I am a grandmother of one of the girls slandered on juicy. I am broked hearted after reading the posts. This is a complete disgrace to the human race as I know it. I have never read such slander eccept in the tabloids.Young minds cannot handle such as this when written about them. I only pray that my grandaughter never reads this for I fear that the poison could be very deadly for her and shatter her future in college out of fear. It was really that horrible, I just want to cry for her and so many others that have been made to look so undesirable as a person. Any input would be appreciated on where to start to stop the pain before more tragedy unfolds. Sincerely, Nana of 6 wonderful Grands

The Bible says "Treat others as U want then to Treat U", so first ask yourself what is the purpose of your editoral comments? Is it to Help r Degrade, if to degrade, then U should ask yourself "What kind of person am I? we can always oppose any person r anything without trying to destroy one's character with names and addresses , two wrongs Never make a right, if its criminal then call the authorities.

The Bible says "Treat others as U want Them to Treat U", translation meaning say Nothing r write nothing negative about others, that u would not want others to say about u, if u do then obviously u r just as negative as the person that u r trying to draw attention to, so ask Yourself the question-Why am I during this? Is it to help r degrade this person, says a lot about what kind if person UR.

I don't think that this kind of thing should be going on, but like they said, people won't stop writing stuff just because they want them to stop. People need to realize that just because others don't know who is saying this stuff doesn't mean it won't hurt them. There are other ways of enting your feelings than publically bashing someone.

I think that's it's good when people express their opinons, but you have to draw a line someone and i don't think you should be expressing your feelings on line anyways. Why do you want people to read what you think? That's a little personal. If you have a problem with someone then talk to them about it, but don't post their business online. That's what blogs and diaries are for. You can share your innermost feelings without anyone reading them.Gossip sites are fun, but they can be hurtful.

I don't think that this website is good idea. This webstie gives people the opportunity to hurt other people globaly. Anyone and everone in the world could view something said about you, whether it is true or not. i definetly wouldn't like someone saying something about me online, even if it is true.

  • Posted By: Sixth_grade_hottie @ 03/19/2008 1:12:41 PM

I definetly think that all the websites like JuicyCampus should be shut down. I mean, yeah anyone can post anything they want on it, but it has made an image for itself that is really bad. People are posting really inapropriate things on there that should not be on the web. If poeple want to ust their freedom of speech they should not do it on the internet, it hurts way too many poeples feelings and is not okay.

I don't think that this gossip is considered "Freedom of Speech." Since gossip is mainly untrue, it may be illegal to post these comments. However, gossip is more of a lifestyle for many people, including teenagers and young adults. Gossip is bad but I don't think it can be stopped. JuicyCampus.com is not the only site with gossip- but other sites can report people.

anything that's put out for the public to read should have to abide by the laws that anyother public for of media would. It's not right to be able to post names, adresses, and personal info. without the consent of the person.

i think that making not letting kids say whatever they want about each other is good, so many kids kill themselves over the years, just because of what people say to them or about them on the web. they should try to shut this website down, or at least not say names of the people they want to write and gossip about, theres no fun in that in not saying names, they say their names just so they can be mad fun of and be known about what has happened. they should think about what people do to themselves just because of these awful words people are saying about them, they should think about that next time they want to gossip, because pretty soon karma is going to come back around and people will start gossiping about them

I think that the govenment should be able to do something about people spreading libelous posts on the internet. If that isn't possible, it should at least be illegal for the first and last names of the people targeted to be posted. These gossip sites really can hurt people and ruin peoples lives. Innocent people should not have to go through this, especially without being able to do anything about it. The people posting should be more mature than to attack defenseless targets.

I don't think that freedom of speech should cover this type of situation. I think this is wrong and it ruines other peoples lives. People should just keep their true feelings to themselves and not post them on the interenet where everyone can read them. If you do read something like this you shouldnt always believe it because you havnt heard both sides of the story and it is very easy for someone to lie about something to get others on their side.

i think that it isnt good but its our freedom of sppech and theres really nothing you can do about it

There is no control over the Internet. Sure, there are sponsored sites, and college sites are among these, but on unsponsored sites, people cannot be stopped from saying whatever they feel. As bad as it may be, there may be no way to prevent people from doing so. Even if the sites such as JuicyCampus were monitored, people would still find a way to get past this. Also, gossip is not always bad, so why should gossip be eliminated from the Internet?

  • Posted By: Maddiem99 @ 03/19/2008 1:11:17 PM

I think that it is impossible to stop gossip. It has been around forever, whether it's on the internet or straight from a persons mouth, trying to stop gossip would be like trying to stop a pandemic.

i think that even though this is a hurtful site for students that no matter what people will feel the way they do and it will get out somehow. weather its from them talking about it or writing about it and there are plenty other ways students can write about what they think without saying who it is from. Its nothing that can be stopped for good, but it can be more private and maybe less public about it.
