Governor Mike Huckabee humbled himself under the Mighty Hand of God, and NOW the Lord is raising him up. Take a Bible and read carefully ! Peter 5:6. and Jeremiah 33:3. Gov. Huckabee is being "raised up by the Lord," whether anyone likes it...or not. Wen you read these verse...promises from the Most High...you'll understand why. All the arguing, rationalization...wont' change these promises. Right now this nation needs revival in a desperate way. That revival...love of Christ...honoring of the Lord...is not something Mike Huckabee dreamed up...he is literally living proof of God's amazing promises. Many will laugh, spurn.. he, go ahead..but you have no clue yet..waht the Most High will do..IF a person siimply does what these verses promise. Mike Huckabee is a living testimony for Jesus Christ. Like Joseph in teh Bible, or Moses, Esther or David...might be a GOOD idea to pray for this anointed man of God.

    Very Respectfully yours in Christ

Comment: Btw, I don't know you personally, but I know you're type. I do not dislike you personally because I dislike your faith. I'm sure if religion didn't come up we'd get along fine. I am a rather secular person. I am not looking for a fight. I just used your comment as an example. My appologies.

Even though its not Wiccan, I use this as my holy book http://avesta.org/avesta.html. Read it to see what I believe. I'm not some Al Queda lover. I actually hate the guys. I just think evangelical christianity is VERY unAryan.

I am a Pagan American. I have not become a discrace to the caucasian race like you Armywife12 or you CHJeff. All of you Evangelical Christians are out of touch with you're race's mythic past. Evangelical Christianity is a scar on the face of the Aryan people. Return to TRUE CHRISTIANITY, the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH. If your semetic God is real which I think he isn't, he will damn both you and me for rejecting those who were ordained by his apostles. Read the bible. St. Peter is the holds the keys to heaven. All protestants have rejected him and therefore are the scum of the earth. That's if Christianity is real. I personally hate protestants and dislike catholics. I mean, Beowulf saved more people than Jesus. As a Wiccan, I worship the Celestial God and Earth Goddess. They are represented by the heroes of old: Zeus, Gaia, Venus, Apollo, Helios, Thor, Etc. Read the Avesta: "Beware my Aryan Children of false gods who will twist and decieve the words of the Great Ahura Mazdah (the all - the uncreated - THE TRUE GOD). Jesus won't save you zelots. For I follow the craft. As I walk the elizium fields in the spirit world you will be burning in Hades for supporting an unjust war and taking human life. For that is the responsibility of the God and Goddess. Humans are not to judge the lives of their criminals. I can't tell you how to think. But you will answer to the God and Goddess, the two deities of THE GREAT MAZDAH for turning your back on your legendary heratige and turning to some Joe Shmoe from Galilee

Hey, I don't care if he made a few mistakes as governor. Being in a position to make decisions means you are in a position to make mistakes. We are all human. What really bothers me about Huckabee is the possibility that he really believes God might be guiding his candidacy and wants him to be president. After George Bush who could possibly want a president who feels a certainty that he is a part of God's master plan. Give me a candidate who doubts rather than a person full of such dangerous certainties. Decisions informed by doubt and tripple checking are less likely to go disasterously wrong than a president who's trust is entirely in God rather than the brains god gave him.

Do you have the specific location where you heard or read that he said God wants him to be president?

Huckabee stated in a recent debate that when asked if he believed in evolution, (he does not) he thought he was being asked if there is a God. He has also stated that he does not know if the Earth is older than 10,000 years.

In other words, he is a Young Earth Creationist that believes human beings rode on the backs of dinosaurs like we saw in the Flintstones.

Scientists like myself have a word to describe people like this: ???crazy???.

Anyone who confuses the Flintstones with a documentary is not fit to have nuclear launch codes.

He is now claiming that God has intervened in our election on his behalf (endorsed by God?). Please don???t let his genital description of his faith hide its radicalism.

A very serious question: Where are you going to spend eternity? And if you have an answer, how do you know for sure?

  • Posted By: windom5 @ 12/10/2007 2:37:18 AM

    Matthew 28
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down
from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was
like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that
they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I
know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

    Acts 26
At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun,
shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the
earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why
persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And I said, Who art
thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy
    feet:

    Matthew 17
After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them
up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like
the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them
Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be
here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters???one for you, one for Moses and one for
Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the
cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!" When
the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and
touched them. "Get up," he said. "Don't be afraid." When they looked up, they saw no one
    except Jesus.

Again why is the reaction of Joseph Smith, who had seen this same "brightness and glory defy
all description", so different than any other account in Holy Scripture?

    • Posted By: pampena @ 01/04/2008 3:13:40 AM

Joseph Smith denied that Jesus is God.

The phenomenon of Mike Huckabee is created by the perception that he comes from the people, not to the people from big business and the corporate media. People instinctly recognize that every attempt to demean his candidacy is a statement of fear by the elite that his election would alter the status quo and their place in it. The best thing that could happen to America is to elect Mike Huckabee President.

    • Posted By: ljpitcher @ 12/10/2007 2:15:46 PM

Maybe it is a statement that they fear his liberal fiscal policies. Higher taxes, week on immigrating, commuting sentences left and right. We need to make sure we take a hard look at any candidate running for public office and not take him at his word just because he claims to be the "Christian Leader". Identity politics at its worst.

It appears Mike has never held a real job or ran a real business. Somebody tell me what he has done except shill for the tobacco companies, preach on Sunday and be a pol. I have to admit he comes across as sincere and comfortable in his own skin. But, one could describe most hucksters that way. I never met one I didn???t like. But, all they were able to do was talk; never really did anything. Mike is the biggest huckster in the current race. The media knows it they also know any dem will eat his lunch in the general.

If the republican party claims that they are the party of faith then WHY? on earth did they did not purpose an ammendment to OVERTURN Roe vs. Wae? They had control of all three branches and a majority in the Supreme court. Why are there children without healthcare; Why are there millions of people suffering in this great land. Why are middle class people being abused by credit card companies and other entities like the Oil Industry. Is that God's will or is that the will of a man who claims to be a man of GOD. Religion is a good thing but it is used in the wrong way. This is a perfect example. Holy War!! How ridiculous is that. Holy and war just don't seem to fit toghether. It is a Holy Joke when any man claims they are speaking on behalf of God. In their minds they think they are speaking on behalf of God but they are not they are speaking on their own behalf or their church's is behalf. This is why we have SEPERATION of CHURCH AND STATE. When you lead a state you represent everyone; Just like Jesus INCLUDED EVERYONE. This why people are scared of Mormons they only include themselves. THere's nothing wrong with that but don't expect the rest of the population to adhere to your rules and beliefs. There your beliefs not GOD'S.

The Huckster is a false prophet - he is leading ignorant people down the path of destrictopm of this Nation just as satan wants him to do. NO MAN WALKS AWAY FROM A CHURCH AND DESERTS IT THE WAY HE HAS CAN CALL HIMSELF A BORN-AGAIN BELIEVER - IT JUST IS NOT TRUE!!! We are in the end times, the last days, and Jesus Christ warned us to beware of people like this - The Huckster is a liar, a deceiver, a thief and a misrepresentation of the Church of Jesus Christ of which HE is the HEAD, the born-again believers are the BODY - there is too much smoke about this old boy for there not to be hell's fires in there someplace!!! DO NOT BE SUCKED IN BY THIS CHARLATAN - HE JUST MAY BE PART OF THE ANTI-CHRIST!!! BETTER LISTEN WHILE YOU HAVE TIME...IF HE GETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, WE COULD GET NUKED QUICKLY - HE IS A MENTAL WEAKLING PREYING ON THE SLIGHTOF-MIND. I am a born-again believer since age 6 and THIS MAN IS A PHONY- the Teachings of Jesus Christ are not what the Huckster represents - not at ALL!!!...

Mike Huckabee's holier than thou political campaign is nothing more than exploitation of the religious gullibility of millions of American evangelicals, which has been the stock-in-trade of the GOP for decades. It actually against the gospel of Jesus Christ for any Christian minister to abandon the pulpit for the political soapbox. Jesus Christ was not a politician and he never sent any of his disciples on political campaigns for public office. In fact, his refusal to become the political leader of the Jews provoked them to turn against him and have him crucified.

For any politician to invoke the name of Jesus Christ for his selfish political campaigns is anti-Christian and hypocritical.

Huckabee should not hoodwink the American evangelical.

    27. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside is full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
    28. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
    Matthew 23:27-28 (New International Version)

    • Posted By: pampena @ 01/04/2008 1:02:52 AM

Jesus was crucified because He agreed to it. He would not have come to earth otherwise. I don't want to split hairs, but the Romans were the ones that had to crucify Jesus because the Jews were not permitted by Roman law to do that. Another "but" is coming ... But had He not been crucified, then He would not have taken the punishment for our sins, and mankind (male and female) would still be separted from Him for all eternity. So the focus seems to be on an irrelevant detail--"...the forest for the trees" , if you will.

However, my greatest concern is the mood of this and other like discussions. What purpose is there to comments that are mean spirited. Do they ever promote viable solutions? (not rhetorrical and no sarcasm intended)

We have had to endure a president for 8 years who thinks God is talking to him. Get religion out of politics and look for the candidate who is smart, confident and knowledgeable about the Middle East, foreign and domestic affairs.....that candidate is Joe Biden. We have looked at each Democrat, they are all great and have alot to offer the American People, but for once I wish the voter would not be blinded by the light of celebrity, not be subliminally told who to vote for by the press, and look at the credentials. Joe Biden has been doing the job of the president. Biden is all about change, just look at his voting record. Biden can bring the moderates, swing voters, independents and the fed up republicans to the table. It is frustrating when I hear the pundits talk about the Democratic vote, in order to win in November we need a candidate who can bring all walks of political life to the table. Biden has proved he can work with Congress, he is brilliant and is ready to step into the job and hit the ground running on inauguration day. Don't be surprised in Iowa on Jan. 3rd, Biden is picking up steam and people are really listening to what he has to say.

Isn't this a fascinating group? We have zealots mocking zealots, conspiracy theorists babbling, liberals whining, conservatives blustering and intellectuals pontificating!

How about some practical thought here? Ancient societies and absurd religions might make for humorous debate, but this is the 21st century and we are on the brink on annihilating each other!

How's about we weed out the wackos and leave our religions at home and try to find some solutions before we are all dead?

Religion is man trying to figure out who God is...It seams absurd to try to figure out how to fix your car from just popping the hood...Pull out the manual and get aquainted with what the manufacture has to say...But of course you sound like your little brain has more knowledge than the creator....the ocean is vast the universe even greater....you can only contain what your vesel can hold...The Word of God.I the container.to lay hold of the infinite with a finite mind...

So does Huckabee think that God wants him to be president? Why else would he believe there's been "divine intervention". Anyone else frightened by the prospect of another president who thinks he's on a mission from God? That's more frightening than the prospect of a Mormon, who you can disagree with doctrinally, but all the Mormons I've known have been very circumspect about their religion, and almost seem overly cautious about not offending other's beliefs.

    • Posted By: MB Diamond @ 12/31/2007 11:47:45 PM

To Be A Christian doesnt mean Your on A mission from God...But it does mean You Know your more than a piece of flesh that live a few years and then just dies whith no purpose.....

  • Posted By: jubalethan @ 12/08/2007 10:15:25 PM

Romney and the press have steered clear of the controversial tenets of the Mormon faith. They are significant because the press and the opposition parties will happily exploit them if Romney becomes the nominee. Will America embrace a man whose faith states that black people descend from Lucifer while whites descend from Jesus? This issue needs to be addressed in the primary process so that the country can select the best candidates from the parties to give the country the best choices next November.

    • Posted By: Political Junkie @ 12/31/2007 3:11:06 AM

Jubal: Where do you get this stuff? Mormons believe that all people are the children/creations of the same God and that he loves them equally.
I would no more expect Romney to defend or promote Mormonism than I would expect Huckabee to defend or promote Southern Baptist ideology. As far as I know, neither is running for Chaplain of the Senate.

I would like to know how his religious beliefs will influence his foreign policy. Many of the evangelical ministers on TV believe that these are the "End Times" and that the American military should be used to actively destroy the enemies of Israel/Jeruselem. How much of a warrior for God does he plan to be? Is his temperment prone to making war or making peace?

  • Posted By: pasta_be_within_you @ 12/09/2007 11:02:38 AM

Pathdoc has some good points. Our history clearly presents that the founders were mainly deists, not theists. By and large, they did not believe in the modern fundamentalist xtian garbage of a personal intervening god. Their principles were good, but can be more easily derived from the Golden Rule than from the dictates of that specious and inconsistent document known as the bible. It's shocking that an evolution-denying luddite is even up for consideration as a candidate for President. This says a lot about the backwardness of the US in comparison to Europe, which is now mainly non-religious, and largely with lower crime rates and better social support systems than we have. Belief in a sky fairy and a young earth are strong indicators of a sick country. We need a smart president, not a babbling, sky fairy touting delusionist. Don't vote for Huchabee.

    • Posted By: AshleyKeen @ 12/18/2007 3:44:36 PM

You, of course, are free to believe in whatever you want, and to say whatever you want as our founding fathers established this country to very wisely enable.

However, I do find it a little bit ironic that you say that their principles could be derived from the Golden Rule rather than the Bible. But a bit of research will show you that the Golden Rule itself hails from that "specious and inconsistent" document you so despise, in the general vicinity of Matthew 6 or 7.

I think you'll find it very interesting to note, also, that some of us sky fairy touting delusionists are actually quite down to earth. Clearly your scope of reference does not include many educated sky fairy touting delusionists. Interestingly enough, it's quite fortuitous that you cite the incredibly advanced European continent. Did you miss the news article earlier this week about Muslim women submitting to invasive surgery in the UK so that their own families and the families of their husbands won't make them victims of honor killings because they are no longer virgins? What about the riots in France? Did you know that 70% of the water in (formerly atheist, communist) Russia is now unfit for Drinking and that 50% of the population has no access to any other water supply? Did you know that female sex trafficking is commonplace in Europe? Clearly THIS is the kind of cultural atmosphere we should be supporting, since Europe is the Bright Vison for the Furture.
