This is what America is about. As a young student I have studied about of the candidates running for this 2008 election, many of them seems to be unsure what they really want to change. Ron Paul is the only one that seems to make sense, plus he emphasize the same views he had in his 1988 election.

Wow! A candidate with a brain! How refreshing that he understands the constitution and economics. Can't wait for election day!

First of all, I don't know what kind of video codec you're using in that flash dohickey, but that's some of the absolute best streaming video I've ever seen on the web, and in fact your whole video pane (and now that I'm here, the comment pane) are really well done; I've never been here, but I'll be back. Especially to see part 5! Not a bad interview, I can't get a handle on the interviewer (nothing wrong with that though), but overall this is good--there are hundreds of articles of Romney's Big-Ass Mormon Speech-Talk, but there are hundreds of Paul articles......total. Thank you very much for taking the time to conduct journalism and informing people on this issue, I don't know about your other output, but so you know I'm going to be, which means you just got one more person reading your ads. Keep it up, for the love of god!

According to Mr. Fineman, the only thing the average American needs to know about Ron Paul is Paul's opinion of Romney and Huckabee. What senseless drivel. Could they have possibly found a more sour, openly antagonistic interviewer than this creep? It???s no wonder they didn???t air this???I???ve seen better interviews on late night infomercials.

  • Posted By: h5mind @ 12/09/2007 12:29:32 AM

Apparently, according to Mr. Fineman, the only thing the American voter truly cares about is which church a candidate attends-- what incredible drivel. Talk about pushing an agenda. Could they have possibly found a more biased, overtly antagonistic creep to interview Paul? I'd take Geraldo Rivera over this clown.

Nothing against Ron Paul, but, on gun control his answer was pathetic. Do local municipalities really have the resources to find and apprehend would-be bombers? Is he or is he not for allowing Uzis to be sold freely in this country. Because if they can be, they will be--they will proliferate. Should people reasonably have the right to buy and stockpile assault weapons? Who is going to stop them if the federal government doesn't?

    • Posted By: msmarie @ 12/08/2007 11:21:17 PM

serz: I think the point is that the Constitution says we can own guns to protect ourselves. I don't think people are as evil as you portray them to be. Obviously, your statements are made from a position of fear, probably created by watching too much news. Look around at the world you personally live in. Stop taking the news media's position and try to find your own. If guns are taken away, then only the government will have guns. Who will protect you from them?

    • Posted By: qwertz @ 12/07/2007 9:20:52 PM

serz, the problem with laws are that only law-abiding citizens tend to follow them.

Right now it's against the law to sell crack. Do you seriously believe that crack isn't widely available?

Would would-be bombers really care that it's against the law for them to make bombs? or buy uzis? Just think before posting next time.

The point in not outlawing uzis is so that people like you and me can lawfully own uzis if we believe that's what it takes to protect ourselves. Because you're right, local municipalities can't protect you from every criminal that unlawfully possesses an uzi, neither can the federal government for that matter. But, and now listen closely, Dr. Paul wants to protect your right to protect yourself.

It makes perfect sense in a very imperfect world.

If Ron Paul is elected will he enact executive order 11110,and if not why not ?

    • Posted By: R.G.Buchanan @ 12/08/2007 11:13:56 PM

Reagan signed Executive Order 12608 -- Elimination of Unnecessary Executive Orders and Technical Amendments to Others. Although 11110 is not directly mentioned, 12608 eliminated Section 1(j) of Executive Order 10289, which was added by Section 1(a) of Executive Order 11110
while 11110 still exists, it refers to an extinct law, nullifying its authority. Ron Paul would need to do more.

I agree with Pastor Walker - Fineman tries so hard to discredit Ron Paul. Shame on you Mr. Fineman for attacking the most honest politician in decades. Why couldn't you do the same to Romney or Giuliani? By the way, at 2:05, did you guys see the smirk on Fineman's face when Paul makes his comment about how many Jews support his views?

Thank you so much for telling me what to think and watch for. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to think for myself. This is the kind of "media " direction that has caused a good many Americans to disbelieve EVERYTHING the media says. It's obvious the views are very slanted and Mr. Fineman's attempt at stirring up trouble is way too obvious. I also thought the questions about machine guns were loaded with insinuations and inuendos. The question about whether Ron Paul believes Israel has a right to their own homeland was just downright stupid. How does this affect Americans? How about some objective news coverage for a change.

Where did Fineman go to school to learn how to interview? How many leading questions can one ask? All his questions were given with an agenda behind them. Goodness, just ask the questions that Americans care about! If I were newsweek I would be embarrassed to even air this interview. Total garbage journalism. However Ron Paul came out looking like he always has, very honest and sincere. I gained much respect for Him and I want to hear more of Paul, not Fineman's @#^%.

It will be interesting to see how the twist Dr. Pauls words to paint the most unfavorable picture of him they can. Typical media, this is why Dr. Paul has 10 times more support than is reported. People tired of controlled media and controlling government.

I just lost a lot of respect for Fineman. He really comes off as an uninformed dolt in his own interview.

  • Posted By: hoaglandb @ 12/08/2007 8:51:47 PM

My favorite part of this is how Fineman introduces this interview warning viewers "The interesting thing to watch for in what Ron Paul has to say in these interviews is his criticism of both Mick Huckabee and Mitt Romney, uh the leading contenders now in Iowa, and Ron Paul was very interesting on that topic and very critical of BOTH candidates." At no point during the following interview is Ron Paul critical of either candidate. When he is asked by Fineman about his opinion of the campaign strategy used by Huckabee in Iowa, Mr. Paul neglects to pass judgment on it simply saying it's not something he would do himself and eloquently lists the reasons why he stays away from that language. Fineman then turns the question around to ask Mr. Paul if Huckabee's ad means "vote for me because I'm a Christian." At this point it is obvious Mr. Paul recognizes the subtle rouse employed by Fineman and states that he has not seen the ad and the best he can do is an indirect interpretation. Fineman moves on to Huckabee. In response, Mr. Paul says that it is a sad state of affairs that Romney is pressured by the media pundits to talk about his religion because religion should not be a qualification for office separation of church and state, ever heard of it?]. That's the interview in it's entirety. How Fineman could justify this as being "very critical of BOTH candidates" is beyond me. That's equivalent to warning of a huge forest fire and then showing an unlit match floating in a bowl of water. It's an amazing thing to try and see these big media talking heads trying to discredit the only honest man in politics.

The machine gun question is so stupid. I just got back from a gun show and they were seling M-15's for $1,200 and AK-47's for around $800. Obviously it's ok to own machine guns. I'm sure there were a few business owners in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina who wished they owned one.

  • Posted By: Jpfromtally @ 12/08/2007 8:36:41 PM

It took me 20 hours this year to fill out my income tax. I got a couple of letters from the IRS and I was terrified. I mean I had a pit in my stomach thinking that I was going to be audited. Luckily, it turned out to be nothing major. But it made me think, ""How is it that law abiding citizens are so afraid of a branch of government? And does the government have a right to know every little personal detail about my financial life?"

Roads, fire departments, police, etc. are funded locally. Imagine the economic boom this country would experience if the federal government could go back to 1995 spending.

captainbeah: I picked up on that as well. There were really bad cut points in the interview.

As for the interview it self, kind of boring and more of a bad stunt at making Ron Paul look bad. Mr. Fineman tried over and over again to make Ron Paul appear out of touch. It is true you support tax protestors, isn't true you support machine guns in the home, you are against the Un therefore you must hate Israel. This is such a sad day in American politics. This is how you treat a noble man who has served the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. He is not in office to support any other nation. I am American who supports America. Since Mr. Fineman brought up Iran and Israel, let's compare the two countries. Iran has NO Army, Navy Airforce, and NO NUCLEAR weapons. Israel on the other hand gets $10 billion a year from the US, has an Airforce, Navy, Army and HAS 20+ nuclear weapons ready to fire. Hmmm, sounds like Israel can hold her own. As reported by the New York Times, Israel Israel took out a nuclear site. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/14/washington/14weapons.html

Ron Paul is right. Let's open up the US Constitution and READ IT! U.S. Constitution: Article VI: "... no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States" - the founders understood that we MUST look at the person. NOT the religion they believe in. We can change our religion overnight, but you cannot change your CHARACTER!

    Ron Paul 2008!!

I was never sure why Israel even made the news so much. It gets 2.6 billion in aid: http://shelby.senate.gov/legislation/ForeignAid.pdf. Alright, but are we actually considering the question of whether a country created essentially in the aftermath of WWII has a right to exist? What's next? Does Taiwan have a right to exist? Pakistan? Any problems they have with Palestinians are border conflicts. So they don't have a lcear border. W Why do we care?
