Ron Paul's omission from this poll analysis is pitiful. The fact that a man who was once considered a "fringe" candidate now polls higher than a former "frontrunner" and political celebrity (McCain) is certainly worthy of mention. Also, Ron Paul is leading the Republican nominees in fundraising this quarter. Also, to those of you who claim that one person is posting all of the pro-Paul comments, you severely underestimate Dr. Paul's popularity among those of us who read the news with a critical eye.

Huckabee over Hiliary any day of the week. The Clinton's regime was that American's did not have enough sense to make a decision for themself and needed "government" to do it for them. This election is not about religion but about values that will hold a country together. The extreme LEFT would have government in every aspect of every individual's privates life and is unable to tolerate any criticism. The extreme RIGHT would have no government. At least Huckabee has a standard that he lives by and comes from a background of inclusion, not exclusion!!

      You got that right!!!

For now, and November is a long way off, I would vote for Huckabee. Anybody but another Clinton! This country almost did not survive the last one.

Note that Ron Paul received 8% of the votes. That's better than John McCain at 6%, yet Ron Paul is excluded from this article, while McCain is not. What's up Newsweek?
Please see this link for an actual record of the poll results:

It sure seems odd that Ron Paul isn't even mentioned in the results when he is at a higher percentage than McCain in this poll.

    Huckabee vs Hillary.

I'd rather NOT choose EITHER. Both are pro-Israel shills embedded with the neocons and/or Christian
Zionists. They're both destructive to the US foreign policy interests.
I'd choose Ron Paul, then Obama. But if any other Republican wins vs. Hillary, I WILL hold my nose and vote for Hillary. There is no substitute for Republican warmongering anymore.

Great, another bloodthirsty hypocrite to shred the constitution and sell our children into slavery. In practical terms, a vote for Hucklebee is a vote for Hilary.

ok...you think Huckabee is a 'bloodthirsty hypocrite' but apparently he's preferable to you over HIllary. You obviously don't like either one. Who do you support?

Huckawho? This country doesn't need is a religous conservative or a Clinton liberal. What we need is a strong President that will make the tough decisions in the best interest of all Americans no matter the race, religion or social status. One that will balance the budget and make the US more financially stable. Healthcare is an important issue that needs a fix, not a bandaid. The next president should not socialize healthcare because this is not the answer. The president should begin by looking into why the insurance companies make so much money on on healthcare. It is a crime what some of the insurance company's CEO's get paid. Last of all, we need a president that will stress good family values. I feel the present liberal media is leading us to moral decay. I believe in freedom of speech but there is point where someone needs to stand up and tell the wrong doers what is right and wrong. Remember, its our family values that once made us a greater nation. We can be the greatest again.

This poll is recent, Ron Paul Beats McCain AND IS ONE POINT BEHIND GIULIANI, YET YOU FAIL TO MENTION HIM? Unlike the other candidates, the turnout for RP supporters will be near 100%. We will be there at the caucus, what is going to happen when he wins the election, are you going to pretend that he didn't? Screw Newsweek, it is just another lackey to censorship.

Mike's engine will run out of steam in a few months when all the dirt starts flying. The republican nomination will go to Mitt Romney. He's the best looking of the bunch, is very smart, and most importantly, has the least amount of baggage. It's gonna' get real nasty before all said and done.

Ron Paul is polling at 8%! Why is not not mentioned while McCain, polling at 6%, is mentioned? Pathetic, Newsweek. Pathetic.

It is outrageous that Ron Paul was not analyzed in this article, yet he did better that Mcain. What is truly amazing, is that some Americans are so brainwashed that they cannot see what is right before their eyes. To them I recommend a book by Edward Bernayse, Propaganda. The People who support Ron Paul are found throughout every race, creed, socio-economic station, and political party. May I also suggest a look at Meetups across the country in association with the different candidates. Barring flagrant voting fraud, Ron Paul will be the next President of the USA, join the rEVOLution!

HUCKABEE THE ANTI CHRIST HAS RISEN! REMEMBER REVELATIONS FROM THE BIBLE! PEOPLE WILL FALL FOR A LEADER FOR NO REASON! BEWARE AMERICA! SATAN HAS RISEN!

This country will never get any better when Christians vote only for those with a "deep faith in Jesus Christ." Don't you people realize that God has nothing to do with how our country should be run. Conservative Christians are just as much a threat to this country as terrorists, with your narrow minded radical views.

    • Posted By: leeward @ 12/07/2007 11:59:04 PM

WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS COUNTRY'S PRINCIPLES WERE BASED ON FROM THE BEGINNING? AND BY THE WAY THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, ONLY THAT CONGRESS SHALL MAKE NO LAW EST. ANY CHURCH NOR MAKE ANY LAW BARRING THEM.
