I just watched the Oprah's and Obama's entire speeches in SC on BarackObama.com. I have no idea what Howard Fineman is talking about. It was Obama, not Oprah, who had the crowd on their feet ,cheering and chanting. No doubt Oprah's participation is why such a large crowd turned out, but it was Obama's performance that clearly inspired them, based on audience reaction. I predict many undecided voters who attended are undecided no more.

I'm seeing that many are seeming to do the unthinkable. And, that is to assume that Bill Clinton will be back in the White House as President.. Making decisions and leading the nation once again.
This is a grave misconception and mistake. Bill Clinton is NOT running for office. His Wife IS!
Look at what she's doing. not what he has done.

Why is it that Obama, the supposed Preacher of Hope has so many nasty angry followers? Take a close look around the internet and you can help but see nothing but dirty comments about Bill and Hillary Clinton. Both have years of experience fighting for Democratic causes. Yet the Obama follwers under the spell of media hype, has absolutely no respect for all their work and effort. Some of their comments are worse towards Hillary Clinton, than they are towards Democrat's Enemy #1: President George W Bush! If Obama's supporter are full of nothing but hate towards Hillary Clinton, then Obama clearly isn't delivering on his promise for a positive campaign. To all smart and thoughtful Democrats, let's vote for Hillary Clinton someone we know who will fight hard for our causes. Why gamble with our future, on a man like Obama who doesn't care to even honor a simple promise of a positive campaign?

Lionred. The only causes I see either Clinton supporting and actually achieving some success at are 1) Fattening their bank accounts, 2) Garnering power to use against any opponent (Dem or Rep) and 3) In the case of Bill, attracting political groupies.

Contrary to your assertion that the media is against Hillary, the media long ago annointed her as inevitable. Now ,despite this advantage, the fact that the Media reports on a potential serious opponent you call it media Hype. Why was it not hype when this same Media was blindly asserting your godess' victory but now it is when they actually expand coverage to what appears to be a serious candidate?

The derivation of the your self described word 'Fan' (Fanatic) comes to mind when I read some of the posts of Pro Hillary people such as yourself.

UofM Poster your name should be UofM IMposter. You have already admitted that you are nothing but a dirty Republican! By the way, UofM imPoster you voted for George Bush twice and now you want the Democrats to take your advice on Obama. Obviously you want the Democrats to foolishly choose the weakest candidate, then you and your Republican buddies will turn on him. Your devious and devilish plan won't work. There's more smart Democrats than there are dumb one. Therefore media hype and undercover Republicans will not convince us to be swindled in voting for Obama. Democrats be smart vote for Hillary in 08! Oh by the way Imposter, when Hillary wins I hope your hatred for her gives you a heart attack!!!

Wow, you really are off the wall. My girfriend and I are rolling on the floor at the childishness of your name-calling and at how far off the mark you are. Glad to have you on board the Hillary Express. By the way, despite your wishes for me to die, the only way I will have a heart event is from laughing so hard at what you and other so-called Liberals write and shout out. Keep up your outrageous rhetoric and I may just have that heart attack you wish on me. Have a nice life. :-))

(P.S., I sincerely hope any who are undecided about Hillary will take the time to read your stream on this thread - It is quite revealing and certainly does not put the Pro-Hillary contingent in a very favorable light)

Voting for Obama is really off the wall UofMImposter! If you think Democrats is going to let undercover Republican tell us what to do, you and your girlfriend better think again! We Democrats want a strong canidate for the general 08 election. That's why we will vote for Hillary Clinton, someone who will give fight hard for the democratic cause and give these dirty trick Republicans hell!!!

Lionhead, what wing of the Hillary camapign are you affiliated with? Talk about hype and bias, your post is nothing more than hysterics!

Why not cite positions as opposed to 'Winning' to just occupy the offices? As an essentially Conservative ex-Republican, I find Obama refreshing and optimistic. As well, I am very well acquainted with Hillary's cynical and opportunistic approach to these matters. It is well past time to break the Bush-Clinton duopoly and if it takes someone like Obama to accomplish this I say Amen.

First, UofM Poster not everyone is swindled by media hype such as you. I am an unpaid avid fan of Hillary Clinton. UofMPoster republicans like you are supporting and promoting Obama for only one reason, so you can destroy him and the Democratic Party in the general election. Nothing but a dirty, dirty political trick! Democrats don't be foolish vote for the candidate the Republican would hate to run against and that's Hillary 'Experienced' Clinton!!!

      • Posted By: UofM Poster @ 12/09/2007 8:29:34 PM

Lionred, your self professed status as an 'Unpaid' avid fan of Hilary brings to mind the adage things are generally worth what you pay for them. I can sleep well know you and the all Caps poster, hiilary4ever are on Hillary's side. As an avid anto-Hillary/Clinton person I would not wish it to be otherwise. As for Obama, I personally like him over any of the Replublican contenders so your charactization of support for Obama so that a Repub candidate can win is invalid - At least in my case. As well, I strongly suspect many Republicans and/or Independants would support anyone other than HRH Hillary. The polls certainly suggest this is a material element standing in the way of a Dem in the White House if she is the candidate.

I couldn't help to notice in the news clip earlier that the demeanor of the Mrs. seemed to change as he embraced Oprah and then turned back to her. Something going on behind the scenes???

  • Posted By: lionred @ 12/09/2007 7:47:10 PM

Obama is definitely media hype just like Oprah! I'm not going to be swindled into voting for an immature two year old senator still in political diapers. If Oprah was such a good judge of character, why did she wrongly choose people to run her Africa school ? She spent millions of dollars to build it, but the people she personally chose to run the school verbally, physically and sexually abused the kids and all they got was a teary eyed apology from Queen Oprah. To the Democrat Obama worshippers, please wake up. Obama will do us more harm than good. First he has absolutely no success to point to ( other than winning an election against Alan Keyes) and his past his shady at best. The Republicans will have Mr. Obama for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the general election. Vote Hillary! Be warned Democrats, if we lose the next Presidentlal election, we might as well put the nails in our politcal coffin. With Obama as our candidate, we will lose the House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. Yikes!!! Let us not gamble with our future in this manner, it is way too important. If Democrats foolishly select Obama, I for one will not vote for him in the general election. Experience trumps media hype any day in my book. Vote Hillary and let's make history by electing the first women to the highest office in the land.

Howard, Howard, Howard, you just can't admit that Obama was fantastic and very electable. You always find a way to put him down.

Comment: Is the media afraid of Obama. Descriptins of Oprah fans as banshees evokes memories of tribal Africans. Moreover, descriptions of Obama as a "man-child" suggest some would like to view him as a "boy." Wake up America!!! Your love of George W. Bush has just about sunk this ship. If it isn't the War in Iraq, then it's the mortgage fiasco. Give Obama a chance. Maybe we do need a freash face and not an Ivy League Washingtonian insider!!!

Over analyzed is right,UoM Poster. I saw the event on C-SPAN yesterday: Oprah and Barack are two differen sexes, people and personalities. What they said and whether they told truth has been getting overlooked by the media and pundits far too often in favor of hype, glamourand, yes, skidued, popularity. We're not electing the class president of queen of the prom.

  • Posted By: UofM Poster @ 12/09/2007 7:20:48 PM

As usual, this matter is uber analyzed by a Media that just simply cannot refrain from punditry. I am already overloaded by political nothingness in the Media and am not looking forward to the next 11 months. Perhaps it is time to tune into the History Channel for the duration!
