Jesus also said "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone". People are good at throwing stone but as I recall we don't have nail prints in our hands so I guess that means we are not perfect. All things work for the glory of God and so will this election.

Your argument is wonderful and I like the concept of going beyond today's "knowledge, conventional wisdom, hearsay, and even commonly accepted Scripture." However, you use this specific instance of Huckabee's ideas coinciding with Castro's to generalize his similarity with the Cuban dictator; not cool...

Let???s look at the Gospel and see how closely Mike Huckabee measures as a Christian.

    1. Jesus spent most of his ministry healing the sick. He never once asked about HMO???s, insurance or the ability to pay. Huckabee is opposed to universal medical care.
    2. Jesus told the rich man to sell all he and give to the poor. Huckabee???s vision of America is one in which the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. He opposes any programs to reduce or eliminate poverty.
    3. Jesus would definitely rewrite the rules of the WTO and World Bank. Huckabee finds nothing wrong with a global economic system which condemns billions of people to abject poverty.
    4. Jesus told Peter to put down his sword and healed the centurion whose ear Peter just cut off. Huckabee loves guns and weapons. Would guns be allowed in the Kingdom of Heaven?
    5. God gave us a beautiful world to share. Huckabeee and his ilk are doing nothing about globarl warming or the environment, turning a beautiful world into an inferno.
    6. Jesus never condemned homosexuals nor did he speak out against gay marriage. His outreach to the Samaritans whom righteous people loved to hate illustrates what he would say about the homophobia that Huckabee and his ilk so love to preach.
    7. While never condemning homosexuals, Jesus had nothing but the worst words for pharisees, basically the same sort of Bible thumbing preacher that Huckabee represents.
As Jesus said, ???Be ware of those who come in my name but are not of me.??? That admonition definitely applies to Huckabee.
