A Pastor’s True Calling

Huckabee's success is due, in part, to right-time, right-place luck. But he says it comes from above.

Comment: IMPORTANT BULLETIN FOR ALL BLOGGERS ON THIS SITE:

    TO NEWSWEEK STAFF:

This is to report that there is a FRAUD going on, on this site, in which bloggers are using the names of various bloggers (Obama supporters are most likely the culprits) who are fraudulently writing blogs that are deplorable and tagging them under other bloggers names (non-Obama supporters names). I officially reported such a fraudulent abusive use of fake postings that I just viewed on this site today that affected me personally. This is what it said in which the blogger fraudulently used my name as the poster:

IT SAID THIS. I NEVER WROTE THIS. SO ALL OTHER POSTERS, ESPECIALLY FORMER HILLARY SUPPORTERS, BEWARE:

    Posted By: sharenews @ 06/11/2008 03:05:43

Comment: I agree. So why do so many Obama supporters make him out to be a Messiah?

I NEVER wrote the above comment or ANY mention of Obama being a Messiah. At this point I am ready to bring this abusive process that you are using on your site to FOX NEWS as I have done this before and they are very responsive. I have copied this report to send onto the media if I dont see a stop to the smearing of my name or others on this site moving forward!

Mike Huckabee is correct when he stated success comes from above. God allows us yo be in the right place at the right time. However, God expects us to put forth an effort and do the right thing. Those who rely only on their ambitions sometime reach success, but it can be taken away. Governor Huckabee was my choice to represent our great nation as the next President of the USA. Family values have dropped to an all time low I feel that if family values and our love pof our fellow man were brought back into our lives, some of the many issues og today could be instrumental in uniting oujr great country. Thank you Governor for your stance and you represented yourself well. God Bless you and your lovely family. Martha Morgan birmingham alabama

Clinton and Obama make me want to puke. McCain is a Clinton wannabe who basically is more Pro-War. All three of these fools who keep talking about how much they care about the American people, voted YEA (Yes) to authorize the Patriot Act, which undermines all of our civil liberties (urban, rural, whatever). If the average American knew what these crack pot politicians were doing to our basic rights as American citizens, I think they would be outraged (well, may be I am wrong on that point, but they really should be in my opinion). Huckabees supports the Patriot Act as well.

Please, please, please. I hope a Third Party is going to emerge that will call for the Repeal of the Patriot Act, as well as oppose the McHuckClinObama train wreck policies of bigger government, more subsidies, less civil rights, and higher taxes. Too bad Ron Paul can't get the media exposure necessary to mount an effective campaign.

Huckabee attended a church headed by Hagee, a man who proclaims that we must support Israel 100% for it is the New Israel of the New Testament. This is relatively recent thought in Christianity, with most of Christianity from ancient times on saying that the New Israel is the Church. Thus, I fear Huckabee and his approach to foreign policy would subjugate American interests to Israel's.

It amazes me that that so called "Christians" ( Huckabee) bash others for their religious beliefs. I thought being a Christian meant following the teachings and gospels of Christ and his disciples, and Huckabee seems very Un Christian like in his campaign and beliefs. His actions and words are so very not Christian. Christ as portrayed was kind, forgiving, tolerant and views all human beings as Children of God, no matter what denomination , creed, race or polictical party. Time and Time again he judges others and finds faults, what is wrong with this picture? Romney was a true Christian in the way he treated others and how he handled himself politically. Huckabee would be a big mistake in the white house. I hope Christians around the US see the major hypocrisy of Huckabee. As a Christian I see nothing wrong with Huckabee as a person, you could say by writing this I am juding him. NO, in fact I am just stating Christian beliefs and that he goes against pretty much every single attribute Christians are to seek out.

Huckabee appears to have a Christian background, but because of his pride Romney seems to be more of a true Christian.

    Huckabee = phoney!

As an Arkansan who lived under the Huckster's regime I am flabbergasted and appalled that this man has made it this far in the campaign. If you want to know the Huckster's true character, take a look at his record as governor of Arkansas. You'll see more questionable ethics and quid pro quo back scratching than any other campaign (except for Hillary's, of course). I am begging all of the Republicans out there to not be wooed by his baptist minister, aww shucks act and really investigate this man! We Arkansans were glad to get him out of the governor's mansion, but we didn't think people would vote him into the White House.

Christian. Single mom. ZHard working middle class. Arkansan. Could not afford Huckabee as Governor and cannot afford him as President. One liners, hand out palm up for all that people will give him (and he will not report!) and his sanctimonious attitude are way too much for hard working middle class Americans. Do not elect this selfish man.

Huckabee i think is a great candidate mainly for his ability to understand people that may have viewpoints that differ from his, he made that clear at the debate when he declared that more than half the nation i.e. 'non- republicans' is comprised of pimps, prostitutes, and gangmembers. He appararently has a really good feel about how those of us not of the republican evangelical persuasion like to spend our time.

I appreciate the lengths you are going to make sure that we all know that Mike Huckabee was a minister and has a strong Christian faith. I understand that, in your mind, that instantly makes him ineligable to run for president. What you don't understand is there are a large number of Americans that don't agree with you. You can't tell us how to think, you can't influence how we vote and you can't control the outcome of any election. You've lost credibility with so many Americans because you have promoted such a liberal view of everything. I know that you are stunned that Mike Huckabee won Iowa. Get used to the feeling.

Btw, I don't know you personally, but I know you're type. I do not dislike you personally because I dislike your faith. I'm sure if religion didn't come up we'd get along fine. I am a rather secular person. I am not looking for a fight. I just used your comment as an example. My appologies.

Angel: Why does it bother you so much that people "worship a dead guy?" That is one of the beautiful things about America...we're all free to worship whomever and whatever we would like. Give your time, money, and faith to whatever you want but don't criticize someone else just because they believe differently than you. If you like religious bigotry, maybe you should go to China and see what your religious freedoms are there???

Angel..1967 - the hate in your heart is obvious to everyone here. It is sad. I'll pray for you to find something - I won't push my faith on you and judge your beliefs as you have mine - something, that will soften your outlook and give you some kindness for others who believe differently from you.

    1. Mike Huckabee is not "Religious" he is a born again Christian who has a living vital relationship with Jesus Christ. This is where people get confused. You see religion is dead and full of rules and regulations. God however is living and active in the lives of men, women and children who have recognized how empty religion and living can be without His power dwelling in them through a day by day relationship that has transformed them from the inside out.
    2. Christians are not push-over's by the way. If they are true God followers and living in a vital relationship with Him, they are living out their faith in your workplace, your schools, your families, striving to be an encouragement to the hurting, extending hope to the helpless, and at times choosing to be quiet when they are criticised for kindness and the desire to build a better future for children and upcoming generations
    everywhere.
    3. Just as athiests and unbelievers challenge Christians for their faith, I would challenge anyone reading my comments and say, Have you tried Jesus? Have you ever had a relationship with God where you have seen Him answer prayer and do the impossible? Have you ever slept in peace and known that if you died tonight you would spend all of eternity in heaven? I challenge you, if you have not experienced these things, why not ? I tell you what.....start reading the bible, attend a church every Sunday for the next 3 months and if you still think the "Religion" of Mike Huckabee is what makes Him stand for values and if after 3 months you think God is useless, I'll pray that He will give you back your misery to live with, even after the grave.
    4. Ever heard the comment, Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven? Well, guess what, Christians are human beings seeking to uphold God's moral code that leads to a healthy, fulfilling, rewarding life. All men and women everywhere are seeking to belong. There is a hole in our souls until God fills it with Himself. That's why we as human beings seek to be accepted, to be heard and to be in relationship. Only God can fill that void. So, when you see a Christian like Mike Huckabee become passionate about what he believes, and when he shares his desires to work towards a brighter future for you, your kids and grandkids, he does this from the heart but even greater still, he does this with the God of all the universe on his side, and believe me God is not someone you or I want to challenge. That's the rest of the story.

Jeez, what a crock of crap. Take god in your heart and be fulfilled, get on your knees and worship some dead guy, love the sinner but hate the sin. You people are amazing; you believe in the unbelieveable and give your faith, money, time, and ultimately your life to it!! What a waste of energy on that which does not exist!

THE FRONT PAGE OF THE WALL STREET JOURNAL SHOULD CARRY THIS ON IT TO SHOW HOW THE CONSERAVATIVE RIGHT AND LEFT CAN HAVE THE WOOL PULLED OVER THEIR EYES BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE SILVER TONGUES WHEN IT COMES TO RELIGIOUS VIEW POINTS. THE ANTI christWILL BE ABLE TO DO THIS WITHOUT BLINKING AN EYE. SO WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS ,RELIGIOIN SHOULD BE KEPT PERSONAL.

  • Posted By: rwooldrid @ 01/09/2008 5:16:18 PM

THIS SHOULD BE FRONT PAGE NEWS ON THE WALL STREET JOURNAL SO THAT THE CONSERVATIVE RIGHT AND LEFT CAN SEE WHAT AND HOW THE ANTI CHRIST CAN MOVE IN TO FOOL MANY AND I MANY PEOPLE.

  • Posted By: greg41 @ 01/07/2008 6:15:50 AM

Don't we had enough with the Actual president as a conservative and a fake religious man using the religious for his own matters so people have to elect another one . I just wish people can see clear the reality to vote a man like Pastor Huckabee , please not another one otherwise we'll see the results.

"Republican candidates have learned how to "talk the language." They know that Christians are basically compassionate and trusting people, and therefore prone to being gullible and easily manipulated. They know that Christians have short memories and are desperate to be accepted at the king's table (largely a result of the church-growth movement and mega-church mentality).
It is at this point that much blame should be cast at the feet of the leaders of the so-called Religious Right. They have proven themselves to be much more interested in enriching their "ministries" (and themselves in the process) than they are in standing uncompromisingly for the truth. The infatuation with power and success has made them weak and vulnerable.
As a result, George W. Bush and Karl Rove have made mincemeat out of the Religious Right. They have shown everyone that once you win the support of the Christian Right with rhetoric, you can get by with just about anything. Christians are horrible at holding Republicans accountable.
Hence, neocon Republicans such as Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, and even Rudy Giuliani are all currently receiving fractured support from the Christian Right. However, you can mark this down: the Christian Right (with few exceptions) will eventually coalesce around whoever wins the Republican nomination--no matter who it is. You see, it's all about political partisanship. Principles are only something we talk about during off-election years."
