wow you sound very irritated, maybe you have worms from overeating and becoming constipated. Well if you don't like that Idea then don't look into it. It will just keep reproducing until your intestines explode. Go ahead and be fat and we'll see who's happier and lives longer.

??? WTF THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE PART OF THAT THAT EVEN CAME CLOSE TO BEING A RATIONAL LOGICAL OR INTELLIGENT COMMENT.

      • Posted By: skaterbws @ 12/08/2007 9:37:06 AM

uh oh, you got the worms too? mood swings are a major sign. I'm sorry you have them. Oh and that last comment was directed to someone way down the list. While i was typing it 100,000 people had already submitted a comment on their fat.

dudley123 - I am overweight AND quite happy with myself. Body image and self esteem are two very different things. While I agree that I need to lose weight to be healthy, that has zero to do with how I feel about myself. I like who I am, I feel I am a pretty person and I have many more attributes to take into account over what the scale says. You can be confortable with who you are AND desire to change yourself for one reason or another. We should ALWAYS want to better ourselves, but bettering ourselves does not mean that we can't be happy... I am proud of who I am, what I look like and my accomplishments... there is no need for me to "pretend" to be confortable and I for one do not "make excuses" for myself or short sided people like you.

I have heard the comments before, I am happy with myself, no you are not, you are pretending, you are kidding yoursefl, only a sick person, or someone outsied the limits of their mind would believe the nonesense.

    Just read the title again-

I guess the writer of this article would have us believe that obesity is really an astigmatism problem.

Put down the ding dongs and the ho hos americans. We are getting too damn fat. Fat should never be considered normal. Why is being tired, smelly, and jiggly normal? Because we don't follow through with what is healthy for us... let's go get another cheeseburger and fries... fricken A this is ridiculous. I don't care about genetics, that argument is almost completely bunk. Everyone in my family tends to be overweight... I however work out, eat right and am conscious about my body and guess what? I'm fit and in shape.

YOU HAVE GOT BIGGER PROBLEMS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH WEIGHT!! YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO GO TALK TO SOMEONE...YOUR A WALKING DEAD PERSON. MAY GOD HELP YOU.

Is fat the new norm? NO! *** NO! How bout we make self control and exercise the NEW NORM!!!!!!

    Part Two:

Ever go to a lunch counter or deli? Ever have trouble seeing the menu beyond the fleshy patrons?
Ever watch the waddling hippos leave the counter with enough food to feed three horses, two cows and five Great Danes? And this person wants me to believe it is a thyroid problem?

The best way to start losing weight is to EAT LESS. Try that. Fat is a disease and it is curable. People eat huge portions of food for there meals and even our current society is making allowances for this by telling people that it is OK. Soon it will be harder to get medical insurance if you are fat because of all the bad side effects that go with it. Do your self and your family a favor. Lose the weight now and live a healthier live. You will thank your self later.

I understand that overweight people are more able to think that they will always be fat and that is that. I do pity obese people, but seriously if you want to and I mean if you really want to lose weight you can. There is no and if or buts about that. If you truely want to lose weight you can. Also on the thin remarks. Of course when you are underweight you want to stay or even decrease your weight, because that is just how it is. Those are the facts deal with them

I am soooo sick and tired of this wole thin fat thing. Nothing tastes as good as good as thin feels? I got news for you lady, your wrong. Maybe for you but not for everybody OK. The key to every womans happiness is not being thin, and I'm really, really tired of our society and media trying to shove it down our throats that it is. Being healthy and happy is ALL thats important, and I spend many moments in silence and prayer that our future generation of women will see this and know this very important point.

hey cazydoc22 - If you lost over 100 lbs in 5 months how'd you do it? I'd love to know. Even my friend who had gastric bypass didn't lose that much that fast. And before you start on the med procedure - she didn't have any other choice, partially handicapped means little exercise.

  • Posted By: theflyingshrimp95 @ 12/08/2007 9:18:24 AM

i agree with casydoc, when your thin it does make you feel better and you dont have to throw up to do that. i love it when people say i am super skinny. i was chubby when i was a kid,but now i run every day and drink water not soda. it works and i am thin now. i am 4' 10" (i know short, right?) and weigh 85 pounds and am very muscular. i heart being thin. so mommy97, just think of all the good things thin has to offer and stop making yourself throwup...its DISGUSTING!!!!

we do mind that the women are overweight, we have visions of how we want our women to look, think about this, working out in the gym 5 to 6 days a week in order to maintain and dating an obese woman, who thinks she might not need to lose a pound, or that it is ok to be fat. Men are visible creatures, look around, see who they watch.

  • Posted By: Bbama @ 12/05/2007 1:47:00 PM

Obese women should be sent to fat camp, or a tropical island that is deserted with no food. Fat people should lose the weight or lose their rights to be called Americans.

    • Posted By: bnl1181 @ 12/08/2007 9:04:29 AM

Hey how about this? Lose the ingorancy and stupidity or lose your right to be and American

    • Posted By: howzithawaiian? @ 12/05/2007 2:01:06 PM

Bbama, what the **** is wrong with you? America is a breeding ground for obesity. It's about being healthy and happy. I agree that obesity is a danger to your health and that exercise and a balanced diet are the key.
Not everyone can be a certain size. You and those that share your backward, narrow minded views should be sent to ignorant camp.

As a man I see or hear eople all the time saying "I need to lose weight! If your comfortable where you are then live that way, but if your not take small steps to "lose weight" or get healthier! You do not have to lose all the weight in 5 days, just start slow and make small changes in your life to benefit your health in the long run!

How can people be so cruel. I have read many comments on here and some or really intelligent, professional, caring people. Do you jerks not realize what a fool you are. Has God not touched your heart. You can make your point across without the cruel remarks. People wonder why some people choose to commit suicide because of their weight. I think it stems from ignorance like these idiots on here. These same idiots if were saw in person are probably very ugly, Even if your face features may be attractive your attitude makes you so ugly. I would much rather my children look up to overweight caring, loving people that they can reach out to then ignorance.

    • Posted By: mommy979903 @ 12/08/2007 8:58:53 AM

I completely agree that people can be so cruel. Society has given an image as to what the people "should look like" in order to be "beautiful" from the outside. What about the inside?
I say this because I struggled and CONTINUE to struggle with my weight. I am actually AFRAID to eat and gain weight and if I do eat, I will force myself to throw up and I take exlax pills...........
I am afraid to disappoint friends that think I am beautiful and thin as a mother of 3. I feel like I need to maintain this look. AND as I read some of the IGNORANT commments.......... it is also those comments that continue to make me feel this way. My daughter is 4 and I don't want her to live this way!!!!!!!!! I teach all 3 of my children the RIGHT way to eat and remind them of the choices they make when choosing snacks. I feed balanced meals and healthy snacks. HOWEVER, even as I eat this with them, the feeling of fullness makes me sick.
SO ALL OF YOU THAT THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL AND SKINNY AND BEAUTIFUL IS THE ONLY WAY....... thanks for ruining who I am and making me SICK with my worries.........................

part 9: (9, considered the number before elevation) And my last words, remember that our bodies are always a work in progress! There is no set weight that magically appears and then we have reached perfection. There is maintenance, hormonal changes, and all the other things that just seem to happen naturally. So what works for me now, may not work for me in later years. And I will do the research, see appropriate doctors, get bloodwork, and decide at that time what is best for my overall health. I remember my grandmother always saying "it's either your face or your ***!". It's true, with a little more wieght, I look significantly younger. My face is not guant, and I am more radiant. Everyone has to find their own comfort zone. And healthy comfort zone. And remember that doctors only need just a couple semesters of nutrition. Before you start a diet pill, or take a doctors advice, seek out a nutritionist who has spent their lives studying this. And perhaps a trainer as well. Always make sure you are well enough medically speaking to start any change in regime through a md, but when it comes to nutritional advice...honestly, they don't have to learn much at all in school, to me, one of the largest contributors to why americans are misinformed and popping "magic pills" that are never a long term answer.
Hope my "long-winded" open vulnerability helped someone? This issue obviously means a lot to me, and I am a model that actively fights to bring care and awareness to the industry. -Genevieve

I was reading a recent comment to this ad. People who can't look past a persons appearance are ignorant. Oh and not being able to loose weight is a myth. Every hear of hyperinsulinism? Or what about thyroid diseases? Like hypothyroidism. This person should really think about things before writing. This person has probably never had a weight problem. Must have been difficult to lose a whole 25 pounds. I can, but as soon as I eat one wrong food I gain. Metabolism, hormones. You disgust me by your accusations. I don't need someone to tell me how bad fat looks. I do not smell and I am very clean. You are a very very very crude person. I am not grossly overweight, and I already don't like what I look like and it is a struggle for me to lose weight. I have hyperinsulinism, and thyroid problems. So don't sit on your high horse and pretend to know what you are talking about. YOU ARE A DISGUSTING PERSON WHO NEEDS TO NOT JUDGE. And you know who you are............. By the way with a lot of struggling and extremely, I mean extremely low carbs I have managed to lose 45 pounds in a year. I can't eat carbs. READ before you SPEAK.
