Everyone in the news media want to say it is Romney's Mormonism that is causing him to slip. I don't believe it. Romney was always a weak candidate. Social conservatives didn't like his record on abortion, etc. Other republicans didn't like his "flip flops" on the social issues because they make him appear incincer on everything else. In Iowa his being a from New England hurts him more than Mormoniksm.

rahs you need to learn about Founding Fathers, they were Deists and Unitarians. Huckabee would be laughed out of every modern developed country in world today if he said "my religion DEFINES me".
he'll be completely unelectable in general. There are many voters outside of Jesusland.

Mike Huckabee is the only candidate that resembles our founding fathers. The United States
needs to return to times like those.

He is an ordained minister of the Baptist church. I am concerned if his religous beliefs will have precendence over his duty as President. Any comments on this?

I am confused about Mike Huckabee???? He states that he is a Christian and is pro-life on the abortion issue. However, he supports the death penalty. Thou shall not kill means what exactly?? Save the unborn and murder the condemned??

He KNOWS what direction to lead the country towards.
The voters, need to let him just DO it

Good leaders do exclude any Americans as Huckabee does! The word KNOWS reminds me of Bush when we were ALL lied to about Iraq, cause he KNEW they are an iminate threat, which turned out to become a threatless country, after the lies were proven! He still KNOWS they are, in his own little world we don't exsist in! This i KINOW to be true Huckabee is full of the same by product as Bush!!

In my opinion, Huckabee is a straight shooter. He LISTENS, then speaks.
It's starting to really feel GOOD that someone like Huckabee has come along.
He wants to BE President. He KNOWS what he wants. All voters, should just let him DO it,

Huckabee and his communistic view on gays will only lead us to the same fate as the CHINESE kill babies exspecialy the girls kill them all! They are the devils playground with the source between there legs, so kill them at birth, cause we are over populated, with gays who in my life i have yet to see a gay couple with 9 kids on welfare, if you find one deal with it ,and complain to welfare!! Not there freedom of choice!!! Huckabee and Rommny are full of religious ***!! Are you willing to eat it for 4-8 more years??? No i have yet to make up my own mind, time is on my side, but these two don't belong to the human race! Elect the Pope, at least he wants us out of Iraq and leave the politics of the middle-east to those in the middle-east and calls on the USA to stop sticking its nose where it don't belong!!! These two want to tell you how to live and who to pray to and believe in only what they believe, there choice not yours! It's not what i fought and friends died for!! NOT EVER

I think it isn't the end of the world to leave out Ron Paul. In the RealClearPolitics average of political polls, he takes in around 4% of respondents. I think that if he, uhh, gets some more support then it would make sense to add him. But we already have something like 5 candidates with at least twice as much support, so it makes sense to leave him (and Hunter and Tancredo) out right now. If it makes you feel better, no one was doing polls on Huckabee a month or two ago.

Ron Paul was left outta poll. Who cares about Iraq or Iran or Sudan or immigration or whatever those little insignificant things are. Those all pale next to the travesty of Ron Paul not being mentioned in the poll when he went from nobody to nobody plus. I LOVE RON PAUL. RON PAUL IS GOD. WE WILL CONTINUE TO SAY THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN EVERY WEBSITE IN THE LAND BECAUSE WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO WITH OUR LIVES. RON PAUL IS THE GREATEST HUMAN BEING EVER. Ok so we're crazy but you have to admire how ferocisouly we cling to nothing.

About Hillary: If you are considering her anyway, but are torn between her and someone else, vote for her BECAUSE she is a woman. Ladies it is OUR time, if we miss this chance, it may take a decade or two before we have another serious woman contender who can be elected President. It will forever boost the belief in ALL young girls and women to think: Yes I REALLY can be President too!

Twister, we have been electing leaders for no apparent reason for 60 years now. Threr are no good people running for any party. The American people have become so dumb that we are like sheep and when one jumps of the cliff to it's death and we will follow it.

There's a lot of discussion on Polls in here. My comment on the subject. If you judge reality based upon a small percentage of the folks that actually answer their phone to unkown caller IDs, and believe that pooling is accurate within 3% than you are foolish.

Polls are not done to get a feel for where the elections are going. Polls are taken and reported by the news media in order to manipulate the way Americans will vote.

Don't be decieved by the media, do your homework and then go out to vote.

You want my poll. The only candiates I am concidering at this point are in no particular order Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Barrack Obama. There really are no other candidates running from either party. I'm a registered republican and yes I will vote for Obama before any of the other republican candidate. I'd love to see a Romney/Paul 2008 ticket, that would be a great team. You can reverse the order of those names and the ticket will still be great. Obama would make a great Vice President under any primary candidate, unfortunately he doesn't have any other electable candidates in his party. Obama if you win your party nomination, how about concidering Ron Paul for VP? Romney, Paul, you would both do well to have Obama as your runing mate if he doesn't win the democratic nomination.

Someday VP won't be selected but will be elected, and that's the way it should be now. If it was we wouldn't have had Cheney for the past 8 years.

Originally our VP was whoever lost the presidential bid. It would be an interesting turn to see that happen again.

WHY do you not even mention Ron Paul, who in THIS POLL beat McCain and came within one point of Giuliana?! You are so disgustingly biased.

  • Posted By: PauliticsAsUsual @ 12/08/2007 11:06:36 AM

    Republicans.
If you are serious about beating the democrats for the white house vote for Ron Paul.
He'll demolish Hilary with the no war dems
He'll have the vote of every pro 2nd amendment gun owner
He'll carry the christian vote with his just war theory and his personal relationship with god
He'll win over the family values crowd with his exemplary 50 year marriage with NO scandals
He's already got the youth vote from all parties rapped up
He'll win the day for pro-lifers with a sound well reasoned argument that even befuddled the women on "The View"
He'll win over politicians around the globe with his non-interventionist, trade and friendship platform
He'll even win the liberal vote on his open stance on gay marriage...
He's even got the love of wall street with his strong currency, free market, low tax agenda

OBAMA/ HILARY CANNOT BEAT THIS GUY...CANT. THEY WOULD BE SLAUGHTERED IN A DEBATE WITH THIS MAN...ABSOLUTELY EATEN ALIVE.

He's not perfect but he's principled and his principles come from the constitution. You wont agree with everything but you'll know where you stand and why your standing there.

If you dont like his position then change the constitution....

According to Rolling Stone, Huckabee spent a $97,000 in yaxpayer funds on personal expenses like Taco Bell and dog food. Gotta love those Southern Baptists, who "expect" favors. It's a tradition in these parts. And for the poster below me, it is not about left and right, It is about right and wrong. The Dems are on the corporate payroll too.\, and the majority of AMericans are not starving.

  • Posted By: rbachone @ 12/08/2007 10:46:28 AM

yes by all means Ron Paul should be included as should Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo and for that matter bring back Brownbach let the all the best the Greed Over Patriotism party shine brightso all can see the absolute hypocrasy of them all ... the bible thumping "patriots" who never served the country and only try to be devisive in all they do ... that is when they are not putting tax payers dollars in their pockets and the pockets of corporations... yeah we need more republicans to help exxon/mobil make billions in profits why the majority of Americans starve so they can afford heating oil and gas to get to work... indeed tax the poor more and keep giving the rich more breaks... the Greed Over Patriotism party has shown all what they do for too long the poor continue to get poorer the middle class is disapearing and the rich continue to get richer... oh yes and look how they support our troops... make them serve extended and multiple tours in Iraq minus the armour they need and then when they get wounded give them a bill to reimburse their enlistment bonus of yes and don't forget the deplorable conditions of the VA ... yes brainless wonders this is what the Greed Over Politics stands for and as long as they can keep the voters looking at all the devisive issues they won't look at the damage being done to our troups, tax payers and the real patriots.... wake up throw them all out so we can have a chance to become great nation once again

Under Mike Huckabee, Arkansas saw a 37 percent increase in sales tax, a 16 percent increase in gas tax and a monster 103 percent increase in cigarette taxes. According to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, the state suffered a net tax increase of $505 million under Huckabee. With Mike as governor, state spending exploded more than 65% between 1996 and 2004, which just happened to be more than three times the inflation rate. State debt rose by almost one billion dollars and the number of government workers rose 20%.
American Spectator reports that Huckabee has also been investigated fourteen times and officially reprimanded five times by the state Ethics Commission, a respected, non-partisan body. MSNBC says there were many other scandals. Greg Pierce says in the ???conservative??? Washington Times that Mike ???used public money for family restaurant meals, boat expenses, and other personal uses. He tried to claim as his own some $70,000 of furniture donated to the governor???s mansion. - As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.
Confidential Arkansas state government records, including letters from these women, obtained by the Huffington Post and revealed publicly for the first time, directly contradict the version of events now being put forward by Huckabee.
While on the campaign trail, Huckabee has claimed that he supported the 1999 release of Wayne Dumond because, at the time, he had no good reason to believe that the man represented a further threat to the public. Thanks to Huckabee's intervention, conducted in concert with a right-wing tabloid campaign on Dumond's behalf, Dumond was let out of prison 25 years before his sentence would have ended.
