Joshua 3:9 ?? And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.

The Spirit of God says listen, listen to the voice of God, He says the heart of America is about to go through a purging, a shaking, an awakening. For the Spirit of God says today that there are going to be many who are going to see the light of Christ. The Christmas child is going to bring light and life unto the earth again.

Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.

He says to you today be ready and watch for Him because the sign's are here and He says rejoice America! For the man that I place in your White House shall do awesome things. For the year 2008 God says look at your stocks, look at your economy, look at your illegal???s. And God said this is a secret from the Lord today, He says a mighty thing shall shake the nation of Mexico God says this shaking shall bring about tremendous floodings, earthquakes and an awesome display of His presence as He shakes and penetrates the wickedness in this nation.

Mat 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

And God says to America look upon California for they are going to make movies in 2008 that are going to surprise the Christian denominations and they will say can you believe that we have another Christian video that is for the believers of God?

1Ch 29:14 ???But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

God said this to the nation and the spiritual regions of China he says do not worry I have you in My hands. To those who are hurting in Africa He says please listen I am sending you hope I am sending the refugees of troubled times and they will pass these times of tribulation. For God said now the He said the tribulation is taking place but and God says the tribulation has been taking place since Christ left.

Isa 55:13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord's renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed.???

I will give you one more sign for 2008; God said to America, He said you will unite. And the UN will be so scattered and divided in 2009 and 2008 about Iran that they will say we do not know what to do with this nation and God said this He said listen to your President for in 08 he will know what to do in Iran and He says to you today My man that I choose will pray in the White House.

I have news for the zealots who want a preacher in power. Some of us believe the separation of Church and State is a fundamental aspect of this nation, and is a cause worth fighting and dying for. Theocracies are stone age governments pure and simple, and I for one will not live under one under ANY circumstances. We have always been a society where the the minority was defended from the majority by a system of government. If that system of government can no longer provide us such comfort that I feel no obligation to be bound by it's treaties or laws. So if my Christian friends insist on trying to shove their God down my throat, please be forewarned that some of us are quite able and willing to shove back.

How refreshing is Obama looking in the midst of this "Holy War". Go democrats; This contry does not need a HOLY WAR. The Republicans are just too divisive; even amonst themselves. We need a President how can unite all Americans. A President who can find ways to solve the divisive issues that this nation faces. I think people are going to give Obama a chance. All the other candidates are just too polarizing

    • Posted By: t9900 @ 12/11/2007 9:15:15 AM

There is no Holy War, no one even thought about a Holy War until the media did. Shows how much the media controls people.
Have you ever seen the fight between Clinton and Obama. Far worse than any fight between Republicans or even between Democrats and Republicans.

This is much the - rationalization that many Americans make about our government. They all know of the corruption, but rationalize that it is unpatriotic to talk against the government or ungrateful to complain when they enjoy superficial prosperity."

  • Posted By: eddiewhere @ 12/11/2007 12:28:06 AM

This is exactly why people are scared of Mormon's . They are fundamentalist. Their minds are rigid. Once again Mitt is a man not Jesus. By voting for him you are not putting Jesus in the White House. Romney will never encourage the reversal of Roe vs. Wae. This is where you get "brainwashed". One valid point you made is that eventually every American citizen will have one ID card. This card will have all sort of personal information on it. You will not even be able to enter federal building if you do not have this card. To me this is government intrusion an execuse to control the public. I suppose this was Jesus idea. Did they already round up Cheney's gay daughter. Did the founding fathers not seperate religion from state?? It is voters like you that put Bush in power. You voted blindly without thinking. You heard the word GOD

The rude anti-religious comments here is the exact reason why I'd only vote for a religious President even if he/she were Hindu or Jewish. Please stop saying that religious people have no morals when you yourself attack religion with rude language and intolerant comments like calling Jesus 'mythical being in the sky'.

And believe it or not, Christianity had a great influence on the laws and formation of our country. If you cannot except that, its your problem becuase its not a big deal. Its not worth acting childish about because you cannot accept that thing you hate influenced your nations creation.

    • Posted By: angelus1967 @ 12/10/2007 12:04:14 PM

It is not a matter of hate and I personally did not call Jesus a mythical being in the sky; I reserve that label for god. Jesus was a man, a great teacher/rabbi perhaps but just a man. This country, like so many does base some of it's laws on church law and the 10 commandments; I just have a problem when people say this country was founded as a christian nation and everyone else's religions are tolerated out of the good of the christian heart. Yes, the same people who preach hate and intolerence against great segments of society are tolerating the rest of us and letting us stay even though we are all godless heathans. Gee, that does my heart good.....

      • Posted By: t9900 @ 12/10/2007 11:25:53 PM

I really hope you do not call yourself tolerant?

    • Posted By: ElliottMMVII @ 12/10/2007 12:58:08 PM

I agree completely that this country was created with God in mind. It was also created with freedom in mind. So, you can have your religion freely as this is the only way to have a free country, but the country still needs a framework to rest its values, rules and "being" upon. If there is no framework, and that framework is not solid, the country will fail. THIS God-based country has enjoyed GREAT success throughout its creation and over time, but I fear that as God is discounted by some people, especially people in power - and things are taken out of context for the sake of sensationalism or argument, the real meaning of what it means to be an American will be lost. Much like the meaning of the Bible is lost in literal and/or incorrect interpretation. To throw more cynicism into the mix, when this country fails because it has lost its heart - will that be religious freedom's fault? Will it be God's fault when you turned your back on God? Will it be your fault when you turned your back on your country? The presidential race really has little to do with it. The education and understanding of the people is paramount - that they may be able to convince their elected officials to do what is righht for the benefit of themselves and their children through the continuation of a great country.

  • Posted By: eddiewhere @ 12/10/2007 10:42:16 PM

If the republican party claims that they are the party of faith then WHY? on earth did they did not purpose an ammendment to OVERTURN Roe vs. Wae? They had control of all three branches and a majority in the Supreme court. Why are there children without healthcare; Why are there millions of people suffering in this great land. Why are middle class people being abused by credit card companies and other entities like the Oil Industry. Is that God's will or is that the will of a man who claims to be a man of GOD. Religion is a good thing but it is used in the wrong way. This is a perfect example. Holy War!! How ridiculous is that. Holy and war just don't seem to fit toghether. It is a Holy Joke when any man claims they are speaking on behalf of God. In their minds they think they are speaking on behalf of God but they are not they are speaking on their own behalf or their church's is behalf. This is why we have SEPERATION of CHURCH AND STATE. When you lead a state you represent everyone; Just like Jesus INCLUDED EVERYONE. This why people are scared of Mormons they only include themselves. THere's nothing wrong with that but don't expect the rest of the population to adhere to your rules and beliefs. There your beliefs not GOD'S.

Rev Huckabee's seminary training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has in fact not given him an accurate understanding of the historical origins of the canon of Scripture. Sixty-six books were not "canonized," as he avers, in 325 (the date of the Council of Nicaea, which did not in fact fix the canon). Traditionally Athanasius of Alexandria's Festal Letter of 367 is regarded as the earliest clear attestation of the 27 book New Testament canon. The history of the "Old Testament" canon is a good deal more complex, with disagreements among Christian denominations to this day which go back to the early church and the Reformation era (Huckabee's number of 66 books reflects a particular, Protestant canon and viewpoint about "when the Bible was completed"). Newsweek's fact checkers should have caught this patent error, which is repeated in Jon Meacham's article without correction. Prof. Margaret M. Mitchell, Professor of New Testament and Early Christian Literature, University of Chicago

Just like Kennedy, Romney gave his faith speech. However there is on big difference; Nick Romney is not JFK. Who is Romney. and what doe he really stand for; it is not clear to me what Romney would do to solve any divisive issue facing this country. Quite the contrary all the facts lead me to believe that ROmney has no plan to unite just divide. Ask yourself is Romney and Unifier or a Divider. Does he stand for what he believes in or does he stand as a flip-flopper. Provide facts; What can Romney provide this country that no other candidate can provide. If anyone has any answers, I would appreciate it because this man just seem to be hiding something. In his speech he should have said that he is proud Mormon and that his faith would actually be a benefit because it helps him distinguish from right and wrong. Then he should have mentioned that there have been times where his faith allowed him to make a clear and correct decisions. For example; should children have health care. Romney answer is no, only people with money are entitled to health care. This is why a question Romney. How does a Christian rationalize, not providing kids with heatlh care. People precieve Mormons to be very inclusive and cold. What they think is right and that's it. This rigid and fundamentalist view is very dangerous because it leaves a lot o people out of the spectrum. There is no doubt that Romney has changed from a solutions man to puppet for the rebublican fraternal order. Research Romney and prove that he has not changed. Can you believe what ROMNEY SAYS?

...sorry, but I meant to say 'I accept America for what it stands for'...not 'I ecxept...' which doesn't really make sense anyway. and a closing parenthesis mark after catholic...

    thanks

While there should be no religious test to run for office, I am sickened by once again seeing a news outlet once again spout 'separation of church and state,' which does not exist!!!!!!! If someone can show me that phrase in the conststution, I would accept it, but it does not exist. I am of the belief that candidates should be judged based on political views, and their religious beliefs do affect their politics, good, or bad.

    • Posted By: ljpitcher @ 12/10/2007 8:12:35 PM

United States Constitution ??? Article VI: "No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification
to any office or public trust under the United States."

  • Posted By: ElliottMMVII @ 12/10/2007 12:47:01 PM

Angelus, if you don't believe in God, or Christ, or anything, what do you have? What do you have to live for? All sorts of people before you have asked the same question.

This country was actually built on God. Maybe you will find it interesting as the country falls apart as God is removed from it? Of course, that will be from some other reason too, huh?

    • Posted By: angelus1967 @ 12/10/2007 2:05:47 PM

I do not understand why I need to put my faith in some unseen and unknowable being in order to "have something". I believe in what I can see and touch and learn; I believe in science and nature. I do not believe in something that has never been shown to be real in any way. It doesn't make sense to me that people make major decisions based on faith of such an unexplainable nature. The entire country is wrapped up in who is the most pious or who has the strongest beliefs and then we are supposed to elect that person to the Presidency. What has the current President, who takes his marching orders from god, done for us? We are in a major armed conflict, the economy is a mess, and the world hates and/or fears us! All for god I suppose.
As for the country going to hell in a handbasket, I fail to understand how he great white wizard can stop that. Moving away from the hypocrasy of sitting in church and atoning for your sins of the week, moving away from prayer in school (which isn't actually banned by the way), moving away from christianity, all of that is going to bring us to wrack and ruin? Which god should I pray to? Muslim, Jewish, Hindu? Oh wait, those are all wrong aren't they? If it isn't JC it doesn't count!
As I said, keep the hypocrasy, it's never done me or mine a bit of good.....

      • Posted By: ElliottMMVII @ 12/10/2007 2:31:40 PM

In short, you don't have to - or need to. That's what's nice about freedom. If you'd like, you could hypothesize that God doesn't exist (whichever one you want) and then think to yourself if you would like to have someone with God-like values as your friend, or someone who doesn't. The nice thing about the God-like values is that they will be nice to you whether or not you take advantage of them. Good luck with the other guy.

P.S. The country is ours to do with as we please. Vote accordingly. But, see the example above as to who you might consider and remember that. I'd still go for the good guy - in hopes that he would do the best job he could and have the best underlying "framework."

        • Posted By: angelus1967 @ 12/10/2007 3:47:43 PM

Typical blather. You did not say a thing but i am sure your heart feels better for trying to bring me to the fold. "Good luck with the other guy" What? I have no idea what other guy you are referring to; If you mean satan, why would I believe in him if I don't believe in god? Makes no sense.

Who is the good guy you are going for? What is the above example. You make no sense at all.

Jesus says "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's??? and Article VI of the Constitution says "???but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." When people so vigorously question a political candidate about his religious reliefs are they not violating the intent of Article VI and Jesus' instruction to do what the law requires?

  • Posted By: southernFlyer @ 12/10/2007 2:02:07 PM

The caption states Romney "spoke openly" about his faith. Are you kidding me?

A more accurate assessment is that he openly pandered to and made even greater efforts to hoodwink, manipulate and fool his target audience: evangelical, conservative, protestant, christians.

But knowing how desperate my fear-based, theocracy-hoping, fascist-leaning, delusional, hate-loving, bigoted, reality-impaired brethren and sisters continue to be -- and how comfortable they are with snake-oil salesmen who steal them and their families blind, they'll happily buy the twinkle dust sprinkled by Romney in order to continue their mass delusions -- much like the German people who blissfully and willingly followed Hitler's simplistic, scape-goating, authoritarian cultish Father figure and the other white males who emulated him.

You see, evangelicals and conservative christians just hate to think for themselves. They prefer reality-denying myths, strict punitive rules and fatherland knows best.

Amen to that! Father does know best! Turn to him and walk in all ways of the Holy one...straight and narrow is the way my friend. Blessed are you to know his loving kindness....may the Holy Spirit touch your harden Heart.

  • Posted By: Tommypie @ 12/10/2007 12:50:24 PM

Yes, indeed there will be a holy war. Just imagine of all things that a former preacher, and an evangelical one to boot, is being a front runner in the presidential race. Holy cow!!! I envision the secular progressives shaking already at the very thought of having to contend with Mr. Huckabee. To defeat him, these secular progressives (atheists?) and leftist media will dig up evey once of dirt that may be found on Mr. Huckabee, and then some to really pile it on. After all, he must be defeated at all cost, or the country would surely go to hell in a handbasket. Or would it? Methink not!,

  • Posted By: JdavidB @ 12/10/2007 12:44:30 PM

You say Mr Huckabee ,after saying he would not enter discussion about other religions, then DID. Well, not quite. The question was about the Bible, not about Mormonism, or CHurch of Latter Day Saints. Mr Huckabee's answer was legitimate - the Bible has over 4000 pieces of literature ir artifacts behind it. He was NOT entering into discussion about the validity of the Mormon faith. News mediae often like to make statements to incite friction and there's enough friction in this world that common sense reporting just might be refreshing . Shalom, J. David Barkley

Do not forget......this country was founded and forged for Christ...you cannot escape it. We founded this country for Christ with the understanding that others could come and worship their religions freely, but with the understanding that the USA was founded in HIS name. Be not deceived. He will reclaim this land for his sake again. And panhandle, if we tended to discus the Heavenly Father and his Son in News Magazines, maybe we would be in better shape as a nation. God Bless America.

    • Posted By: eubankk @ 12/10/2007 1:51:42 AM

Reminds me of a line in a movie; " God bless America and no one else". We are NOT a christian nation, we were not founded in christ's name and there was never an understanding by anyone that people could come here and worship (or not worship) any religion freely as long as it was remembered that the USA was founded in "HIS" name. I will never bend a knee in worship to a mythical being in the sky.

      • Posted By: APentecostal @ 12/10/2007 9:47:26 AM

You may want to check your history. Cape Henry, the Virginia Shore, and the dedication of this land to Jesus Christ was just celebrated. It was there that settlers dedicated this land to Christ. It was the birth of our nation at Jamestown.

        • Posted By: angelus1967 @ 12/10/2007 11:59:08 AM

Don't need to check it. I was referring to the founding of the United States by the Constitutional Congress which occured long after the settlers landed here in the 1600's. This country was not founded in christ's name, he is not mentioned in the Constitution nor is it written anywhere that christianity is the religion of the land. I actually find it interesting that the Jamestown settlers had the nerve to dedicate this land to christ since it did not belong to them and was, in fact, already settled by people who had never heard of the great white god and had no need for him. I agree with them. I have no need of your totem in the sky and the country to which I belong allows that, just as it allows you to worship as you choose. There is no dedication of this country to a man......

I don't recall asking any questions and don't really need a religious education. I got one of those growing up and it has never done me a bit of good. there has been no more good one in the name of christ than in any other name and some could argue that there has been much more harm done in his name than any other.

  • Posted By: STEPOLLI @ 12/10/2007 12:04:23 PM

Religion and politics don't go well together,I want a competent President, not a religious one. Look what the current President has done to this country. Too many of these"religious candidates today would pander to select groups and ignore others. Keep your religion private, and don't force your beliefs on others, that's the American way.

  • Posted By: mzzim@hotmail.com @ 12/10/2007 3:04:49 AM

Let's keep religion out of politics because things are screwed up enough as they are...it just for religious votes anyway. Another sales pitch! Personally, I'm a more than a little tired of pliticans playing the "god" card. Oh why should I complain at least it gives the homosexuals a break. Oh and by the way, homosexuals are born gay and god does not makes mistakes. How dare religion second quest the creater. At least being gay is about "love" not war. So murder in time of war is okay but being gay is never okay. I got news for religous hypocrites, I am living my life and loving whom I love...you may think you speak for god but you don't ...you only speak for VOTES and WAR MONEY and greedy war profiteering. Gays and pro choice are only scrapegoats so voters don't see the real issues of a failing war and failing economy. You know, the bible was written by human beings....MEN to self serve themselves.... I can't believe people don't see this. Oh yes, without sinners the church would be out of business...so they create sins and sinners....for profit and greed. I don't know about you, but I don't need an organization full of hypocrites to tell me what is right and what is wrong (so they can make a buck). I have my own conscious. I am a spiritual being. The church would hate for anyone to realize that the power lives within each and every one of us...we do have the power to create our own realities. We have the power within us to pray and heal our souls.. So go pedal your religious fiction for control, power, greed and votes...some where else and keep it out of the white house

Amen to that, my Brother, LOL.
Yeah, I grew up with the church, the priest in my Parish tried his hardest to molest me.
I was lucky, he never got his "God Blessed" hands on me, but others, GOD must have wanted him to touch and molest them.
Yeah, that church place is a wonderful place to leave your kids, to teach them all about the world, and the scum that run the place.
Opps, do I sound a little upset with the church and God?
Sorry, I must be mistaken, these guys that run the largest businesses in the world hiding behind the name of "God" are perfect, and they would never do any evil!
Yeah, and don't forget, the Earth is flat, be careful, don't get too close to the edge, you might fall off!
