to bbjohn: im sure if x. order 11110 is constitutional, then of course he would be right on top of it. if it'e not, then it would be round filed with the rest of our gov't's overladed and bloated un(anti) constitutional excess! dr. paul is the real deal, folks. he walks it like he talks it. the rest are lying, pandering 2-faced greed machines! in my opinoin, he needs to dismantle the cia and most of our 'intellegence' agencies, who practice their own agendas with complete disregard for our rights and freedoms.

I find it interesting that Fineman stated that Ron Paul was very critical of Huckabee and Romney when he did not criticize them at all. All he stated was that he felt it was sad that they were forced by pundits and others to put their religious beliefs in the spotlight when everyone should really be interested in their policy goals instead. How is that criticism of the candidates? Why were his comments painted in a negative light by the interviewer?

I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD RESEARCH EACH CANDIDATE'S BACKGROUND AND ACTIONS DURING THEIR PAST AS POLITICIANS, THEN RESEARCH THE EFFECTS AND CHANGES THEIR CAMPAING PROMISSES IF KEPT WOULD CAUSE. AND WHILE YOUR AT IT CHECK OUR FORIEGN POLICIES WE ARE IN TROUBLE. THEN, MAKE YOUR DESCISION. HANDS DOWN IT'S -RON PAUL- EDUCATE YOURSELF AMERICA, HELP STOP OUR GOVERNMENT BEFORE IT'S A WORLD GOVERNMENT.

I BELIEVE IF EVERYONE WOULD SPEND A LITTLE TIME RESEARCHING EACH CANDIDATE'S BACKGROUND AND ACTIONS IN POLITICS NOT PROMISSES THEY MAKE TO GET IN OFFICE, AND THE WINNER OF THAT RESEARCH IS RON PAUL HANDS DOWN. EDUCATE YOURSELF AMERICA.

Thank you for this interview. The more I listen to Ron Paul the more Iike him. It is amazing to listen to a politician with such humility, wisdom, and understandng.

Scratch that......I misspoke, I called him a politician, this is not true......He is a STATESMAN. He is truly one of America's BEST when it comes to leadership.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a Ron Paul supporter and have been far longer than all the hype post Nov 5. However, I am surprised that so many of you think he came off well in these interviews. He seemed to hedge and evade the answers (looked like he doesn't have a solid policy statement re gun control) and I thought he came off poorly. Also, I am confused as to why he couldn't just say he supports Israel's right to exist without all the qualifyers. The question was direct. He could have simply said "yes" if he does support it's right and then talked about why he doesn't think the U.S. should be entangled in the affairs of Israel/Palestine. His delayed affirmation of Israel and some of the posts on this site concern me...I am not Jewish but it looks like Ron Paul is attracting the anti-semites. Honestly, after seeing these interviews and reading some of the frightening comments some of his supporters have left on this post, I am having second thoughts. Too bad he attracts so many of those on the fringe as some of the posts herein demonstrate.

So your voting for his supporters then? As apparently you feel they'll be dictating his policy when elected. I thought his answers were very Frank in regards to Israel. He forgot to mention they have an 120 Nuclear bombs themselves, and that they attacked the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967 and then tried to blame it on the Arabs. He said it right we need to stop supportig them and all other Foreign entanglements not expressly defined by the Constitution, which there are none. I also suggest you do some studying on the word anti-semitism as well, as in order to be anti something there has to be a definition of what it's to. Why has the definition for the word Semite been changed? Do you believe the Arab nations are anti-semite? Your delving into an area that requires a great deal of research, which you obviously haven't done, before making general accusations towards others. Expecting Israel, and every other country we've been subsidizing (including Corporate welfare) to stand on their own, does not make anyone anti anything. On gun control, it seemed pretty plain that unless your building a bomb next door or pretty much anywhere in the conuntry it would be allright, at least that's what I heard. Considering the source and the slanted interview technique used, I'd say he did extremely well.

I just wanted to clarify that I don't blame the Israeli people for the actions of their Government any more than I would blame Americans for the actions of ours. One must realize the propaganda being used by the puppetmasters over all peoples of the world. Serous study would reveal this, if one were willing to make the effort. Many we think are our enemies are truly not, but for the sinister actions of the powermongers within and behind the scenes of our Governments all across this world, and much more collusion than we could ever imagine. Ron Paul said it best in the Conspiracy question at the CNN/Youtube debates. It's a war of ideologies, Globalism vs National Sovereignty.

Excellent thoughts. This is such a huge and vibrant topic for personal research for people to come to terms with and come up with some understanding of the truth. If Americans are content with Israel being the center of the universe, it is crucial for the intelligent voters to discard what the media feeds them and start from scratch. Individuals must be allowed to come to their own conclusions based on all undeniable facts. It's fundemental to a real free society.

Because he is NOT a Zionist. Until and unless ISRAELIS, THE ISRAELI-LOBBY DOMINATED US CONGRESS, and other shills RECOGNIZE PALESTINE'S RIGHT TO EXIST as before Israel was created thru force, there will never be fair peace in the Middle East. Enough about Israel....I don't give a damn about her, and because of it the Arabs hate America. Unless the American people force their cowardly Israel-kissing politicians to fess up about being INDEPENDENT from Israel, the US will never show independence and even handedness when dealing with Arabs and Muslim world.

4Freedom, that is exactly what Howard Fineman wanted out of Dr. Paul a simple yes or no so that he could misrepresent Dr. Paul's position.

If he said yes, it would imply that he as president would support the continued existence of an Israeli state, with violence if need be.

If he said no, it would imply that he'd except the destruction of Israel by Palestine.

Nothing in the middle east is black and white, and I'll repeat: Fineman's attempt to get yes/no answers out of Dr. Paul on complex topics, where he's personal beliefs might not coincide with what he believes the US's (ie. representing millions of other people) positions should be, is unprofessional.

Paul's position is clear: He believes Israel has a right to continued existence, and so do the Palestinians. If they want to wage war over that, that's there business. Our lives and our money should not be wasted over land that does not belong to US citizens.

Though, I think if you asked Dr. Paul, he'd gladly send over as many diplomats as it takes if he thought that they could help resolve the problem peacefully.

4Freedom - I understand your concerns, however, you must understand that the questions the interviewer is asking are attempts to derail Ron Paul's campaign. You obviously are aware that almost any candidate must support Israel's right to exist. If any politician says otherwise, his/her campaign is over. The media will crucify the individual. He clearly stated the process in which the state of Israel came into being was flawed - it displaced a native Palestinian population. So he can't just agree with such blanket statements such as "I support Israel's right to Exist" as others do just to get the Jewish vote, he is articulating what should be done going forward to afford Israel peace and stability. I think that's more important. In certain ways, when US politicians cower to the Pro-Israel lobby, it actually sets Israel back more and perpetuates the conflict in the middle east. Thats why peace initiatives usually never occur until the end of presidential terms - be it a US President or the Prime Minister of Israel. However, you know, we should always worry about our interests first and foremost. I thought his answers are pretty clear.

It's absolutely ridiculous that the MSM has never once questioned that fact that all the kids shooting others are all on psychoactive drugs designed "to curb violent tendencies." It's time to haul the pharmacuetical companies into court along with the psychiatrists who are working with the troubled youths. It's time to see the ugly truth. Ron Paul is the mold inwhich serious change to our downward spiral will be reserved.

  • Posted By: mr1126 @ 12/07/2007 9:24:28 PM

Oh if I only had a Uzi I could have shot that guy the other day at the mall.Don't be so affraid of guns. The media only covers the bad things guns can do. If I want to do harm. I don't need a gun. You people are funny and your gun controll ideas. The Constitution is our guide. Let freedom ring and punnish those who violate the laws after not before. I think all trucks should be taken off the road .Because more people die from the weight of the truck .How ... Its the same logic as gun controll

Wow! What a marvelous interview, Mr. Fineman! Excellent choices of topics, framing of the questions so that they get to the heart of what's being discussed without coming across as confrontational. I was glued to the screen for the entire series of segments. Thanks again!

I like Ron Paul's approach, we do not need to interfere with other nations' internal affairs, and at home we do not need the federal government deciding and mandating decisions that are best left up to communities, states, and the individual. I really wish people would understand what Ron Paul's message of freedom really means, instead the "punditocracy" want to attach a label to him, with some belief you may disagree with so that you disregard the overall message of restoring constitutional law, removing the loopholes created by the IRS, Federal Reserve, Patriot Act, and so much else that comes from the federal government.

when he speaks truth to politics, it is difficult to argue. looking at his record, it becomes almost impossible. Well done Dr. Paul.

I really like your comment here , it is consise and puts the candidate in great light . your comment speaks that he is honest in his past and what he wants for america is truth. please send your comment to the campaign manager Mr lew Moore . your comment is not a pundit or slogan , it is a statement of fact.

I must have watched a different interview than Mr. Fineman. .... quote "the interesting thing to watch for ....is his criticism of both Huckabee and Romney.... very critical of both candidates" I watched the interview twice and I did not think he was critical of either candidate but rather expressed his view that ones religion shouldnt play such a dominate role in the presidental race. Rather the candidates integrity, honesty, experience and views on matters pertaining to how a president will do his/her job. Wow what a concept. Frankly I enjoyed his candor. Too bad I'm a democrat.

    • Posted By: MRUK @ 12/08/2007 4:20:46 AM

I live in the UK and even I know you can re register as a republican. There are NO democrats apart from maybe Dennis Kucinich that can even come close to Ron Paul so to any democrats out there who what to change America back to the great land it used to be then register as a republican, vote for Ron Paul and get him elected. If you really want change and you really want to save your country and indeed probably alot of lives around the world, vote Ron Paul.

You can change that with just a few keystrokes on ur keyboard. Ive been a Democrat all my life but have not voted since 1994 because I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils. Dr. paul has cured my apathy. This year Im voting as an American and whatever tag I have to wear to do that I'll wear. Follow your heart and vote for Ron Paul!

  • Posted By: Coulro DeSouth @ 12/08/2007 3:37:56 AM

I don't think Fineman was condescending, rather, he asked hardball questions. I'm glad he did so, because it gave Dr. Paul the opportunity to knock each one out of the park.

    • Posted By: saveourcountry @ 12/08/2007 4:10:49 AM

yes he , mr. fineman deserves the freedom to ask. and he was fine with me. I think Represenative Ron Paul was glad for the questions . Ron Paul simply invites dialog and promotes liberty at it finest. both men had a good exchange and probably came away closer and more open minded.

  • Posted By: saveourcountry @ 12/08/2007 4:02:36 AM

The truth is that Represenative Ron Paul is very respectful about his beliefs . He is a person who can open the hearts and minds of his listeners. His approach to reality is very simple and yet it takes the message giver out of the path and gives way to honest dialog without offending a person. the message he gives is something each person in america and the world can live with . He is a person who can verbalize the truth and steal your heart and help us all realize we are all brothers and sisters who want and need freedoom , and freedom involves letting the world live without interference . He knows that our constitution is paramont to liberty and the following of it is peace . and where liberty exhist ,creative heart and minds will abound . each gender and each race will benifit from the constitution as we uphold it. the law is for the lawless and the constitution is set for the protection of the rights and liberty of our nations citizens and our neighbors where ever they are in the world. Represenative Ron Paul we stand with you. and beside you .

  • Posted By: ricknhouston @ 12/08/2007 4:00:24 AM

And I think Mr. Fineman represented himself poorly. My question to Mr. Fineman would be ...other than Mr.Pauls honest, direct and extremely responsive answers to each and every one of your questions, which besides his response to your very cleverly disguised question, you remember ... the one with the barbs, concerning Israel did you have a problem with. I, personally, thought his response to the final question concerning Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Romney was answered without personal bias, hatred or malice. I think you were outclassed in your miserably poor attempt to discredit the most honest, truthful courageous candidate for President this country has seen in decades. Shame on you and all the others who are trying oh so miserably to do this.

  • Posted By: ricknhouston @ 12/08/2007 3:49:48 AM

.. And what exactly, Mr. Fineman, other than your very apparent disapproval Mr. Pauls response to your pointed and conived question concerning Israel did you have a problem with?

I am a 55 yr old Iowan that was feed up with All politicians, I did not plan on voting this presidential cycle because it took both hands to hold my nose. Ron Paul is a fresh breeze blowing through the halls that our founding fathers built. Finally someone that I can support, I have never given money to a politician and still haven't but I have given to statesman Paul's campaign. I will also be going to the caucus in January.
