. Bush has dug a hole so deep that who ever follows him be it Republican or Democrat will not be able to get us out of it for many years to come.

War with Iran is right around the corner. Iran "says" they have stopped it's weapon program way back when. In the meantime, they have been denouncing the holocaust, suppling weapons and soldiers to Al-Queda, and hood-winking the liberal media into believeing that Iran is just "good ol country". To leave Iran to it's current course, is to set up the USA and Israel to nuclear bombs from these demented leaders !

t9900; thank you for your comments I am always trying to move the argument to solutions. I would appreciate your insight or anyone else who would like to discuss solutions.
There is only one solution to this problem, the removal of the Iranian regime. However, we can not "do it" for them, the Iranians themselves have to" do it", with the world's support. The people under 35 want change in Iran, they want to live like the "Beach Boys", and have big dreams like Donald Trump, they want their universities to be free where ideas can be argued without fear of repression. Let's learn from Iraq. We began sanctions against Hussein and then began with weapon inspectors. These actions are not effective. They just make the general population weaker(those who want change) and make the dictator stronger. If the Iranian people do not want change we cannot force them, it will just make things worse. The regime has to be removed as quickly as possible from within. There is no other alternative. Targeted airstrikes will just empower the dictatorship and turn pro American sentiment in the country. We need to let the Iranian people know that we will help them target the regime. As long as the regime is in place, it is always going to be a threat to the region and the rest of the world. Nukes or no nukes. Now is time to move, while America still has a strong military presence in Iraq.

Allant9, I agree with you that Bush must go. I proudly voted against him in 2004, and I would have voted against him in 2000 had I been of legal age. But to attack all Americans? Why? How about just the 20 or 30 percent (however low Bush's approval ratings are currently) of the population who still support the clown? Also, one more piece of advice, use correct grammar and spelling when posting on a public forum. A poor grasp on the English language makes your "holier than thou" criticisms less credible.
