This is classic smoke and mirrors. Here you have Oprah, a women who really couldn't give 2 cents about the black people in America. You've seen it all over the news and on her shows. She draws and attracts white america, mostly women of 50. Here you also have Obama a man really out of touch with what the 50% black that he claims to be. America is not ready for a 50% black man to be president. I was ashamed to hear Oprah use Martin Luther Kings I have a dream reference in her speach. Give me a break. It is all smoke and mirrors, trying to get us to see something that really isn't there. I am a young black male, successful, and happy living in America, and my gut tells me that Obama is really not what he appears to be. He doesn't have my vote.

You call yourself a young, succesful black man...25? Not very smart, though!!!
Why are you writing posts about what America is NOT ready for anyway?
America is leaving people like you behind...you'll see nothin' but smoke as you disappear from our (rear view) mirrors!!!

Thanks for your correct observations! I have been fighting sometime against these Obama worshippers. Hillary Clinton clearly is the best choice we Democrats have in 08. Let's fight hard for her!

51% of America is female, 13% is black. 60% of Oprah's audience is white female. Do you really think that Oprah is on the campaign trail for the black vote? Learn how to add. All of you people that are claiming Oprah only is doing this cuz Obama is black are proof that race still matters in society today. Race is a big enough factor for you to ignore the POSSIBILITY that Oprah and every other Barack Obama supporter might be supporting him because he would make the best President in 2008

What a complete distortion of the event. Obama was the brightest star not Oprah. The crowd was over 29,000. And following "His biggest applause line came when he reminded the crowd that George Bush would not be on the ballot in 2008" was several of minutes of the crowd roaring OBAMA, OBAMA. 29,000 people roaring to have OBAMA on the ballot in 2008.

    Seriously were you even there???

Tired of watching too much egotistical, vain and self glorifying Oprah promoting her lap dog Obama? Then go, to HillaryClinton.com and educate yourself on the Democrats best chance to win the White House in 08!

I wish I could honestly say that Hillary or Obama would be able to defeat a republican... I can't. So in my book the most electable candidate is Edwards... I am surprised most democrats don't recognize it. We need a winner! At this point Edwards is the only potential winner!

Wow. Mike Huckabee is responsible for a woman's rape and murder - that's your choice for president, t9900? Great, you have morals eh? Just like the neo-Cons, ready to start WWII and holy wars, that is why I am so intolerant of them.

YOU are the problem with America, Amanda. First off WWII already happened, my family lost some guys there in France fighting for THEIR freedom. Second, it's not the 'neo-cons' trying to start 'Holy Wars', it's the Jihadists, the Islamic Extremists, the Wahabbiists.. Maybe the 'news source' where you get your information from never introduced you to these terms. I suggest that you try Google before openly showing your ignorance, and blaming the guys on the other end of the political spectrum for all the problems of the world. Just my $.02

Oprah Winfrey is Oprah Winfrey's biggest fan and LOVES the sound of her own voice. She actually believes that her opinion matters to the rest of us. Gag Gag Gag.

YOU SAID IT! NO one loves Oprah more than Oprah loves Oprah. PUKE!

As a voter, I truly am leaning towards Obama, but I think Oprah Winfrey might do him more harm than good. Her endorsement is almost saying that he cannot win any votes by himself, without her star power. Is she drawing attention to his ideology, or is the attention being drawn to her? The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) tried very hard for John Kerry, but he still lost the election. If Elvis were alive, would he endorse Hillary? Obama is a fine and good man who would draw the world together again - through his keen insight, intelligence and his universal appeal. I would prefer Oprah stay out of it - she will detract from the man.

What a dog and pony show it ALL is this political game million's buy into. Why don't people focus on the real issues instead of this obsession our nation has on movie star's and T.V. personalities

  • Posted By: JGaines90 @ 12/10/2007 10:57:01 AM

ONCE AGAIN why are people acting like this is the first time a celebrity has endorsed a candidate. And in terms of a candidate being elected on who they know. RIGHT NOW we have a vice president who is the former CEO of Halliburton and a president who is president only because his DADDY was president. Corporate interests have a lot more influence on who has been getting elected in the past then a celebrity endorsement or two. It is time for a change! A vote for Obama is a vote against corporate run national politics.

Shame on Oprah, she is looking at Obama as a black man who is running for a great position and because she is black, she feel it is good to support him, just because he is black. Is it racism or what? well, for me her support for Obama has a racist connotation.... shame on her. it doesnt get my vote.

We are in deep trouble if we elect our President of these United States by who they know instead of what they know. May God have mercy on our Great Country

  • Posted By: oldrod @ 12/10/2007 10:47:28 AM

That's just one of the problems with our political system. It's not what you know but who you that can get you elected into office. That's scary has hell!

I would like to see Oprah as Obama's Vice President. I have always felt that Oprah Winfrey speaks well and is knowledgeable of issues from all sides of the fence: (a) being a woman; (b) being an african american; (c) at one time being poor; (d) at one time being middle class; (e) now being wealthy; (f) being famous. Those of us who come from rags to riches understand appreciate everything in between. How can the other candidates even remotely relate to all of those issues? With Oprah, Obama has the extra boost he needs to win....Obama for President and Oprah for Vice President....2008!!

  • Posted By: JGaines90 @ 12/10/2007 10:44:24 AM

My point is that people wouldn't even think about the Chuck Norris endorsement the same way.

  • Posted By: rcrfwt @ 12/10/2007 10:40:23 AM

Ms Winfrey has always been the head of her class. I not read where she has stumble and or fallen.
In all of the shine and greatest Mr. Obama has, I wonder if Ms Winfrey would allow him to run her organization at this time in Mr. Obama career?

I wonder because she is saying that he is good enough to run our Country.

Don't bet on it, she may campaign for hiim, but she won't let him anywhere near her billions. Greedy bit**! Oprah is one hell of a businesswoman, master of the media, press, publicity. She does nothing without getting back 10x what she puts in!

  • Posted By: WhatIThink @ 12/10/2007 10:41:48 AM

Oprah Winfrey is Oprah Winfrey's biggest fan. She LOVES the sound of her own voice. She actually believes the rest of us care about what she thinks! GAG GAG GAG

Maybe as a consolation prize Obama can ride on one of the floats in the Inaugural parade!

  • Posted By: Bob302 @ 12/10/2007 10:30:42 AM

Doprah Winfrey and Barack OBummer. Ahhh.... a perfect match.

It's very difficult to upstage the likes of Oprah and Bill Clinton. They have been in the public eyes a long time. and have proven themselves worthy of honor and attention. I think Senator Obama did a great job. If we critique every move Senator Obama makes, we will find ourselves distracted from the real issues. This country needs fundalmental change from the top down. Please lets stick to the issue because at the end of the day or decade, the issues are what Americans will preoccuppied with not the way a Mr. Obama might have been upstaged by Ms. Oprah. Have a nice day and keep up the good work.
