I cannot believe another article is making us believe we should consider overweight as normal and acceptable. I have just lost 17lbs in one month without dieting or exercising and used a $20 product which I made back in food costs twofold. I cannot remember when I last felt this good and I lied to "myself "too for years pretending my extra weight was justified. If anyone else is interested look at easy-2.com. This is seriously real and should be given away free by governments so everyone can control there intake. Once we start to focus on everyone being a normal healthy weight instead of talking about stupid BMI indicators the problem will go away and we can then focus on real things that make our lives more fulfilled, not diets, forced exercise routines and hype.

some woman feel happy about thier weight

  • Posted By: luvnmycurvz1986 @ 12/08/2007 5:19:17 AM

I am 21 years of age and weigh in at 160 lbs. my BMI says I am obese funny I don't feel that way. I've fought with myself over what I should look like and didn't win till this year. I have been up and down in dress sizes. Never a 00 though. And I got to say this women with curves a little belly, alot of ass, and a lot of thigh are just as beautiful as any athletic, fit, SKINNY girl out ther. Not that I'm hating on skinny people, my soon to be sister in law is a size00 and I absolutely adore her. A lot of my best friends are bigger than me and I love them too. But none of their weights has a damn thing to do with me. I have to love me. At the end of the day if I can curl up on the couch with the man who loves and absolutely adores my curves it's been a good day. What turned my head 4 years ago was when I started into the work force, I hated myself. I went to work and within a week I had all the guys asking who it the new girl? A size 10 at the time I wont lie that it was flattering, and the men were astonished to find that I thought I was fat and ugly. It's funny though when I tell people my weight the can't believe it. So I guess it all goes back to what my momma always told me, "men like women with an ass. And even my 00 soon to be sis in law has an ass. So no matter what size you are if you feel good, and you believe in you, I think you can do anything. And for those of you out there NOT respecting the curves, Marilyn Monroe was not a size 00 or a 2, but she shore was sexy as hell to men everywhere.

I am 21 years of age. I weigh in at 160 lbs. at just 5'6" tall. My whole life I have thought I was fat up and down between a size 15 and a size 8. I've always felt the pressure to lose weight, but then again I have had numerous boyfriends. I get looks everywhere I go, and the only thing I can say is men love curves. My BMI says I am obese and my measurements would cause a supermodel to though up her diet coke and rice pattie she had for lunch, but I absolutely love myself. I'm done worrying what people think. I lost 50lbs before entering my sophmore year of high school, and I was so excited when I could see my collarbone. how disgusting is that. At 130 lbs. my mom told me I was too thin. And then my weight went whacko again. Today I get comments from guys at work and they can't believe I don't find myself beautiful. I recently went up to a size 10 or 12 depending on who makes the jeans, and honestly I am bleesed. I feel healthy. I work all night standing on my feet for eight hours and catching car parts. I am covered in grease and lube by the end of the night and I have men who just adore me. Does everyone forget that Marilyn monroe was a bombshell and nowhere near a size 00 or a 2. You can be beautiful no matter what your size. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. I know cause I have to go on my family vacation to Florida every year with my soon to be sister in law who is a size 00. And I used to look at her and think I wish I looked like that but I don't because I found a man who loves a curvy and yes SEXY woman and I know it. To anyone who may read this please love yourself. It's so important to know your selfworth and know that it isn't measured by your BMI or your dress size, it's what you think and nobody else has a right to make you feel bad, not even you. Lovn the curves ladies. By the way just to throw it on out there my measurements are 36-30-40, and I am proud to have thighs and an ass.

IVORYCOAST, you are so sadly ignorant. To suggest that someone's outer appearance determines their usefulness?? Useful to whom, might I ask? Also, it really sounds like you have an issue with this country - that we are pathetic? Sounds to me like you are the one who needs to be shipped to somewhere like, I don't know, Ethiopia. To get some darn gratefulness in you. I am sorry people who are not skin and bones are SUCH a burden to you. But this is where you are wrong. You can be healthy and still be what today is considered "Plus Size". It is when it becomes a health issue that people NEED to make a change. No one is going to change because some ignorant dumb**s comes on here and says they are useless and need to die. Wise up, dear.

Fat people are not normal. Stop eating. This fat epedemic is a result of hormone foods sponsored by the new FDA in the early 80's . Hence there are no more natural skinny people in America. Yet you can go to any third world country and find people of the same build on how we looked 25 years ago. America is now a joke when it comes to fat. There are fast food resturants every 30 feet. How can you not be fat? Any extra time on your hands just munch or eat something great. Take your fat ass for a walk and leave the car keys home.

Ivory Coast, you are a HUGE idiot, and so amazingly ignorant. By putting people down for their appearance, were you trying to help the problem? I am just curious, because if that was your motive, you fail. Big time. Sounds like you have an issue with the country...being pathetic? I think you should be the one to go live somewhere else, like ethiopia, then maybe you would get some darn gratefulness. To suggest that someone's outer appearance determines whether they are useful or not??? Useful to whom? I am sorry that everyone in the world is not walking bones and skin. And those people are such a burden on you. But really, you should just get over it. It's not hurting you, and people can live the way they want. That was such an uninformed and stupid comment.

I believe that putting the amount of food on your plate that you intend to eat, and only that amount, helps immensely to keep your eating habits healthy. I am so angry that I read how concerned people are about everyone gaining weight, and when I, a very healthy, slim person go to a restaurant and ask for a half order they always tell me it can't be done. Then they proceed to give me the regular amount which is enough to feed 3 people. This is ridiculous. This is a waste of food. And eating all of it makes a person fat and is even more wasteful in that way. America has a screw loose in this department.

Dieting is like running up 10 flights of stairs and trying to brethe at a slow pace the whole time. Your body knows what it needs, and you are only hurting yourself trying to restrain it. If you start dieting, you better plan on dieting for a VERY VERY long time. If you diet for a while then go back, your body will usualy try to gain back all the weight it lost.

Ivorycoast, you are an idiot. Our country does need to change into a healthier and more active society, but to put down "overweight" people in such a way does not motivate anyone, it only aggravates making people less likely to do something. By encouraging people and motivating it keeps everyone positive. We need more positive, forward thinking people in this world. Stop buying huge tv's and more comfortable "lazy boys" and add more jogging paths to your communities and healthy restaurants and not more fast food joints. Good luck to everyone who is taking the innitiative to want a healthier lifestyle.

It is possible to be overweight but be healthy as well, by eating right and exercising regularly some peoples body types just don't them become that size 0 that most models are these days. It is fine no matter what a woman weights, if she is healthy, happy, and confident I think that's all that matters. Confidence is the sexiest thing a woman can have. Some of the sexiest women in time weren't just skin and bones......look at Marilyn Monroe, today she would have been considered a plus size woman! There are much more important things going on in the world today than to be judging people just by the way they look. Before you judge someone, find out why you are doing so, take a look at your own life and say: "Why am I judging this person?"

The truth is...weight and eating habits are far more complicated this just a matter of desire or will-power. The psychology of food and our approach to it remains for many of us outside the realm of conscious control. In reading these comments it is obvious that food/weight addictions exist in a myriad of forms and are accompanied by much judgement from all sides. Looks to me like we need to get "healthier" inidividually and as a society, in more important ways before we'll ever win the weight debate.

    The reasoning is simple.

Firstly, overweight people are routinely told to set realistic goals, as evidence shows that when failing to lose large target weights, people simply give up and eat more. Anyone who announced they want to lose 100 pounds would thus reveal themselves to be ill-informed, unrealistic, and doomed to failure - and who wants to look like an idiot? Social pressure alone would encourage people to claim they wish to lose a more reasonable amount of weight.

Secondly, once a very fat person loses a small target weight, and congratulate themselves for doing it (as they should), they are now simply a fat person instead of a very fat person. Once the pleasure of their earlier success has faded, they will once again be under pressure to lose a "sensible" amount of weight - perhaps a few pounds, as they are, after all, still fat. Humans always have targets, even if they display little interest in achieving them, and this spiral of desire to a lower and lower weight is still present. The research in this article says nothing about what happens to people at the thin end of that spiral, so far from claiming this is a victory for common sense, I would say this glosses over the real issue - wouldn't you?
