A Pastor’s True Calling

When this guy was running on his record, he could hardly get any traction. Now he is running as a Baptist minister who happened to be a governor one time. He is calling out as he puts it the ones who drink the same kind of "Jesus Juice" and they are responding. The first amendment says Congress shall make no law respecting establishment of a religion. It does not prohibit "executive orders" from crossing this barrier. Catholics, Jews, Mormons, Unitarians, Agnostics, Atheists, etc. beware of this man who proclaimed in a a speech to take back America for Christ. This guy scares the HECK out of me. bAmerica for Christ (Huckabee's words not mine).

The establishment clause was put in by the framers to keep America from having a state religon like England had at the time. It does not mean however, that people of any faith can participate in the government; everyone has that right. Also i am not a Huckabee supporter at this time; i am undecided.

Look how freely Mike issues pardons and paroles compared to states around Arkansas. When you factor in that is for 1/20 as many people it equates to Louisiana ??? 213.,Mississippi ??? 24.,Missouri ??? 79,Oklahoma ??? 178.Tennessee ??? 32Texas--98 =624 Huckabee 703 and by a factor of 20 brings it to 14,060 to 624 for six other geographically similar states. Let's just forgive everyone and uncrowd or jails. Chuck Norris will keep them from murdering and raping again!!

Governors seldom reduce sentences in other states ??? and almost never for murderers serving life without parole or for rapists or for habitual drunk drivers, while in Arkansas it's a regular habit with Huckabee.

vox populi: Did you read what you just quoted? Ther shall be no establishment of or prohibition of religion. That means it'ts none gf the government's business one way or the other. I just don't want my country run like Vatican City wher the rules are made by believers according to their belief. I don't want a pseudo-poe doing things on behalf of my country in my name according to what his god tells him, whoever that god is!

That is the first amendment of the U. S. constitution. I do not see where it explicitly states that there shall be a seperation of church and state. Can anyone find it there or somewhere else in the constitution for me?

From observing Huckabee first hand for 10 years in Arkansas, here are some things to remember about him: 1) he's soft on murderers and rapists, especially those who profess "born-again" conversions 2) he never saw a gift that he didn't like, like expensive suits from his pal Jennngs Osborne 3) he is extremely huffy about anyone who questions his entitlements (think of a TV preacher with his hand caught in the cookie jar) and 4) he loves to increase taxes.

I am sure that there will be a lot of dirt thrown in Huckabees face but the dirt throwers better be careful there isnt a wind blowing some back in their direction. I want to see politics as clean, not muck raking. This country has had enough of that in the quest for political power. Good luck to Huckabee, time for good luck to the United States of America

Well, how refreshing to finally hear a Liberal unknowingly yet clearly define themselves in a nutshell when they attempt in anger to define someone of moral conviction. Newsweeks appears to be putting words into Huckabee's mouth. He never said anything (in these videos) about his calling - others did but he did not.
I'm not saying, I am going to vote for him -- just that I want to hear more from him. And... question why Newsweeks headlines a video as he says and he didn't -- again others did but he did not (at least not in these videos). AND, I'm not saying it would bother me if he felt it was his calling.
